Not really. If you saw the match, the injury happened already when Carlos was already on a winning streak. Sinner played lights out in the first set and Carlos played relatively clueless. Then Sinner cooled down in the second and Alcaraz stepped up his game and broke Sinner, foremost mentally. Then, in the third, Sinner was at first clueless, then the injury or whatever it is happened, and he could not indeed keep up either physically nor mentally. @@AdyHh-up9ezExactly. He started mixing it up and bombarding Jannik’s forehand with different looks, particularly those looping, top spin heavy forehands as you pointed out. Then, if he didn’t bring out an error from Jannik on that wing he would go big to the backhand side for the winner or close the point out at the net.
Starting to see signs of Alcaraz’s game maturing in the strategy and shot selection departments. Better tactical adjustments on the fly too.

To me this win solidifies that he's back, every player has a slump even the big three and I hope he learned from it?
You can definitely see how he took some of the pace off the ball through in some top spin and then pounced when he needed to.

I absolutely love Carlos Alcaraz, but Sinner is a brilliant player and a class act.

I LOVE THESE TWO GUYS. I’m so glad Carlitos won, he’s finally back! Sinner also played well, but Alcaraz is on ANOTHER LEVEL lol. cmon Carlos, you can beat Meddy and win Indian Wells!❤
