For those who want a better understanding of the first play: It's based on a kid's book called "Jungle Drums"
Basically, a small warthog isn't accepted by the other warthogs for being small, and the other animals don't accept him for being too dull in appearance compared to them. So an old wildebeest gives the warthog magic drums that will grant wishes when played. The warthog plays the drums and the animals that didn't accept him lost their physical traits that made them stand out (Trunks, spots, stripes, horns, plumage, neck). These traits were then given to the other warthogs. Eventually, the animals and warthogs are unhappy with the changes and beg for the small warthog to return them to normal. He does, and in return the animals and other warthogs respect and accept him. You know. The normal story stuff

The book with the jungle animals is called Jungle Drums by Graham Base. Graham Base is one of my favorite authors. He writes and illustrates picture books, but the picture books are really well drawn and written, and there's almost always some sort of puzzle or riddle to solve throughout the book. For example, in Jungle Drums, the old wildebeest that gave Ngiri Mdogo (the tiny pig dude) his magic bongos is hidden somewhere in each illustration, such as in the leaves of bushes or a bunch of sticks. I really like Graham Base books because little kids love the pictures and story and older kids, teens and adults love the puzzles.

The gazelle/wildebeest gives him magic bongos that when played grants wishes. He plays them and then the warthogs have spots, stripes, trunks, feathers, and horns while the animals across the river are plain. The animals across the river are very upset and don't want the warthogs to enter the Grand Parade. There may be a big fight. So Ngiri plays the bongos again to try to fix it, but this time all the animals get all mixed up, both the warthogs and the other animals. Colors and features (stripes, spots, trunks, feathers, horns) are everywhere, and no one looks good anymore. Ngiri plays one more time to fix everything, now everyone's back to normal. But through it all, the little warthog didn't change, now at the end, no one teases him anymore because everyone else knows what it's like to be different.

Plot twist: Camp Operetta's employees knew that James and Jaiden would react to this so they wrote the script to turn every play into a comedy play so when Jaiden's and James' career started and posted this video they laughed their asses off

I think so, too. I just searched, "warthog bongos children's book," on Google, and that was the first thing that came up. From what I saw online, the story is about a warthog who is tired of being made fun of by the other animals that live on the other side of a river. (They were making fun of him for not having spots and stripes.) So a wildebeest gives the warthog magic bongos and he plays them. But because he plays the bongos, the other animals lose their spots and stripes, and the warthogs get them, and they're all upset. But the warthog plays his bongos again, and the animals get their spots and stripes back, and everyone is happy. I think that's very likely the book, because the story looks very similar to the story in the play.

I remember in second grade, my class did a play about the gingerbread man and the magic gumdrops or whatever, and I was the only one you could hear. LITERALLY!
And this time in VBS, we had to do a song and kind of dance to it, and I do not remember at all, but according to my siblings and mom, I was pushing a kid to the side while I was dancing.🤦🏻♀️
Based on the snippets I saw/could understand, they were preforming the story from a book called Jungle Drums by Graeme Base - a story where a warthog is jealous of all the animals with spots/stripes, and plays magical drums which takes away the colour from all the jungle animals.
