Wow, this is exciting stuff. Seems like you’ll transform the engine from carbureted 105 bhp to 150 bhp in one fell swoop. And likely without the Lucas efi headaches. Doing on the 1969 TR6 is smart since these early cars were best of breed imo. Looking forward to more videos soon

I haven't watched the whole video yet, but unless the cylinder head was shaved to raise the compression ratio, the hp gain would be minimal. The injected engine on the TR6 cars sold in England and Europe had a 9.5 to 1 compression ratio. The US-Spec cars had a 8.5 to 1 compression ratio that was later lowered to just 7.5 to 1. Perhaps I'll find as I now watch the video that this car's compression ratio was increased appropriately. I hope so!

Lots of little details and some work ahead. If you intend to keep the TR I would pull the engine, fix that leaking sump gasket and fully detail the block. You could then also refit all the injection manifold, water pump and exhaust manifold. The clutch, thrust bearing and slave cylinder could be checked/changed.

Looks nice. Hopefully you’ll have it installed and on the road soon and you can tell us how it runs!

So glad you are posing this. I was intrigued by the kit. For the price those welds seem a little arts and craftsy. I guess I didn’t realize everything wasn’t cast. Look forward to seeing how it runs for you!

It’s a pretty solid unit. After installed, I pushed and pulled on it and it rocked the whole car back and forth. Decided to go with an in-tank fuel pump so that’s taking longer to sort out the install but will be easier in the long run. Hopefully…..

Before spending money on a tr6 engine you must check the crankshaft thrust bearings. End float can be seen by levering harmonic balancer in and out. Original injection had 150bhp when/if running properly . . . any conversion would be an improvement

Have you seen a Fuel injection kit for the MGB other than what Moss Motors offers? Thanks

I haven’t. I wasn’t aware moss offered one for mgb.

Unfortunately they removed it with the latest catalog. Earlier catalogs 2021 had a kit for the 67 to 74 to replace the SU carbs. Several years earlier they had a California legal/Approved version for the 75 to 80 Zenith replacement. @@hollywoodd3191

I have this kit. You said you made something to use the vacuum port on the lower side of manifold. I can’t find that video.

You can find the part on eBay. It’s made by ICT Billet Solutions. It’s called a “LSA LS9 LT4 LS supercharger vacuum port 1/8 NPT Hose Adapter Holley High Ram MAP”. Their part number is 551387. You will need to get a right angle hose barb to thread into the adapter if you want to hook up vacuum hoses or anything else.

    From racing wheel changes...
Silicon on the nuts to the pump. Tighten to thread each but in sequence from 'impossible' to 'easy'.
    Tighten all nuts.
You'll throw less tools this way.
