Personally I don’t feel like expanding Harry Potter would be the right move. Sure it rakes in the most cash for them without a doubt but from a park design perspective, it doesn’t make much sense. Keep in mind Universal Studios’s whole theme is film locations like New York and San Francisco (Springfield, Minion Land and Dreamworks are a bit of a stretch but I can pass those as iconic locations of entertainment). London does fit into this threshold, but making that location into a third of the park isn’t the right way to do it. In my opinion, part of Diagon’s charm was the fact it was fairly closed in. It helped give it the vibe of a bustling wizard town which is perfect for it. Expanding it to potentially take over other locations that could easily be used to represent other movies is just strange and could risk the IP getting oversaturated. Thats just my opinion though, a lot of your other ideas were really cool.
Thanks for watching and your thoughts. I realize how some might feel this would be too much Harry Potter, but if all the additions had sufficient "Wow" factor, it shouldn't do anything but help, especially to relieve stress on Diagon Alley, already the most popular area of the park by more than a bit. I also think the upcoming Harry Potter series reboot on HBO is going to do nothing but increase the interest for the property and possibly add an entirely new generation. The whole area thing quit mattering a while ago. World Expo, Production Central, give me a break. I see no reason to keep San Francisco, especially if Fast and Furious gets the upgrade suggested here, but maybe that's just me.

The Ghostbusters, Beetlejuice, and fast and furious attractions all sound like amazing ideas along with the et upgrade. But i have to disagree with a bunch of other stuff even if they are cool. I like harry potter but it already has it's own land and really doesn't need anymore in the park. If anything, an expansion replacing fear factor makes sense, but the san Francisco area should remain as it is but have two attractions in it like it used to. I feel like twister should come back maybe to that area but as Twisters. As for secret life of pets, I'd rather it replace jimmy fallon than that little alley way area they have which i believe should stay since it adds to the new York aesthetic. The minions do not need a coaster period because that would suck. Rip ride rockit should just be rebuilt into something like Hollywood dream in japan and the music plaza stage should still be kept. Music plaza should honestly be its own land that includes rip ride rockit. Now, i love the entrance archway because it has that bright Florida feel to it. The old one was just bland to me. The idea you had for the globe is cool but i still prefer the one that exists because it's just classic. That's like Disney changing Cinderella's castle into just a projection prop. Maybe they could use that new globe idea for the front of epic universe? Great ideas but there's a lot that should thought threw again man.
@graffiti.777 thanks for watching and for your comments. As for Twister(s) I shortened this video by ten minutes by leaving out my idea for the Great Universal Movie Ride Ride, recreating scenes from Earthquake, Twister, Backdraft, Kongfrontation, Back to the Future and Jaws using the studio space between the parks. It's a totally ridiculous idea and would probably be way too expensive to operate, but would definitely be Universal's chance to hit that Nostalgia and some member berries. Saying there's enough Harry Potter seems like saying they don't need more money or guests. It's undeniably the engine driving park growth (along with the 2 newest coasters). And although I've never watched a minute of either a Minion film or Fast and Furious, you have to respect franchises that earn in the billions and give them their due. The reason I put Secret Life of Pets in a different location is if you just swap out one dark ride for another, you don't increase capacity, and that park definitely needs to increase its capacity. But most of all I wanna thank you for respectful disagreement. The thought of arguing with people over this almost kept me from making the video, but I am completely heartened by the intelligent, respectful comments here. Thank you. I do appreciate it.
@@jeffacallaway bro there's no reason to argue with you lol. This is the reason I love the theme park community. Most of us just give our own ideas, listen to others ideas, and then either respectfully agree or disagree. I'm very open to different ideas even if they're completely crazy. But back to the comment, that idea of having a bunch of retro attractions combined in the studio space is actually fire but then again you'd lose like three or four HHN housing spaces. Maybe it would be better to put that in San Francisco in the fast and furious building? It may not fit everything but even if it's just three of them that would be cool. Maybe they can make the ride similar to the Great movie ride Disney used to have or they could create a more updated technologicly advanced omnimover system to take guests through the different attraction scenes. A more advanced spaceship earth type of ride could work too.

I think the new Harry Potter series reboot on HBO is going to take care of any IP popularity issues. And the problem with wanting different IP is that I'm not sure how much more Universal has. Any IP they don't already own costs them money to license, and other than what's going in Epic Universe I'm not sure that they have any more IP that's popular enough for the park audience.
@@jeffacallaway You're probably right about them not owning much more IP but they license harry potter and look what that did for them, Nintendo too, both licensed properties. That being said I know a lot of people miss Ghostbusters and Back to the Future in the parks but I doubt Universal would ever bring them back sadly. But who knows, maybe if the feedback from their cinema parade is good enough they'll consider it.
Wow, really nice video. I always like prediction videos. When I saw your ideas for expanding Daigon alley I thought that's way too much but seeing the indoor/ outdoor dark coaster idea, I think it's an excellent idea. The theater show idea is something I thought of a while back, and I think truly would be a people eater. The wand shooter patent I forgot all about. People would loose their minds if they could battle with their wands. As far as the minions idea, I actually had another idea and wrote about it elsewhere. Personally I would like ro replace RRR with Ecto-1, a new Ghostbusters coaster that would be part of a brand new Ghostbusters land. The land would also take over Jimmy Fallon, the concert venue & some of the studio buildings. In that space I would like to see an attraction I would call Escape from New York. This attraction would pay homage to Poseidon's fury. I see a tour group starting out in the subways of New York on a rescue mission to save one of the Ghostbusters. They could even recreate the water tunnel but with slime (projection screen tunnel & smoke). And then at some point they would board a bus as part of a climatic battle scene with stay puft and come out the other end victorious on the streets of New York. People stoll love Ghostbusters. The only other attraction idea I had was to replace FnF with Universal's Great Movie Tour, we're guess would board a tram and go through four different sets where Universal recreates iconic scenes from Back to the Future, Kongfrontation, Jaws and Twister. The tour would then end at a walk-through museum where guests can see actual props from all the movies and spend time wandering around. The future is bright for Studios!
@LChatmanFL those are great ideas, and a Ghostbusters coaster would be totally banging. I cut 10 minutes out of this video by eliminating my idea for the Great Universal Movie Ride Ride, where you ride the movie rides. I allocated the old studio space between the parks for ride through scenes on a Glamor Tram vehicle through modern recreations of scenes from Earthquake, Backdraft, Twister, Kongfrontation, Back to the Future and Jaws, using the old Hollywood Studios tour collapsing bridge gag to get guests closer to the shark. It would be the biggest dark ride in the world, probably cost way too much to operate unless modern techniques can significantly reduce operation cost and increase attraction reliability. I'll probably make a separate video for that since the work is done before I make part two about Islands of Adventure. Thanks for watching.
Great video!!! I feel the same as you: consumed all there is about epic universe and want to bring that same feel to universal classic. The sound stages and backlots are a significant land resource, and once shifted to epic, that makes room for the next generation of this park. RIP to the rocket is all but confirmed, so a minions land plus coaster is very likely. The star theater is also just a perfect addition which covers so many upsides as a massive show building. The harry potter expansion might be a little over saturated and the bed and breakfast is just so far from reality but it's definite a unique take on the space! MIB could use some TLC, fix the guns and be good for a while, or even be rethemed into pokemon. I am personally most excited for the addition of pokemon. Just imagining a practical effects gym battle where it's interrupted by team rocket or a dark ride based on some legendary.
@gponcho1 Actually, I have put quite a bit of thought into that being a big Tolkien fan. It seems next to impossible to create an attraction that would do justice to the source material and the passion of all the fans me included. I do have some ideas, but they seem wildly impractical, even for me. And that's saying something. 😉
@jedibilly I've heard that both the ET ride and Back to the Future serve(d) as "unofficial" sequels to the films, no insider knowledge but that tracks. I've always thought they should make another Back to the Future movie while Christopher Lloyd is still with us. I would definitely include Michael J. Fox in a small role (plot would revolve around his kids) and just have him have his condition in the film. Not as a plot point, just real life.
Little too much Harry Potter. I’m thinking maybe another Jaws ride, but there’s a rumor that there will be a Creature from the Black Lagoon ride similar to it in Dark Universe
@@CobbleBompster I cut 10 minutes out of this video by eliminating my idea for the Great Universal Movie Ride Ride, where you ride the movie rides. From what I’ve heard, the new maintenance bay extension is for Hagrids, not Velocicoaster which is along the back of the Forbidden Journey maintenance bay and forbidden journey will lose some of its current capacity in their maintenance bay
Holy crap you're right! I went absolutely dyslexic on that, mixing them up lol. Totally my bad, thanks for pointing that out. Hopefully that's not a sign of my beginning cognitive decline. 😅
I love your ideas a lot, but it’s not in line with Universal’s vision. Specifically the Minion coaster. That coaster would have to be more of a kiddie coaster as to not deter any children or family members. 😂
@@graffiti.777 I think they need one really good thrill coaster at universal.. Hollywood Dream is fun but I think it should be more thrilling. That way they could add another family coaster or something
@@NickiMinajIsCancelled well I don't mean specifically the Hollywood dream coaster, I just mean something similar but it's still named rip ride rockit.
@@graffiti.777 I know but that coaster is more of a family coaster vs a thrill coaster (like velocicoaster). Also rip ride is kinda cursed and I think it would do them well to do something completely different. Public perception around Hollywood themed coasters (in the USA) is likely tarnished
Disagree on your Men in Black take. The ride is one of few rides in the park that relies on real sets and animatronics. Also, there is no other ride where you can zap another ride vehicle, make it spin, and get a lot of points.
It's still a good ride and yeah, there's like 80+ animatronics, it's just a dead IP. It strikes me now as something to do while you're at the park in between other attractions, not an attraction that's going to excite guests or specifically bring people to the park. Or sell more wands.
Only thing I can’t get behind is the Harry Potter expansion. Or atleast the size of the expansion. I like the idea of the wand shooter and I think the knight bus coaster should really be a quittich broomstick type coaster… that being said… Harry Potter is already going to be in all three parks and as great as it is and I think it is… Putting in other IP’s would be better. Now excuse me I have to go wash my mouth out with soap.
@JCAB72493X I think as long as the quality of the attractions stays incredibly high, HP fans would dig it. The worst thing they could try to do would be to cram the Knight Bus as a simulation ride into the current Fast and Furious. The Harry Potter fans would get furious real fast.
I'm a potterhead I agree that maybe we don't need that much of epic universe but who else would drive that much interest into universal studios I mean I'm sorry I don't think that you can find something that's going to be a suitable replacement unless it's going to be in house and it's going to take a long time for that to to find something that is suitably rabid and that isn't Star wars
I didn't mean to seem that compared I'm sorry but I'm on mobile waterfox I can't edit the message I sent so yeah sorry if that's too intense as a response
Harry Potter put Universal Studios back on the map for theme parks twice over. It is absolutely one of their highest money generators with all the merchandise available in the parks and outside the parks. If you can’t get behind the third Harry Potter zone, then don’t go the amount of money they stuck into. Epic universe is astonishing, and they needed a surefire idea to appease the bean counters
I get it. As a kid I loved 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and people don't even remember it was a thing now, but things age, ride companies go out of business, movies fail, sometimes it just be like that.
Good ideas, but still wishful thinking. These executives lack the IQ and competence to make smart decisions. They're fighting with operations over releasing epic early when it's not ready
@Matthew-dd6kp Nobody's perfect, especially in a corporation that size. But I'd say they're doing a damn sight better than their competition right now. It's admittedly much easier to brainstorm from the couch than it is for a major corporation to expend the resources to bring ideas to conception.
I think the Harry Potter expansion is a little too much. I could see them taking the Fear Factor area, and the area in front of it, but that’s more than enough. I’m all for expanding behind the Simpsons and MIB…. And please…get rid of Fallon and Fast and Furious. Love the idea for Secret Life of Pets… I’d also like to see some dark rides in Dreamworks.
@Cheezbat Thanks for watching and commenting. I agree a dark ride in DreamWorks would be cool, but video of the Kung Fu Panda dark ride in China seems underwhelming, a sentiment echoed by several people that have ridden it
@BlazingClaw94.Ultimate I remember that film and it was pretty great. It also came out the year I graduated college in 1986 and I doubt few people under 50 have ever heard of it, which probably means the money people would never OK something like that.
Man you have some out there ideas. I like some of them, but a lot of them are almost impossible. Also Comcast NBCUniversal doesn't actually own universal music.
I love the Harry Potter lands but man they need to throw in more ips. If anymore Harry Potter expansions happen it should just be in epic universe and maybe expanding Diagon Alley over fear factor. But that's it.
@sixteenpennynails it's a 34 year old ride. I only suggested upgrading it so it can last much longer, because if you just leave it alone eventually it will disintegrate
The other two parks are just not up to the standards of Epic Universe and it will bring the guest overall experience down. And Project Epic is not doing what they think it is to the older parks. I just don't think they understand the stark contrast between what they have and what they are trying to do. It's going to be a problem.
@crassmonkey18 Uh, you may have misunderstood. "Project Epic" isn't from Universal, it's just some dude, the "They" you're referring to is just some rando trombone player from Mississippi with an overactive imagination and an abundance of creativity. I agree with your assessment that the two existing parts are not up to the standard that Epic is going to have, which is why I dreamed it up. But thanks for checking it out and for commenting.

@@jeffacallaway Great minds think alike!!
@@LChatmanFL Indeed 😎
The only problem with that idea is that Universal NEEDS those studio buildings for HHN houses.
@jonathanwallis3300 yeah, I get that HHN is big $ for them so probably gonna remain status quo for a minute
@myinternets Thank you and thanks for watching! Working on Part 2 for Islands of Adventure
@@myinternets oooh I hadn't considered Pokémon for an MIB replacement. That's a great idea 💡
Hit the thumbs up button
How about a Lord of the Rings area? That would be fantastic!
Bring back Terminator! Or replace MIB with Terminator dark ride shooter!
I don't get why won't Spielberg make an ET sequel? Seems like a win-win for IP, box office and an upgrade in the ride technology. 🤦🏻♂️

Currently, working on an eratta video that will address the mistake. Thanks for pointing it out.
I love your ideas a lot, but it’s not in line with Universal’s vision. Specifically the Minion coaster. That coaster would have to be more of a kiddie coaster as to not deter any children or family members. 😂
Yeah the minion coaster shouldn't happen. They should just rebuild rip ride rockit into a coaster similar to Hollywood dream in Japan.
@@NickiMinajIsCancelled I didn't even know Hollywood dream was more of a family coaster lol. Maybe you're right then to go with something different.
Sadly it probably will close because the ride manufacturer went out of business making ride maintenance really hard. At least that’s what I’ve heard
@@sky0kast0 all good 👍
Nobody touch my men in black. Take ET but leave me MIB 😂
ET?? Blasphemy 😂
Haha I know I know-guilty 🤣
Love the idea for Secret Life of Pets…
I’d also like to see some dark rides in Dreamworks.
@Cheezbat Thanks for watching and commenting. I agree a dark ride in DreamWorks would be cool, but video of the Kung Fu Panda dark ride in China seems underwhelming, a sentiment echoed by several people that have ridden it
Could you also include "An American Tail" in there? @Jeff Callaway
@x-raygamer9283 Thanks for watching, thanks for the correction, and yes many of my ideas are out there, just like me. 😉
Currently working on an errata video to address the mistake. Thanks for the correction.
That much Harry Potter would make me throw up
I love the Harry Potter lands but man they need to throw in more ips. If anymore Harry Potter expansions happen it should just be in epic universe and maybe expanding Diagon Alley over fear factor. But that's it.
If they get rid of rip ride rocket i say make a deal with sega and have a sonic the hedgehog themed land
And where will that go?
@graffiti.777 if a sonic themed land had to be anywhere I say it would replace men in black or rip ride rocket
Leave ET alone! Package the scent and sell as air freshener.
