02:37 - The video on the top left isn't technically a Vsauce outro. It had been used for DONG/D!NG channel for quite a number of years and was reused for the later Vsauce pieces. That's why it has the yellow, sulfuric colour to it, instead of actually being green.

Michael obtained the CZcams channel "Vsauce" after randomly generating the name on a website. He asked if he could have the channel and obtained it from the Wackygamer guys and decided to keep their videos up for historical purposes.

@@novachromaticit ain’t true. Michael was hired to create a video game channel for a specific company after he tried pitching a terrible show idea for the same company. They wanted it to be named some bs with “video game” in the name, but he didn’t like it, and went with vsauce instead. He talks about it in one of his shorts.

I have felt for a long time that Micheal is by far the person that influenced the platform the most. I started watching his videos during the "silver" age and saw the landscape of CZcams change. It went from let's plays, random humor, and primordial memes to structured video essays. More effort was put into videos as a whole and people started actually forming identities.
I have actually wanted to put the effort into making a video about said subject for a while but it seems I have been beaten to it by someone that actually researched the history of the channel much better than I would have. Good job fam, found your channel due to the Xavier video and glad I did.
Really enjoyable, appreciate the work. Was nice to get a completely new insight into the channel.

i was recommended a Vsauce video from 2011 with r34 Peach in the thumbnail. i've watched Vsauce since the later "Silver Age" but never saw his really old stuff so i was super confused. got me curious about the history of the channel and it led me here. exactly what i was looking for, great video
