I don't worry about people thirsting over young Snow (Blyth is VERY attractive). It's vital that people understand that eventual villains can start out as decent and even desirable. We need to see that any of us has capacity for evil in the right/wrong circumstances.

If it makes you feel better, the book pulls absolutely no punches in portraying Snow as a Bad Person. He does screwed up things. He does indeed choose not to redeem himself. And this looks to be a faithful adaptation. ...not that that's going to stop anyone, but you know. Tumblr's gonna Tumblr. They can fix him. Yadda yadda. Anyway, still excited for this! They made some really great casting choices, and it's going to be a fun time.
AGREED!! i got that impression from how much i’d read (and i trust collins) i just found it brutal at the time period i was trying to read it- excited to try again in anticipation for the film!
if anything most people will me thirsting for the actor not snow himself. An actors performance can sell a character so its easy to confuse the two. Of course there always some extremes but i personally like the look of snow but that doesn't mean i approve of his actions i just like learning how antags and basically villains become how they do.
idk what sent teen dystopian novels into hibernation, but hopefully this and maybe pjo will help awaken that. i just wish we had some of it now as an adult who grew up with these books :)

No because i was scoffing at Snow and his holier than thou attitude the entire time i was reading the book!! I did like seeing the parallels and references to the other books, so I’m excited to see this movie adaptation!
Ngl ballad is tough one to read because it’s soo dark but it’s not written in snow’s voice..it’s in 3rd person…if it was written in 1st person then it would be just as hard to read. In third, snow is wicked and we as the reader are watching him turn in every wrong moral direction. But imagine how much more wicked it would be if we were in his thoughts. I think it was a smart choice to write it the way it was…it’s as if we were the outsiders watching the deep moral issues of snow and the people of the capitol..but I understand how these books can be hard for people to read. It is dark dark stuff…but they have a reason for being that way
yeah i tried reading it right when it came out so my memory is fuzzy (obviously cause i misspoke a couple times in the video woops) but i do remember just not being in the headspace for it so i need to try again
I'll tell you this, most people will thirst after Snow. Sad I know. In my lifetime I saw people thirsting after Frollo from the Hunchback of Notre Dame. I've seen people thirst after Anakin/Darth Vader, Palpatine, and Kylo Ren. When November comes, just be ready for the onslaught of Snow fanfics.
i cry immensely- tho i suppose it shows that attractive people are as capable of villainy as anyone which is clear, i just hope people don’t try to claim he’s morally justified due to it

This will be the 10th Hunger Games, so Lucy Gray is not the first ever female tribute from district 12. But great parallels nonetheless.
