The Soldering side of the PCB contains 2 M formed grounding cable at the KI version. It has a better grounding than the thin PCB copper layer.

pm 40 and 66 are different models and different era so it’s not for comparation, there is pm 66se non ki and pm 66se KI, they need to be compared. the only different between KI and non-KI is copper chassis, toroidal transformer and some different caps, the rest is the same. so, after replacing transformer and just few caps the non-KI is becoming KI

Same era, and there is a lot more different than the transformer and caps. A lot more.

I was gonna write the same thing. I worked at a hi-fi shop when the PM-66 was a current model.. we had both the 66SE and 66 K.I. in stock, the price difference was almost 100%, and yeah, these are the two that need to be compared.

I have the KI. I've had it since the 90s. As you state on your vid, the 40 has a switch for the phono (moving coil and moving magnet), whereas the 66KI does not. This raises the following question. Which type of cartridge should my turntable be paired up with, given that my amp is the optionless one?

From memory the 40 coil selector switch worked on MM but not MC. And I have a MM cartridge. I would have a look at your cartridge to see which it is, and if it works, it's that 😌
It may be in the manual? Not sure

An amp with a remote is a deal breaker for me!
