- CFSI presents an Animagic film - MAAA-A-A-aaa!!! (2007, 19 mins)
Based on a Panchatantra tale -the Brahmin and the goat or the Brahmin and the 3 thieves, the film was originally conceived in 1997 as an animation exercise for young and inexperienced animators till the director realised he was one too!!!
Commissioned by Sai Paranjpye at CFSI after the success of 'Raju & I' in 2003 the film was an attempt to imagine ourselves as a Hollywood style animation studio in the 40-50s (when Mickey and Bugs ruled)..what would we create for our audiences? tho it was aimed at children, we wanted everyone to be able to enjoy it!
So to create a classical 2d cartoon for India (& thus also to keep hand-drawn 2d animation alive!) in hindi... we looked at folk theatre, early hindi talkies as well as the silent comedy classics that animators all round the world have studied - Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin etc..
With a wonderful title track writen by Swanand Kirkire and music and soundtrack composed by Shantanu Moitra,
written, designed, animated and directed & produced by Chetan Sharma, tho without the team mentioned below, it would not have been possible at all!

Thank you for your continued passion to see TRIPURA...As the rights for TRIPURA belong to ACK Media (Amar Chitra Katha) we cannot release it (however badly we want to!) They will release it sometime. We have been requesting them regularly and have also sent all the (hundreds!!) comments of our well-wishers asking for the film.. but its a corporate decision.. however frustrating that is, even for them.

Did u use Opentoonz,Krita etc. for the animation ? If not please tell me which software u used to create such beautiful film . I too am a aspiring animator who is at present an inexperienced person.
Sorry for the late reply Vishnu, the animation in this film was all done on paper and then digitally inked and painted on Animo, a then leading software, which doesnt exist anymore. you can see some shots of how the animation was done in our new video 'flippin' Mad' which shows the animation drawings from a scene of this film.
