    Nice video once you got to a clear view! Thanks for keeping real sounds and not adding music! Glad to see you're using your boat year round and in all conditions! We live in the north sound and know it can get rough at times! Stay safe and keep making videos like this! Following seas do take some getting use to and make ya pay attention!

      Thanks George. I've experimented with background music and I've never liked the way it's turned out for these videos. Instead of trying to use clever music and sounds I've focused on trying better editing, better sound quality, and multiple cameras.

    Real life boating keep those rough water videos coming mate, we are ordering a Stabi for where we live in Australia. Our bay is notoriously unpredictable.

    • @StabicraftontheSound
      @StabicraftontheSound  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you Steven! We deal with the unpredictability here too. The water you go out in may not be the waters you come back in! So it's great having a boat you feel safe in regardless the conditions!

  • @bobjarrard
    @bobjarrard Před 3 lety +2

    The wet on these boats is often just the wind driven water up by the bow and then pushed aboard. Dead down wind is pretty dry. I ran one of these at Doc Warner's in Alaska, open model and we ran full throttle into waves that would stop every other boat I have ever been on in such rough water. Motor was a 90ho Yammie, never a missed beat and fuel use was reasonable. Doc runs the 2050's now, a bit more room. I would buy one the Stabicraft in a heartbeat. Bob Jarrard

    • @StabicraftontheSound
      @StabicraftontheSound  Před 3 lety +1

      Yep, only time I take on much water is maneuvering around in reverse trying to position to snag a pot when I'm out alone. That's in pretty low waves too. I do feel safe knowing the thing won't sink instantly if I swamp it.

    I've got a rib and it's brilliant fun in a following sea as well. Maybe because it's also got very good lateral stability. I haven't stuffed it, come close a couple of times.

      Boat Country let me check out 2250 centercab, it was really nice, I haven't had the chance to see a walkthrough yet. I'm hoping someday to step up to the 2750. My dream Stabi would be the 2750 with a walkthrough and an enclosed wet bath/head as well.

    • @AnAlaskaHomestead
      @AnAlaskaHomestead Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Matthew. Yes I still do have the Stabicraft. Best boat we have owned and fished out of. It's paid off and the only reason we would sell it would be to upgrade to the SC2250.
      I wouldn't mind showing you my boat and maybe even going out, but we have recently moved from Texas to the West Palm Beach area here in Florida. (There are only two in the state of Florida, ours and an other yellow SC2500 in Tampa). The boat gets a lot of attention here. Surprisingly some people know about Stabicraft here (some tell me what are you doing here, go back to Australia or Alaska 😅 idiots....) they don't really appreciate what a Stabicraft has to offer. It seems to be all about fancy fiberglass center consoles here and big expensive character boats.
      I've come to call our boat The Little Giant, because when it's rough and the small 20 to 24 ft center consoles won't go out the inlet, we confidently go out on the Stabi and fish the same waters as the big charater boats and people are starting to take note. It is truly as small charter boat fishing machine. Plus our boat will never rot or delaminate. Solid 4x4 sea tank!
      If you are ever in the South Florida area let me know and I'll gladly take you fishing in The Little Giant 🙂

    37 knot wind would sink any normal fishing boat on Lake Erie on the eastern basin. I know the camera doesn’t do waves respectable as to their size. I saw 37 knots and was looking for 10 fters. This boat looks like it ran pretty good in that water. Stayed nice and level front to back. Lake Erie is just a freak of nature. Over 2000 shipwrecks in that lake. Mostly due to wind and huge waves.

    What’s the mpg ?

    • @StabicraftontheSound
      @StabicraftontheSound  Před 29 dny +1

      At full speed, the digital display shows about 3 mpg. If I run a slower pace, around 30ish MPH, it goes up to 5-6 MPG at best in smooth water. If it's really rough out, and I'm running slow, say 10-12 MPH max, it's around 7-9 MPG. This fall between summer and winter crabbing season I'll try and shoot a video showing the different speeds to MPG ration as reported in the electronics. Thanks for the comment, and stay tuned for video proof of my writen answers.
