Sir you are a GOD, thank you so much. I had been trying for days to flash my arduino with a hex firmware to use as a controller, and this was the only video that showed about grounding the capacitor to activate DFU mode and updating the drivers.

Just touch the isp pins closest to the usb jack together, way more simple to put in dfu mode.

I have the same board he has in the video.. Your suggestion didn't work. Although it is the official method given in the arduino website, it doesn't work for me.

Thank you so much!! I was pissed my Elegoo Mega 2560 R3 did not work. The only difference for this boards is that to get it into DFU mode I had to simply take the pin left of the pin you used and plug it into the reset slot on the board. Then DFU was on. no need to trip the capacitor thank you much!

Same issue with an Elegoo Uno R3. Worked for a week or so then effectively bricked. Hours of troubleshooting/Googling got me here and the video sorted. Thanks so much Saravanan AL

I made a drum midi trigger with Arduino UNO , which also require Hairless serial to midi converter. It works fine.
Recently I upgrade it's default firmware to Mocolufa . now it is recognised as a Usb hid Device . But its Drum trigger program don't work the way it used to . It send some weird messages. How to fix this to send midi notes ?

Thanks for this valuable tutorial. I am stuck trying to do the same driver update process on a RUMBA board with Atmega 16U2 and Atmega 2560 chips. The process looks to be similar but windows keeps reloading the standard drivers. I can't make the chip go to DFU mode. Any ideas?

Well actually it worked one, needed twice but wont work anymore.
Flip says '' blank check fail at 0x00000 " and when I unselect it, it is verify that fails...
Any option?

I don't know about you my guy, but if anyone else is having this issue, make sure to select first the chip model in the "select a device" option, located at the upper left corner with an image of a microcontroller.
