at first I was impressed with the Optimus robot progress seen in the video, but then I saw that the optimus robots weren't working on their own but being controlled by a person next to it with some sort of VR controller, so I feel like they are no where near having a robot.
Optimus need at least a 4PetaFlops Brain to perform human level cognition, the current Jetson Thor from NVIDIA reaches 800TeraFlops or 0.8PTOPS. Optimus need to develope no only Dynamic Movement Neural Networks but also Touch Sense ANNs, to feel the tools they are using in every moment.
Imagine all the potentials when we can train them to plant Gardens take care of all the work at home and help in taking care of the elderly. These will change the world as we know it. Once ai becomes smarter, so will the robots. Let's just hope this is all for the good.

Well, theoretically you could but like the Tesla car you buy the car with ALL the functionality built in, then you get to pay additional thousands of dollars for each feature which they don't add to the car. No. The features are already there. They just flip the switch allowing you to use it. The full self driving mode on the Tesla for example which is the reason most buy it. It cost an extra $8,000, on top of the price of the car. So all these people who bought the car were sold that it could drive itself. Then they get it and it can't. Not until they fork over another 8k to have it turned on. The optimums will no doubt be the same. You might be able to get the base model for 8k. But if you want it to do laundry, thats another $2,000. Want it to do dishes? Well that's $5,000. Want it to mow the lawn? Well you could make a business out of that so that's another $10,000. If you sell it the software licenses wont transfer to the new owner. So you can only sell the base model. Then when you buy the newer model you will find out that all your software upgrades were tied to the old unit.

I believe Optimus III will be able to read and play the piano as much as I believe that Fully Supervised Driving will allow you to get in a car in Los Angeles and drive you to New York. Just like this was coming in 2019 and nowhere Near. These promises and predictions if there wasn’t a track record of huge BS, I could even consider it. But at some point, people need to stop being so gullible. Track record: Hyperloop faster than jets, take you LA to San Fran? FSD? Supersonic VTOL? Roadster? Semi replacing Rail with Convoys? Solar homes? Robo taxis that make you 100% ROI since 2019? You could argue that this robot could get in a car and make FSD obsolete.. what a ridiculous claim with lots of evidence against it.
