Yea, a big influence. LP wanted to call themselves Hybrid Theory but instead that was their first album. I think Sleep Theory may be a reference to that.

I’m a 45 year old black woman born and raised in Detroit and I’ve been emo since middle school so I totally relate. I love rock/metal/alternative especially from the early 2000’s so this band has not only taken me back to those amazing times, they’ve renewed my faith that real music is still alive and thriving. I love both bands. Sevendust is literally one of my favorites. I don't think they're anything like Sevendust other than having black vocalists, but I'm damn sure getting LP vibes from them,

Honestly tho I haven't listened to enough of Sleep Theory to make a true assessment of it lol. I'm gonna have to check them out more thoroughly now cause I don't guess I can argue against something when I don't know one of the bands fully..or much at all for that matter. I'm a die hard Sevendust fan tho. Was a huge LP fan at one point too.

Everyone points out the obvious Linkin Park sound, but there's a ton of Sevendust influence.
With the turn tables you could also argue Incubus but I like this a bit more

You guys have to be the best group that has come out in the last 10 years. I am a slave to old school metal but Sleep Theory has really made me enjoy listening to music just like I did as a kid when Metallica put out the Justice album..
They're good but you're sleeping on bands like Counterparts, like moths to flames, crown the empire, the plot in you, I could go on. This band is good but hardly unique

@@d2h655 I will be honest. I am a creature of what I like and really have difficulty giving a song more than 5 seconds. If I don't like it in the first 5 seconds, I pass. I am sure by doing this I have limited myself to a lot of good shit. I am 47 and no longer really into the music scene as I was back in the 80/90's where it was all I had. Now, If it's on XM radio and I like it, I add it to a play list.. I am still a Metallica fan, they have been my go to since I was in grade school. I've added bands like Volbeat, A7X, Slipknot and gradually shuffled in some newer stuff.

I've been playing guitar for 30 years and a diehard Metal/Rock fan. Came across these guys randomly on Instagram and have to admit this is one of the most unique and filthy guitar riffs I've ever heard. Very original and the vocals are fantastic. This is a band to look out for, and of course I love the obvious Linkin Park influence. I immediately checked for their tours and got tickets to their upcoming show in Montreal with Beartooth on Jan 20th....(For anyone in the area who's wondering).
Man you're gonna have a blast !! Beartooth is insane on live, and I'm absolutely sure that Sleep Theory will be too ! 🎉
