It was bad back then and is now. 3:37:53 these awful animations ruined gameplay. Controls were awful, combat system - go straight and shoot. Plot, locations, enemies were boring. The only thing which was kinda impressive - intro chapter. I wrote 'kinda', because you can leave Lara for hours among flames and nothing happens, stupid.

There isnt any reasons for game developers to cap their game's resolution.
Even then it can easily be chaned, with some tinkering in the game files.

So impractical to do that entire first mission barefoot. Think of all the sharp coral underwater and all of the sharp rocks while climbing the rock walls. Her feet would be a bloody mess by the end of all that.
