- Join us for a Stena Line ferry tour. In this vlog, we take you on a tour of the Stena Line Ferry from the Hook of Holland to Harwich. In addition to the ferry tour, we give you prices and information for traveling with a dog on the ferry. Stena Line is super dog friendly, so it made our trip stress-free.
We started off our journey by making our way to the Hook of Holland from the Hague. Once at the port, we had to go through customs, have the customs official check our dog Chloe's pet passport, check in our luggage, and check Chloe into the kennel. After we set sail, we took a tour of the ferry, had lunch, and relaxed.
The Stena ferry has several seating areas, a buffet style cafeteria, waiter service restaurant, and a couple of bars. For entertainment onboard, there are casinos, a cinema, duty-free shopping, a sun deck, basketball court, and an arcade.
There is also a kennel if you plan to bring along a pet. We loved how pet-friendly Stena was because we could visit Chloe whenever we wanted. They also had a small dog walking area near the kennels.
Because it was a day ferry, we didn't get a cabin, but there were several options if you want to book a cabin for the journey.
All in all, we had a great experience taking the ferry from the Hook of Holland to Harwich.

Thank you! Yes, you will have to go through immigration in Harwich, but my dog’s paperwork wasn’t checked again in Harwich. It was only checked at the Hook of Holland.

(I've finished my work visa in the UK and would like to come back on a visitor visa) and wanted to travel via ferry. Any info would be great help! Thnxxx
Thank you for the video. I will take the ferry soon with my dog. But I am unsure can I go and visit her at anytime that I like? Because I read somewhere that you have to ask a person that works on the ferry to acompany you down tp the Kennels. But in your videos it looks like you can walk down the stairs to the kennel without having to ask for help. (I am also going Harwich-Hoek von Holland) I would really appreciate an answer. Yes. I was able to go visit my dog anytime during the trip. I didn’t have to ask anyone. They will give you a code to unlock the door to the kennel when you check in. I really liked that I could go check on her. There is also a place where you can go on the deck with your dog, so they don’t have to stay in the kennel the whole time. I hope you have a great trip!
