I play Gamecube AC for like a month every single year. It's almost always winter when I do. 🥰 Its impossible to beat the nostalgia.
I love playing games at a specific time of year. I always play Miitopia in fall/winter, Splatoon always seems to come back in May or June, and Mario comes back anytime in the summer
i started a new town this summer and played for about 2 months pretty consistently for the first time in many years. i should revisit now that it's winter

It's nice to hear of everyone's traditions. I love to play monster hunter around the Christmas break, to get out of the Australian sun when it's too hot!

I think this is actually city folk. The styles are virtually identical, though.
@@smh9902 this is animal crossing for the gamecube, not city folk. in city folk, you can see the sky in the background, gamecube has a top-down view.

You legend. I love the snowy music in AC GameCube. I remember around Christmastime I'd have the fan on full blast (we didn't have air conditioning back then) because it was summer here in Australia, and the snow in-game was always a stark contrast to the weather outside, where the sun would be bleating down and burning the back of my neck whenever I went for a walk. This takes me back to those days. It's nearly summer here once again. I have to stick to emulating the GameCube game since I sold my GameCube a while ago alongside the game (regrets...). I still play New Leaf on 3DS regularly though. New Horizons is awful in comparison to the older games (is that a hot take?) but I do enjoy the implementation of hemispheres, so the weather and seasons match my real world experiences. But doing the Christmas event in NH is just not the same as doing it in GameCube, Wii, and New Leaf without the snowfall.
I'd say 11PM is my favourite snowy track in the GameCube game, with 5PM at a very close second.
Pardon the TED talk. I just love the Animal Crossing series, in particular the older games. I feel for the new players who were introduced with NH and who will never experience GameCube or New Leaf (Wii is okay, but it isn't in the top tier of the games; Wild World was good for its time but with Let's Go To The City/City Folk, it doesn't hold up). I appreciate the newer players going back to the older games and realising how much better they are.

Remembers me when I’ve visited my fam in Italy where it can sometimes be likewise. Dry earthy gravel like ground, the sun staring relentlessly down, everything dry and only the crickets chirping. Anyway I’ve been a villager since wild world! Idk what you mean with hot take with not liking NH much. Many share that opinion including me. Fellow aussie! I've always loved the contrast between the game's seasons vs our own. Watching the new year's fire works and the christmas event seem so much more cozy in the older games (I played wild world, new leaf). So many good holiday memories!

I miss GCN Animal Crossing so much. There was something so special about it. Not gonna lie, as much as I want to replay it, I'm worried it just won't hit the same as my memories.
