I have no idea why you dont have more subscribers and views, every video is detailed and easy to understand and i can tell that you know your stuff just by listening 😄 Love what you do man keep it up
I appreciate that! Thank you! I think its because I post too much lol I don't get many suggested views from youtube suggesting me.
💯 that first point is spot on. Growing up, the coaches of my teams had a kid playing and him and his friends on the team got all the playing time while I sat the bench. I couldn’t learn/grow with the game of bball. The minute I moved states and had unbiased coaches who weren’t a parent, I immediately blossomed and developed a strong game. I intend to be unbiased as I am starting out coaching.
Bribing a coach is wild 😂
another great video! been an assistant coach for 2 years now and this is my first year as head coach and have 2 kids on the team 7th and 8th grade so very relatable video thank you
Thanks, im a student in a high school we have intrams (intramurals) and my section picked me qs a head coach
This would definitely help me thanks!!😊❤
I just got hired as a Head Coach for a rec league team. This will definetly help me man. Thanks
Glad I could help
Good info, my kid is only 1 but eventually I want to start as a parent coach, but not for my son. I figure I will coach and play at home with him, maybe another coach can teach him something I miss.
We don’t talk to parents . Too many factors play into creating the lineup and every kid has their own unique talents and abilities. Sometimes the playing time just happens , it’s never personal in the moment
not sure how it is where you are, here we need to keep parents up to date or else if a kid gets 0 playing time they start getting mad... full communication, and transparency can help mitigate issues
Hi mate, loved the video. Wondering if you have any tips for starting coaching a men’s local league team(uk) ? Not sure what you guys would call it in the US/Canada.
we call that beer league or mens league lol ... The simpler the offense the better, 5 out is easy to learn
@@bballcoachallen great way to describe it 😂 cheers lad 👍
Not doubting you on this one Coach Allen,...but I just find the story at the 6minute mark hard to believe/digest. Only because in this day & age...where there are now several bball clubs/trainers out there (vs. say 15-20yrs ago)...if a family had enough income to buy a car to bribe a coach, they can afford extra lessons/sessions with an actual trainer for their 12th-man player no?
this was about 12-13 years ago at this point ... I have my own club I am helping build
I coach 7-10 year old girls. We wanted to teach them man to man, but they had a really hard time with the concept of sagging off. They’d follow their counter part all over the court, even on offense. A 1-2-2 zone worked best for us. But I’d still like to teach them man for the older ones who will be in middle school next year. How do I teach them to not cover their man at half court?
teach man first... learning man and then zone, zone will come easy... learn zone and man becomes hard
I just started my assistant coaching job i get a little confuse on what i should be doin I hust ne advise
as an assistant you'll be backing up the head coach ... every head coach has a different use for an assistant and the relationship will evolve over time. For me I have my assistant coaches yell to push the players (kinda like a good cop bad cop type of situation)
@@bballcoachallen Thank you coach fir the advise any more tips will be apreciated, all keep u updated
@@bballcoachallen he coach we won our first game,As each comes out from the subsituion i go to them and tell them wht they need to be doin to help this team.
@@bballcoachallen hey coach i have a delima we a bit if a delima we are now 1 an6 some of the plyer want me to take overr. Wht should i do
