I miss this man. I was on my own as a teenager. I was doing a lot of acid and a fair bit of speed and smoking hash all day every day. I was becoming lost. David’s music acted as a kind of surrogate parent, a wise one that I wanted to listen to. It’s so strange, I never met him but I feel I know him. I cried when I heard he had died. I never knew him but I loved him. He shaped what I became. I’ve no doubt he saved my life.
Yeah, I get you. I was a freak and an outcast as a teenager. Never got to fit in, as so many teenagers feel. Then I discovered Bowie, who said it wasn't just okay not to fit in, it was a blessing. Anybody can follow the crowd and fit in. It takes guts to be yourself. That's life-saving.
The year was 1977. I remember walking at night with my little kid brother listening to this song on our transistor radio. My 12 year old brother was killed in a car crash 2nd august 1978. Absolutely devastating. Thanks for the priceless memories David Bowie and John Sheridan. Im an old man now but i will never forget either of you.
This is possibly my favorite David Bowie song. So simple, but so complex and beautiful. Still can't believe he's gone. He seemed eternal. Guess that was part of his self-created myth. An immortal Rock God. Can't bring myself to listen to his last record. It's too sad, too fresh. So listening instead to my favorite Bowie songs from 1970s. RIP. A god. A legend.
I watched Bowie's last video and couldn't finish it. Too sad and he knew it was likely the last one Love and miss David "Starman" Bowie! We here on "ground control" miss him mightily.
Seeing all David's different 'faces' makes you see how easy it was for him to change with the times and remain a fresh up to date performer..a rare thing indeed...he lives on in all our hearts...thankyou for all those wonderful songs David, you are much missed already.
Bowie/Jones, just a south London lad who knew nothing good was ever going to happen fior him unless he did something about it. So he did and this is the result Music light years ahead of his contemporaries. Thankyou Mr Jones, from another south London lad.
So I,but I heared it first from two friends because I was not at home and my handy rings:Danny are you okay? Me:Why,yes!...Friend:Didn´t you hear the News..Me:NO...David Bowie is dead...I scremed NOOOO,that can´t be true and I am still sad and shocked...RIP with your unique voice DAVID! Fucking liver cancer
Infectious guitar hooks. Never fails to lift my spirits. With Ronson, Fripp, Belew, Alomar and Slick, Bowie's albums contain some of Rock's greatest guitar moments.
If I could pick one person to chat with for an hour in this world it would be Bowie. Living the normal life these days and all the best to him, a true legend.
I am completed deflated by David's death. Of all the bands that were with me on my journey through life, David was the one who was there through every up and down, bringing me joy. RIP
+ajtrinity - Love this song and video. I just never imagined not having him on earth, sort of... He was so influential on our whole culture and on me at every turn of my life; always with me. Ever since Jan 12, my dreams have been a non-stop kaleidoscope of Bowie and Bowie-esque images. He just made such a huge impact on me right from the time of being a little teeny-bopper. You're not alone in your mourning...
This came on at the grocery store where I was shopping the other day. I'm sure people thought I'd lost my mind, dancing about amongst the fruits and vegetables.
YOU GREAT MAN!!! Biggest loss I've felt apart from my mom.. You wasn't family but my best family memories always have you playing on vinyl in the background.. Tears don't take away your loss! REST IN PEACE!
I'm from South Boston and was part of the Boys club younger than most. My neighbor we all knew as Spinner Gillespie was older would give me quarters to play this song....the he'd say play something you like. He unfortunately was accidentally killed in the blizzard of 78. Older he was a good man to he young kids like me. He loved Bowie.
If anybody set the tone and mood and sound of what pop/new wave/ progressive music was to become in the 80's, it was David Bowie. Rest in peace, Star man.
One of a kind, hip, beautiful man. RIP. Thank you for your timeless music and changing our culture for the better by not caring what people thought of your genius individuality.
I love how significant this song is to me. Makes me think about some things that make me feel very nostalgic and melancholic, but no matter what I can’t stop listening to it. I’ve never skipped this song. Just too good.
Such a talent. Taken from us far too early, yet he will will be l loved, appreciated and remembered long after we lesser mortals are long gone and forgotten. I am now 87 and haven't much longer to enjoy this wonderful man. Kind regards to all fellow fans. England, November, 2023.
+ijustneedmyself It hit me hard too. After being a big fan for nearly 40 years. I was just shocked by his passing. Should have seen it coming when the Lazarus video was released. Even in his death Bowie continued to shock his fans. There will never be another like him.
That's a long time! I've only been a fan for a quarter of that time. He seemed immortal. The death of Lou Reed really made me aware of David's mortality, but I never imagined it would happen so soon. I agree... He was one of a kind.
I JUST LOVE THIS MYSTERIES MUSIC, THIS MYSTERIES LYRICS AND MISTER DAVID BOWIE HIS SPECIAL VOICE!! WHAT A MASTERPIES!!!! I LOVE YOU FOR MORE THAN 30 YEARS!!! MY RESPECT MISTER DAVID BOWIE.!!!! xxxxxxx
I had never really listened to much Bowie before, until about 10yrs ago, I came to the realization I couldn’t keep on going the way I was going with partying and had hit rock bottom, just going thru a music store one day I found this album and bought it n his greatest hits, and it somehow really got me thru the dark days where I couldn’t function and had to move back in with my dad. I shudder even thinking back to how bad it was and how helpless I was even to the point I get a bad taste in my mouth. It’s always sounded cheesy to me hearing people say stuff like that about any music/musician but it happened to me with David Bowie. He’s a special musician and this song perfectly embodies him and his music.
Always used to sing "Blue, blue, electric blue: That's the colour of my poo." Oh, how we laughed. That laugh is somewhat tinged with sadness now, but it still brings a smile.
I remember when I first heard Low. On a Roberts transistor radio tuned to the John Peel Show, late one night. Surprising, alarming even, definitely revolutionary.
I've shared this video many times, in many forums, since we all learned of the loss of David Bowie. This song was always a favorite, and your video is just excellent. Thank you.
Totally agree ... its great to be able to play & sing his songs and thanks to YTube for giving me the channel under my picture icon ... Bowie fans are ace.
The man who fell to earth has gone back home to his planet where he will forever reign as the Goblin King. Indeed, the stars look very different today.
It's a beautiful, warm spring day. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, the dancing wind makes waves across the grass. What could possibly make this day better? Why, David Bowie, of course.
Amazing video. One of the best tracks he ever did. At the time though, Low and Heroes we’re heavily criticised for not being rock music. But that was the whole point of the exercise.
The best photo -montage, great work, and with this song, that will sound modern even in one hundred years! Can't believe he's gone,I grew up with his songs,RIP Spaceman
Wonderful montage. Whenever a tune is played, whether its asda or in the centre, i'll stop in my tracks and see the tune out to completion!!! RIP David; you wonderful spirit!!
"I want to be remembered for having good hair". David Bowie.
1220b Definitely he does but many many more things to be remembered of him.

Absolutely Totally Great .... So Fab ... I'm inspired by David so I tried a YT original ... Space Boy - Maggie is hurting me ... I'm so grateful.

Noel Gallagher on David Bowie - " Nobody has any fucking right to be that good. It's not fair ".
Pure envy.
I always assumed I would go before David. He played such a pivotal role in my life, as he did in so many others. Love never dies.
I remember when I first heard Low. On a Roberts transistor radio tuned to the John Peel Show, late one night.

Amazing video. One of the best tracks he ever did. At the time though, Low and Heroes we’re heavily criticised for not being rock music. But that was the whole point of the exercise.
I Love both albums,,,
Low was the first album of his that I ever listened too when I was at University in the 1970's. I love Warzawa, and Across the universe.
