    VERY WELL PUT. I love reading these kids and their talk of getting in shape for BUDs. The big guys might be up front in the first couple days, but its the guys who talk it one steep at a time that make it. The smaller guys, who dont think "quit".

    i like that they select their weapons based upon durability and reliability.. not on hear say..
    it seems as though the SEALS have a variety of weapons in their arsenal. not just m-4's and berreta's they look like they really go with what works and keep an open mind. for their load out/ kit gear etc... as well as a driving training philosophy such as drop ur ego and train train train.. make ur mistakes in training so u get better and better.

    Violence is indiscriminate it doesn't single out wealthy or poor male or female.. tall or short it just happens world wide. so the better prepared you are to deal with violence when it finds you or someone you care about the better off you will be when it finds you.

    As a former law enforcement officer I trained with Marcinko in breaching and CQB. These guys are NOT seals this is NOT DEVGRU (seal team 6) and yes they do make mistakes... but they do seem to have had some rather good training. Marcinko who designed the current seal breaching and cqb tactics may not be a laymans "hero" but is a helluva instructor!!!!

    @MareBellator You can't read what we do in a book or understand the similarities or differences unless you are in. Being an expert by proxy won't cut it head down to your local recruiter and sign an 18X contract or a SEAL contract. FYI Air Force Combat Controllers work for SOCOM units never by themselves they are always attached to a SOF element. But TACP's essentially the same thing without the extra schools can be assigned to anyone

  • @Richdanahuff
    @Richdanahuff Před 14 lety

    @MareBellator So check it out kid I was an instructor at the USAJFKSWCS and was there when the SEAL's sent 10 officers to our SUT training. I saw as an instructor former SEAL's and Force Recon soldiers who came over to the Army SF that former Recon Marines were hands down all around better. The only time I saw a rock solid former SEAL was if he had spent time in 75th Ranger Regt. The SEAL L&O stated that the SEALs were woefully behind SF tactics wise.

    @MareBellator So check it out kid 1st Force Recon was supposed to teach Phase 3 of buds during the development of the first SEAL's the Commandant stated he did not want his Marines tainted by the Navy SEAL's. The Army Special Forces were then tasked to train UDT's in ground tactics. There are still Army instructors teaching in BUD's. Rogue Warrior is mostly Marcinko blowing his horn of which half isn't true most of us today that do this stuff know this.

  • @Richdanahuff
    @Richdanahuff Před 14 lety

    @MareBellator What ??? Tha SEALs were the UDT's that is why they were called UDT just like Jessie Ventura was a UDT but he was considered a SEAL since the SEAL's completely absorbed the UDT's. The SEAL's were formed from UDT and Frogmen in the 60's all that changed for them was the ground tactics. If you are talking about WW2 UDT then it was a combined Army Combat Engineer and USN venture.

  • @Richdanahuff
    @Richdanahuff Před 14 lety

    @MareBellator You are wrong on many accounts Marcinko had alot of reason to exaggerate he had a book deal again my dad was a UDT during this time period. MARSOC is part of USSOCOM which is essentially the 6th branch of service and when at war SF, Rangers, AFSOC, SEAL's, PSYOP, CA and others belong to USSOCOM. Force Recon was ever bit the equal if not better than the SEAL's and IMO MARSOC is not as good as Force was as a whole but still an outstanding unit.

    @shawnshawnshawnshawn Před 15 lety

    Mind you i am not suggesting either is "weaker" then the other or anything like that SEALs are very badass as ..and so is MARSOC...i just liken it to if you had a guy who never ran in his life..vs someone who did track both going to train for a marathon...the track guy has a higher chance to make it even if the training is the exact samething...since he is in already better shape and knows what to expect to a degree

  • @shawnshawnshawnshawn
    @shawnshawnshawnshawn Před 15 lety

    Not taking anything away from either and, but do realize that MARSOC is going to be mostly infantry Marines and Recon trying out their training already is harder then navy bootcamp....Marine bootcamp in general is harder...so i would imagine the dropouts to be more equal then numbers would suggest....the Navy guys still have a hard boot, bu they prob come in alittle less prepared for the intensity that something like SEALs would bring then their Marine counterparts.

    @MareBellator SEAL's have no outside influence ???
    SEALs were formed based off the success of the US Army Special Forces and the Marine Raiders of WW2. Most of there training and influence came from outside the Naval community primarily the Army and Marines. Yes the Flotilla, SBS and others influenced the creation of SEAL's. DEVGRU was the maritime version of CAG which is modeled after DEVGRU-SBS and CAG is after 22nd SAS.

  • @adamantiumrage
    @adamantiumrage Před 15 lety

    Good luck in the future but keep in mind that the guys who talk smack all the time and focus on preparing themselves physically rather then mentally ring the bell the first week. And lately if anyone fails out of BUD/S they don't get to reclassify into a new rate and end up going to the fleet undesignated (that means they don't have a job) and chip paint and clean toilets on ships. So choose carefully my friend.

  • @CuriousPredicament
    @CuriousPredicament Před 14 lety

    @scottyworldwin I know what FM 23-10 says as well, but you can't always follow FMs to a tee. A narrow minded approach to tactics and strategy is no better than blatant disregard. Given the angle of his position relative to the window, it's possible that he can't get further back while maintaining his field of fire. It might be an empty room and he's using the edge of the window for support. He might even be there specifically to be detected, this is training after all. It's anyone's guess.

  • @RichieFullSpectrum

    I meant to put extra *1* year. And you're right, usually they should get their trident with at least 1 1/2 years. But I have heard of some getting it a little later. some even a little earlier. BTW you make it seem like you know about spec ops aside from their basic information such as bud's and how long it take to become a seal. And their specialties etc.That stuff anybody can know a bit about but other than that you and me no nothing of their training or anything else unless you were spec ops.

    @Richdanahuff Před 14 lety

    @MareBellator Now having said that I have been around some SO's and Chiefs I would work with any day of the week. So here is the truth if a unit is part of SOCCOM it has been blessed off by SOCCOM standards as fully SOF capable or they would not be part of Special Operations COMmand. Special Missions is a whole other ballgame that belongs to a whole other mission tier. DEVGRU, CAG, RRD and a few other spook units belong to JSOC.

This can be remedied by you going to recruiter and joining so you will really know and don't have to read books filled with bragging bravado and fluff. If you join you would see the difference between what books say and reality it is very easy go to a recruiter see if you qualify and then request a contract for SF in the 18X program or a SEAL contract.
