      It is true.
      But mate to be honestly, having had a mobius for 4 yrs now, unfortunately rotary isnjust useless for so many iccasions because it often does not fit and it just worsens your clean sound...
      rotary was the thing i was most hyped for mobius but the thing I donnot use too often now
      But also thats just me, if you like it go for it the heck because in some scenarios its outstanding. And I like it a LOT when I use it with organ sounds from digital piano, as expected

    I am excited for what other pedals might be coming in this slimmer form factor - although I don't quite understand why the Cloudburst is a few milimeters smaller in length. Is there a clever a reason I haven't thought of?

      I need the big box multi voice pitch shifter harmonizer whammy delay first 😂😂😂

    • @strymon
      @strymon  Před rokem +4

      Thanks for your comment, David. Cloudburst is actually a bit smaller in all dimensions, including having a slightly lower profile than our two-footswitch pedals. This form factor felt balanced and right to us for this product. 🙂

    Question: I just set up Cloudburst last in chain, as follows: Iridium>Collider>Cloudburst. I have such a strong volume drop I have to boost it.. running all three in stereo. Am I doing something wrong; it’s a worship rig and it’s the only time I’ve experienced this.

    • @strymon
      @strymon  Před rokem

      There are a few things that could cause this (line level/instrument level setting, out of phase audio feeding the Cloudburst in stereo, which would leave the dry alone but reduce the volume of the wet, etc), so the best thing to do is send an email to support@strymon.net and we'll get you sorted out. Hope that helps!

  • @cortmiller
    @cortmiller Před rokem

    So I haven’t used an amp sim like the iridium much before. Do you have it set first in the chain most of the time? Would think the “amp” would come last

    • @strymon
      @strymon  Před rokem +5

      Great question, Cort! Matt here, the demonstrator for this video. More often the amp and cab emulator goes last in chain, or near the end, with reverbs and delays after it. If you use high gain tones with the amp sim and it's last in chain, it will saturate the delay repeats and reverb tails to some extent, which can be cool sometimes but may not always be what you are looking for. Also the cab emulation will limit the frequency range according to whatever is the available range of speaker being modeled, which is often fine. But since the stuff that Cloudburst and its Ensemble effect are doing is full range, in these examples I opted to put all that after Iridium.

      @@mikemorrisonmusic haha, I'm in the same boat, I have the BigSky but keep lusting for the CloudBurst! 🤦‍♂And then I consider the price and look at the NightSky and think for $150 more it would be a better purchase for me because it would give me more of something I don't already have. And then I remind myself I'm in the process of selling gear to get out of debt and to stop tempting myself with new purchases I can't really afford and walk away. And then next week I'll be back to repeat the process! 🙄🤭😅

  • @BkBk-gy6vr
    @BkBk-gy6vr Před 7 měsíci

    Why dont you do a reverb pedal the same size as the Cloudburst with just standard reverb minus, shimmer and ensamble. Most of us dont care for these big sound scapes and your Big sky and Blue sky are to big. So if you have to limit the reverbs thats fine. We would rather a great limited reverb at 279 than over 300 and a giant pedal.

    • @strymon
      @strymon  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Understood on the request - you might want to go play a Cloudburst anyway, because the reverb algorithm was tweaked to be REALLY good at both short and tight verb sounds, as well as the big soundscapes. You don't need to enable Ensemble if you don't want to, and it's a really versatile pedal sonically.

    • @BkBk-gy6vr
      @BkBk-gy6vr Před 7 měsíci

      @@strymon Sorry already tried it and it's still to ambient you have to go really short and it's not worth it to be tied to one setting. Would be nice to see a smaller Bluesky with maybe a hall instead of room. Something with the small form factor.

    • @strymon
      @strymon  Před rokem +3

      Hi Marcus! When blueSky is set to Spring mode, the Shimmer knob can be used to create an intriguing octave-down pitch effect with a variable LFO rate. In the example we hear Cloudburst adding its Ensemble effect to this (the string synthesizer style sound), and we hear blueSky's LFO at three different speeds (that is the octave down tremolo effect you hear). Hope that makes sense! :)
