Matt and Trey sound as cool as South Park.
Noone finds it boring, they just don't enjoy doing it so they talk like it's a favor to us to keep it short. That's the joke.
I love it because I love hearing their creative process and how silly and ridiculous it can be sometimes and then how chaotic and stressful it really is. The fact they get all these episodes done in just a week is amazing. I never knew that in all the years I watched the show until recent. It’s given me such a new level of respect and love for South Park
Kyle 2 being based on Dennis prager is incredible
Also in season 1 commentary they say officer barbrady is based of prager as well

Kyle and Stan and very different, it would have been terrible to kill off Kyle.
Kyle is angry, smart, voice of reason and fights Cartman. Stan is more sensitive. Plus Stan and Kyles best friendship is great for the show.
Kyle needs to exist just to be a foil to Cartman if nothing else. He's the closest thing to show has to a moral authority

@@strangebrew1231 obv not, as they never pulled the trigger on that idea. Though Stan and Kyle were fairly similar at the beginning as the two "everyman" protagonists, they developed distinctions fairly quickly.
@@DB-pr4rc feel like late season 5 and season 6 was the period where they developed distinctions.
In Fun with Veal Stan was basically set as an animal loving guy
Throughout season 6 Kyle was basically established as the moral standpoint, often being the first one to point out what they’re doing wrong.
By season 7 they were already very distinct from one another and that only continued as the seasons went on
Kyle is also more greedy and Stan gets carried away by causes.

i actually managed to get teary when cartman sang heat of the moment 😂 but i did cry a bit later when stan goes to visit him

Ending that episode with the Nword was genius

Did anyone notice them saying "based" and this is like...2006? I heard Trey say based multiple times about Pixar I think and something else which trips me out because "based" only became so overused everywhere this year (2023)
They're saying "base" meaning simple, shallow, all on the surface, but it's not _necessarily_ a diss in this case

I found them from loving Yes, and I finally remembered to check the commentary on this episode.
47:20 - Mark it well, for their failure to heed this advice is the main reason why recent seasons of this show haven't been consistently funny. South Park isn't about plotting, or at least it shouldn't be.
Really wish whenever Matt and Trey decide to call it quits that it’s required of them to do a season 2 commentary that has to be at least an hour. One final set of insanity before they can rest.
