As a concept, Deathsaurus is basically a mini-Unicron. Not quite the Satan of the transformers-universe, but more like an archdemon. The horns, the wings, the attitude - gotta love that.
10:29 Wait wait wait. Deathsaurus was originally going to be a partial of SS86 Grimlock? Wow... Just... Wow. (Stares at Grimlock on shelf) I mean, I can see it working, but it wouldn't have been anywhere near as good as this Haslab. How would he have wings in beast-mode with that engineering? If he did have them, where would Grimlock's chest-turned-wings go in robot mode? I have so many questions.
I think its safe to say consumers dodged the bullet on that one.
I kinda want to see that come to fruition out of morbid curiosity on how it would work

Right? Like I've had my Victory Saber box displayed in the Japanese side and was hoping for something very similar with Deathsaurus
I really think that's there should be a line made specifically for the Japanese characters we never got in the States
Cannot wait to get mine in the mail! This makes me hope one day we will get a proper Liokaiser at some point and some more Japanese G1 in the mainline.
Now if only Hasbro put the same amount of effort into Power Rangers...
10:30 I understand now why you guys went with the HasLab version; SS86 Grimlock is great, but Deathsaurus just being a partial wouldn't have been right.
This looks AMAZING! Also, I love how there are no major gaps or hollowed out openings in the plastic. The figure looks solid. I can't wait to get mine. Well done HasLab Team. Well done.
Kinda kills me that I wasn’t able to back this project for my channel! DEATHSAURUS looks amaaaaaaaaaaazzzzingggg!!! So far, this all looks like he was worth the cold hard moolah! @@palpatine1975 Next HasLab is confirmed to not be from Victory, due to 40th anniversary. It has been hinted to be an omega-level project, hinting at perhaps a TF Animated Omega Supreme into The Ark, or Primus with his Omega Lock.

It's very unlikely that a worker at Hasbro will read this, but for expensive collectors items like these, I'd recommend using foam protection, it's more effective AND eco friendly!
Also for the thing about having the windows open on retail figures, I'd suggest using the cardboard of the boxes to make barred windows, that way customers can still see the figure inside the box, but can't touch it or steal parts of it without paying first.

I'd rather have bioplastic windows, I've been suggesting it for years, and they've started using it in some other lines now, so hopefully Transformers can't be far behind.
Yes, Liokaiser next please! I 100th this along with all the other people that want to see it, he's a great character and combiner worthy of the spotlight. Can't speak for everyone but I would definitely buy 2, and the other person that mentioned Death Cobra as a Tier Goal is right on point, along with his spiked spear and maybe some additional parts for VS and DS, to me it's a printing money no-brainer. Do it up Haslab and we'll see you there with dusty wallets and lint filled pockets 😊

Fantastic! This also gives you a better idea of all the great accessories that are packed with this figure. So glad this became a HasLab and not a stripped down Grimlock retool. I can't wait to get mine. Also as was mentioned here in the comments I am so glad the figure looks solid and does not have hollow parts showing. Thank you Team HasLab! Also thank you for getting these out before Christmas! That is just the icing on an already good cake.

A little suggestion here: Could you guys make the instruction manual in a booklet like the MP figures instead of this kinda big/long sheets like Victory Saber/ other SS figures? It's very difficult to read it when playing it, and i bet Emgo will just definitely throw them away fir sure 🤣🤣

Congratulations on keeping the leakers at bay regarding the release. I was frustrated when I got my pledged Victory Saber almost a month after certain CZcams personalities "received" theirs. I can't wait to get Deathsaurus!

I can't take it anymore. Hasbro keeps putting these guys in a room together and pointing a camera at them, but they're SO awkward, it's hard to tell if they're even friends. Do these people even LIKE each other? It doesn't matter what combo of Bmac, Evan, or Mark you have, the tension on display is ALWAYS palpable.
I appreciate what each of these guys do for the Transformers brand, but they have no chemistry!
It's very nice. But I like how he admits they were originally going to do Deathy in the mainline. But no, it needed to be a HasLab because reasons... but something even more obscure, Magmatron, can be mainline.
Yes while both Star Saber and Deathsaurus definitely could of been mainline figures the tact that both of them were so successful that it pretty much showed the hire ups at Hasbro that Japanese transformers characters can be sold here in the states , I mean if I told you we're getting Magmatron , Minerva , Galaxy Shuttle , MetalHawk , Leo Convoy , Nemesis Leo , Tasmania Kid and a potential Dino King and Big Convoy in the horizon within a span of two years would you believe me ?
The Designers team have literary stated that they begged the big wigs to do Star Saber and they gave them a chance through haslab and now here we're with characters , I thought , I would never would see in stores here in the United States

I'll probably get this guy once have the chance. And who knows? I could get him along with Star Saber! The part about this guy that I find the coolest is that you can place both of his chests on! I thought by the images that you could only pit on one of them and then had to remove it to attach the other one, but this has proven me wrong and I love that! I better tell my parents about him so that they can hopefully get him, Star Saber and Victory Leo together! I love Transformers!
The Star Saber + Victory Leo set they released has tons of QC issues so I also won't trust them with this release.

@MrGrayWallace Good Luck on getting the Victory Saber and Deathsaurus sets. Since these aren't retail releases, they'll be difficult to find, let alone at a decent price. HasLabs (and crowdfunded items in general) aren't as mass produced. So best of wishes, mate.

Thank you guys for acknowledging that this is a reuse of a Grimlock mold as years ago in 2013/14 when there was a knock off the Takara/Hasbro MP of that figure I turn that one into a Deathsaurus 😁 I'm no engineer but knew that would be the best starting point of my custom years ago and now I have a official one 😊

Hasbro I do have a question about the haslab Deathsaurus and hiss tank.
Will they be shipped together or around the same time for those who back both projects?
I been hearing that the email for the hiss tank has been sent out with the same confirmation/updating shipping address by the November 24 date as the deathsaurus.

Speaking of which, why not still proceed with the planned partial for the Studio Series '86 Grimlock (which has yet to be given any re-tooling, thus far, anyway)? Doing so would accord the following advantages:
1. Greater ROI on initial investment for the Dinobot Leader mould.
2. Introduce a previously Japanese-exclusive character into the contemporary global toy line.
3. Make the character more attainable to the masses in terms of both availability & price.
4. Allow for an (alternate) IDW representation of the character, which is also desirable and perhaps even more identifiable than the G1 original; plus, more in line with the overall 4th decade 'Legacy' theme.
5. Ultimately, generate more sales/attain targets for the brand on a higher price point item seen on a global scale.

Looks great and all, but how come we Australians can't get these guys? Unless I am not checking the haslab website wrong I feel like we were left out. But other than that really great figure and hopefully they can get shipped over to Australia in the near future
EB Games has been getting in the HasLabs since I think Unicron. The only HasLab we Aussies never got access to was Jabba's Barge (1st HasLab they did). EB Games lets you put an initial deposit down, to then either pay the rest off when it arrives in stock, or paid off in small increments till its release - working exactly like their pre-orders, rather than how crowdfunding usually functions. You can set either delivery or in-store pickup.
I've personally gotten Unicron and Victory Saber from EB Games, and will soon be receiving Deathsaurus too.

Deathsaurus is a member of the Breastforce, or a "chest master" according to Hasbro's team. Whereas ol' Sounders, like his arch nemesis: Blaster, are carriers of cassetticons/cassettibots. Some God/Power Masters also had a small guy plugging into the main guy's chest. Armada's variety of Mini-Cons didn't homage this, however. But... the power core combiners had mini-cons that plugged onto their partner's chest. RID '15 also had chest-plugging mini-cons too.
A partial Studio Series Grimlock? Ho man...that would have been a disaster to see since Deathsaurus isn't even a small 'con. He's a combiner-sized Decepticon. Still...wonder what the plans were and that they were gonna make him a commander class like Jetfire just with a Grimlock for a chest and body.

MUCH improved packing after the train wreck of Victory Saber. Though I miss the double side art homage to the vintage! Havent seen the Japanese series in a good bit so dont remember but that throne looks a little bland. Still dont necessarily agree this had to be haslab (seems to fall in the "because we want to" category than necessity) but it's also a sad fact most of today's kids wouldnt even know who he was and possibly languish. Maybe if Toys R Us actually manages to come back in a big way we'll see larger Transformers given a spot at retail again.
Packing seems really disappointing compared to victory saber imo,at least the art work is awesome I’ll definitely have to find a way to display it with the victory saber box

You guys were way to insecure. Obviously there were a lot of mistakes on Victory Sabor. My box was annihilated by the time it got to me, hence the “Corner protectors” and stating time after time about how this figure was protected. The last one was a cash grab, happy that you did better this time. You should replace all the crappy Victory sabers though. I didn’t open mine until I got deathasaurus, and mine has gold flaking off, deathasaurus looks great but now it’s 2 years later. We’re all the victories like this? Now do I need to pay 3 times what I paid to get a good one?
