  • Dear friends
    Having gone the extreme to feature from a first world city to a tiny fishing
    village, I was disappointed that these episodes fared badly in terms of viewership.
    So for this episode I intend to stay put and feature KL. Maybe it will attract you a little more since it’s more accessible. Incidentally by featuring Happy Garden, I stumbled upon a food paradise in this township. Incidentally, I found food here that wasn’t available in other locations and was pleasantly surprise by the discoveries. Hopefully you will also find them as compelling as I did. Meanwhile please go out and support the local street food, they need your support more than ever since many are avoiding them because of their price hike. Thanks and I’ll catch you in the next.

    I am very HAPPY indeed after your venture to HAPPY Garden searching for delicious food. And to your friends for introducing very interesting and some eye opener dishes / meals for all of us. Thank you. First time that I heard of petai char keow teow - even though I have eaten petai fried rice before. Also cheese /chezzy curry mee and fried Pan Mee. Interesting and good eye opener. Again- thank you Elmo for a great introduction and surely- you have made us very HAPPY indeed. Yatt Lau !!!👍

Anyways please take good care of your health, viewership and everything always comes second. I have fond memories of the Kum Kee roast pork, one of my relative lives there and i used to dine there, good recommendation as usual.

    Also, there is a chee cheong fun shop just next to the Sabah pork noodle shop. This chee cheong fun shop is run by the same family that sells chee cheong fun at the PJ Section 14 coffee shop (near the masjid). This Happy Garden shop has more variety other than the green chillies. They have moved in July2022 to the owner's house opposite the cash wash located after the 4 face Buddha temple. You should give it a try the next time you come to old Happy Garden (Note: The volcano curry is located at the new Happy Garden)

    *Volcano Curry Noodle* . Yeah! This one is a winner! Same week this video came out I went and try it on Saturday. Tried their most basic noodle, and it was *GREAT* ! RM9 gives you 2 type of pork, pig skin, blood cockles, taupok, green bean, brinjal & bean sprout, and that curry broth they use is exquisite (insert chef kiss).
    _P.S. Your efforts are visible Uncle Elmo, on Google Maps, someone opened a entry for Ah Cai Sai Dou Fish Ball Noodle, of the 2 reviews one has thanked you explicitly._
    _Also, same location at Sengyeh Pork Noode has a good western places in the evening, _*_The Flaming Pan_*_ , this place is my go to western food joint, big portions and good value for money, I wholeheartedly recommend it._

    We always call them the "Stingy Siew Yok" because the portion they gave is REALLY REALLY LITTLE and the price is sooooo expensive
    Got one time my friend went to tapao, after the boss finished chopping the roasted pork and placed them on the box, the boss realized he gave a few pieces more, so he decided to take the extra pieces away from his plastic box.

      A very good advice. I usually will ask for half portion of rice/noodle. The soup or gravy is usually high in salt content so avoid or reduce intake. Above all, take more fibre (vegetables & fruits) and watch out for hidden sugar (that is present in so many food). Reduce sugar in coffee/tea and eventually totally off sugar - I have been drinking kopi-o kosong for decades now. I find the aroma of coffee/tea best without anything else.

    • @carmelo665
      @carmelo665 Před 2 lety +1

      @@CalvinK300 Actually, fruits are not really "healthy" food nowadays because they are mostly genetically modified and contain more sugar than last time. Be careful of durians and grapes...

    • @CalvinK300
      @CalvinK300 Před 2 lety

      @@carmelo665 depends on what you mean by genetically modified. Cross breeding is a form of genetic modification practiced since the start of agriculture eons ago. Modern technique of genetic editing is merely a more advanced form of cross breeding. Nothing wrong and has no effect on consumers’ DNA.
      As for sugar level, all fruits have natural sugar in the form of fructose, sucrose or glucose and pose no harm to our health. The health risks come from free sugar in our diet and not that are naturally present in fruits. That’s why no health authorities warn of durian or grape consumption for diabetic patients. Isn’t that true?

    • @carmelo665
      @carmelo665 Před 2 lety

      @@CalvinK300 Perhaps it is good to quote Dr Fung on Fructose Toxicity:
      "FRUCTOSE IS PARTICULARLY toxic for several reasons. First, as we’ve seen,
      only the liver can metabolize it, so virtually all ingested fructose is stored
      as newly created fat. This excessive liver fat directly causes insulin resistance.
      Second, the liver metabolizes fructose without limits. More ingested
      fructose leads to more hepatic DNL and more liver fat, independent of
      insulin. Fructose does little to activate natural satiety pathways that limit
      food intake, and no natural brakes exist to slow down the overproduction
      of new fat. This explains why you can still eat sweet desserts even after a
      full meal.
      Third, fructose has no alternative runoff pathway. The liver stores
      excess glucose safely and easily as glycogen, breaking it back down into
      glucose when the body needs access to energy. On the other hand, the
      body cannot store fructose directly. When the body has enough energy to
      meet its actual needs, the liver metabolizes fructose into fat through a
      process that cannot be easily reversed. Therefore, the body can handle
      only small amounts of fructose. *Remember, the dose makes the poison.*
