Update on Early Access Release
We’ve been working hard toward the early access and whilst we originally predicted that you would be able to play before the year is out, we have found it necessary to delay until late January 2024.
Just as Masters of the Air drops. Good way to bank on the hype 😅

Can’t wait either. Played the original and still have the disk. The only reason I don’t play anymore is because it just doesn’t play well on my PC so this is great news that they are remastering it.
This warms my heart with nostalgia.
Hope they're still getting VR support into this thing. Microprose didn't do the absolute best job with the VR system in Carrier Command 2, but it is still a great game in VR. Hope they've learned a few things and do better with this one.
this one isn't getting the VR support as its a remaster of the original game that dropped in 2000. The Mighty Eighth VR is fully VR and there is some talk about the bloody 100th 'might' get VR support later on after release as the engine supports it fully.
Hope this is a harbinger of future Microprose simulator remasters, like Gunship and Knights of the Sky. Microprose were the masters of accessible milsims.
The ground having "more triangles" means, that the ground will be composed of more and smaller 'flat bits' (the triangles), which would make it's shape look smoother. Essentially less sharp edges where the height of the ground changes.

The G’s had a mix of different tail turrets. There was the older ring and bead sight versions that had limited visibility. The older style was on all E and F models. In the original B-17 bombers in action they had the upgraded tail turret, but in the Mighty Eighth they had the older tail turret.
There are other differences as well, but that one is one of the more obvious ones.
I’m very much looking forward to the new games and can’t wait to take the virtual skies over Europe again.
It’s crazy how many changes they went through from the Yb17 through to the G variants.
Great video Jack...I too can't tell all the differences between B-17 F & G but two main ones I notice are the Chin Turret and the waste gunner windows are offset instead of inline. I'm looking forward to these titles, and especially the Campaign SP Bloody 100th. ~Juice
I honestly can’t wait for all 3. The redux for the nostalgia, Bloody 100th for the campaign and the VR to fail with friends.
I still play the original and I will be getting the Redux version plus the bloody 100th but not VR as I don't have VR..
If it's ready, I assume they will release the game around the time Masters of the Air comes out on Apple TV (Jan 26th)... fingers crossed...

On that wall, the top rifle is a 1928 dated Lee-Enfield No1 mk3* SMLE, the middle is a 1943 M1 Carbine and below that is an unknown dated M1A1 Thompson SMG.
Wish the Jane's Combat Simulator games would get remastered.
I don’t think I ever played those ones. I remember combat flight sim until the Il2 sturmovik games game out. Then I forgotten about them.

Wish they'd focus on this game rather than releasing kiddy ones like Boat Crew.
They published boat crew, didn’t develop it. The B17 games are their first developed games in the works.
