    I saw her at the USMC Staff NCO Club, at Subic Bay Naval Base in the Philippines, back in the early '80. What a fantastic entertainer.

      "Saved" was one of her great Atlantic hits and was written as a satire of gospel songs. Elvis also covered it.

      Oh Sorry. my comments was for this song rythm & blues. that sounds nice. I appreciate your comment. I didnt know that this famous composers Leiber & Stoller made lyrics as satire. My admiration in many other hits songs are for Lavern Baker. @@aeichler
