It's a pleasure to listen to Andre, he is very well educated and experienced in his craft and loves his thoughts that "Life's chances favors the brave" . Very true statement that.
I remember when he just graduated from riding school he was touted has been the best of the lot due to his family history in the game. He did started off with a bang getting rides from stables all over the park, establishing himself as a prolific rider and winning races regularly until the heavy weight and complacency crept in. He's one of the better Apprentices to have emerged in the scene in recent years but we didn't get to see him fulfill is promise but only snippets of his true ability because of the loss if his mother and a bit of lack when it all came down to weight management which is the ultimate goal to remain useful and successful as a Jockey anywhere your skill takes you. Andre is a crafty rider and can compete on any track wherever he travels.

Interesting and informative interview. The only issue I had was the interviewer lacked a bit of empathy when the jockey said his mother died while in his first year of riding. He didn't offer any condolences, just went straight to the next question..but that's just me. Apart from that A.Martin was very articulate and he expounded on his history and experience (s) in the biz. Best of luck to him going forward with his riding and future endeavors!
