I love this idea of the pen holder also becomes the note book lock.
I love the way the double pen loop locks it shut.
The process is so satisfying to see!!❤
I have been watching videos on making journal covers for about a week now. Got my Hobonichi English planner for xmas, this is stunning. Thank you!
This is something i’ll use my money for. I’ll surely support artists like these after getting a job. This is such a great work, very admirable!
Loved the workmanship and especially was delighted at the end when I saw how you did the pen enclosure. Very creative and different.
That "closing mechanism" is awesome, really like the idea. Very nice piece of craftsmanship!
+inorrx I absolutely agree! That closing mechanism is brilliant. Kinnari Leather your videos are an absolute joy to watch.

Great video. Cool technique. I like how you used the paper to mask the glue. Elegant solution to a problem I have a lot. Same about marking the swe line with the edge of the piec on the back. And your sticking is beautiful. Dying is really pretty too. Can't say enough about this.

What did you rub onto the leather after the initial oil dye was applied. Really amazing outcome.

Carefully aged and stretched Biltong yiels a pleasantly scented, firm and yet pliable leather redolent of coriander and bergamot. Like the cologne.

Omg I want one
/this is great!
Very nice
Wow i want this
Absolutely love your videos! I do have one question- I love the "streaks" on the outside cover, are those part of the leather you used? Or did you do something in the dyeing to get that effect?
Also, what does the oil/beeswax do for the leather? I'm new to leatherwork, so I'm trying to learn all that I can.
Thank you and I can't wait to see your next video!
+Anthony Rabattini Hi, the streaks (or wrinkles rather) were already on the leather, but to accommodate them I cloth-dyed the leather.
As for the oil/beeswax, it is a bit of treatment to give the leather some nutritions and it is also a nice surface finish.
Outstanding job !
Very nice looking
Would you mind me asking what you rubbed on the leather at 0:46?
muy buen talento, ¡saludos!
Marvelous. I love your work :-)
te pasaste esta genial
it's very nice 😍😍😍😍😍
well done
What do you charge to make a check book holder like that??
Beautiful... when you are stitching the seams together, you are not just weaving the thread back and forth but rather actually tying some kind of knot within each hole... am I seeing that correctly?
Yes, sometimes I do that. Usually with thinner leathers, as it helps to create the nice zig zag look.
Craftsman work, Very nice. What kind of thread were u using ? It seemed like it made the stitching smoother. Thanks for the video.
If this aint the most relaxing video...
5:36 so satisfying
Do you think 1.5 to 2 oz. (0.6 to 0.8 mm) pigskin will work for this project?
Can you please tell me whan making leather bag which glue should I use?
Great work! Can you explain what you are doing at 0:44 is that wax you are rubbing across the leather?.
+Homeengineering Yes it is, but more specifically beeswax blended with leatheroil, to make it softer.
What is that wax product you are drawing on like chalk and blending with friction? I assume its a blend of beeswax and some kind of oil to give it that consistency. Even a hint would be wonderful! Haha!
Me too? What is the white stuff and what did you seal it with? Awesome video once again!
love your vids, can i ask where you get your knives? also what was the white stuff you used was it chalk or jewelers rouge ?
Nick Strowbridge The same question I wanna ask, what is the white stuff?
Nick Strowbridge The roller cutter is from Clas Ohlson and the paring knife you might get from a cobbler.
The white stuff is beeswax blended with leatheroil.
Восторг!!!!!
i want one as a travelers note book
I have been bending leather for 7 years. Here is what I saw in this video. Proper leather, proper leather treatment, deep care with the craft, proper stitching with proper thread, and an end product that is essentially an heirloom . I make these myself and would not hesitate to buy this craftsman's kit.
