  • The traction elevator is really amazing, advanced and fast! Notice how it travels at different speeds depending on how many calls it has, or more accurately, the distance to the next call in the travel direction. When that distance is not very long, the elevator goes into some sort of "economy" mode and travels a bit slower. This is quite genious, as pulling the elevator up to full speed is quite a waste of ressources at a short travel distance, where the time saved also would be very little.
Undoubtedly, this feature saves a lot of electricity and wear on the machinery, and thus extending the lifetime of the elevator innstalation alltogether! I can't praise this enough. Acceleration is always, by far, the most energy-consuming and machinery-wearing stage of travel.
The traction elevator is also equipped with the typical Mitsubishi style glass doors. Interestingly, one side has bumpers and the other side has sensors. I think both sides had bumpers in the past, but the most busy side got its bumpers replaced with sensors.
Conclusively, i just want to say about this traction elevator, that it is an amazing and extremely high quality product! It runs smooth and perfect, like it was still new. Remember, it is 17 years old this year, but time still stand still in the machineroom. This elevator shows no sign of being old in the way it runs and works. And it doesn't show because it is exceptionally well engineered.
... and i who thought KONE had no competion. How could i forget!
The hydraulic elevator is also really nice. It has a two-door layout over 90 degrees! That always looks awesome. It does have some issues with one of the doors, though. Opposite the hydraulic elevator, there is a locked-off service traction elevator. I managed to ride it, but not film it.

As of 2023 they're still original, including the ones inside the Scandic hotel. All the escalators now bear a safety sticker from Motum, a Swedish company which is now part of Mitsubishi.

The elevators at this mall is a Mitsubishi Europe hybrid called GPE. Traction machine, controller, electrical and doors are Japanese and the rest of the equipment is European made. They are not as high quality as original Mitsubishi (GPS to compare). I work for the company that installs and maintains Mitsubishis in Norway. You are most welcome back and I will show you around some of our high end elevators.

So that explains why the model name is listed as GPS-E on Uniheis's reference list on their website. Do you know the model name for the Mitsubishi hydraulic elevator which only serves 3 floors?

No one can compete with Mitsubishi in terms of quality.

Turkish Elevators Yeah, no one can beat Mitsubishi. If u compare a 6 yrs Schindler escalators wt a 12 yrs old Mitsubishi escalator, Mitsubishi is more smoother n quiet than d Schindler

Well... The Schindler 7000 series are much more efficient then a Mitsubishi and is another reliable lift sooo.... that's one thing that can compete with Mitsubishi interms of lifts.

Mitsubitshi elevators have such a nice chime, but they seem to have been disabled in these lifts. I've been in a mitsubitshi once, and the thing i remember about it was the chime and luxery, high quality appearance of the elevator. Mitsubitshi elevators are not that common, but one of their european representitives is the EVLI company in the netherlands.

Why this elevator has no chimes unlike other countries such as Japan, Thailand, Indonesia?
