Wow 😮 , what a beautiful car ! I miss the way cars were made back then , they were unique in so many ways ! The styling is like a work of art ! Nowadays to me so many cars look 👀 the same & don’t have much style at all ! Thanks for showing your car ! You must be very proud to own such a Beauty & it truly must be a joy to drive !
Man, I love Impala SS's, especially the early models; '59-'63. '64-68 were also beautiful, particularly the '65 SS. This '62 is just awesome! My first car (1976) was a '67 SS, 327, turbo glide tranny. Paid $550 for it!!
Knew a car like this once except convertible same car same engine same horse power extremely fast for a 409 loved it then love them now. Oh yes same color.
a 1962 chevy impala was my first car i worked all summer it cost me 250 dollars had a 283cu with a powerglide was a 2 door sweeet ride i wish i had now i was 15 then im 59 now still my favorite
This model is the one that became 1969 Chevy SS Malibu super sport Every guy and girls wanted to have this car The 409 Malibu stayed popular many years Unfortunately they didn't build enough of them
That is a nice looking 1962 Chevrolet Impala. This is good example of early 1960s muscle car built at a time when for lots of power a big overhead valve gasoline thirsty V8 engine was used. I also noticed from the under the hood view that this car was built primarily for power. I noticed that there is no power steering, no power brakes and no air conditioning. I am 72 years old. I suspect most people today would not realize that this car would require a lot more arm and leg muscle effort to drive. Without power steering, slow speed steering takes a lot more arm effort. Without power brakes the brake pedal must be pushed a lot harder to bring the car to a stop.
409 Hp on valve covers. Didn't see two four barrels. I just don't believe it's a 425HP SS. In 62 the 409 was rated at 409 HP with two for barrels. I could be wrong but I don't think I am.
You are correct, that was 409 hp with 2 - 4 barrel carbs. I knew the 425 hp was wrong when I first read the description. The SS Impala 409 first appeared in the latter half of 1961 and I believe it put out something like 360 or 380 hp, or somewhere around those figures.
Beautiful car but looks like blue smoke came out of the right tailpipe which means it could be burning oil in one of the cylinders on the right head plus how much money
Impeccably gorgeous ride. I love 62's. My first two cars where 62 chevys.
One of my favorite car's of the Impala 's. Beautiful !
62 was rated at 409 horse power the 425hp 409 came out in 63
The 409 is a Legend and Legends live forever with all of the wins on the drag strip and the Beach Boys song that wrote its ticket to immortality

The SS Impala didn't debut until the last part of 1961.
I stand corrected.@@sharonw2475
Powerglide transmission was the 2 sp. and Turbohydra-matic was the 3 sp auto trans.
@@randalldavis3251 You are correct!

Stunning, a masterpiece in styling and design.
That’s pretty. Hoping a dealer calls me back so I can get one.
Stunning
A '62 SS Impala 409 did not have 425 hp, it was 409 cu in, putting out 409 HP. (probably under rated)
This 409 was a 425hp dual carb from a 63.
Beautiful car.
When Chevy was king
She’s real fine my 409

Sweet ss bro
Hands down the best year for the Impala.
In 1967 my dad bought a new Impala with a 327 and we'd take it out drinking. (High School) Even though it was a "family car" it still hauled a__

62 409 with 2fours was 409 hp 425 we’re 63-64 Sadly 65 was 340 hp the end of the legendary 409.
Sweet!
My neighbor had one of these, exact same color. I think it had a 327 in it
73 Trident is correct. For 1962 the maximum horsepower with 2 four barrel carbs was 409.
So, Jeremy should correct this posting.
It a 425HP 409 from a 1963 Impala, this car has been sold.
What a nugget!

Is the car for sale, if so how much& I hope the new owner likes RED.😊❤
What is the bid or asking price.
gotta have those twin rear radio antenna’s. Quite flashy in ‘62. Ditch the raised white lettered tires thou. White letter tires are tacky.
nice car...wonder why it was never in ..yup-the corvette???
Too much weight
Is this for sale ?
That car should easily fetch $738K
Needs a ball hitch though.
I just fell off my chair laughing too hard !🤣😂
