I have a 1980 P200E and love it to death. Pretty stock, but the SIP Road Pipe 2 and jetting. Had an 1981 when I was in JR High school. Best summer ever and I drove all over central Florida.

I recently got a 1980 P200E, had been sitting in a garage since 1989, put a quart of gas in it, kicked it 3 times and it started and sounded great, restoration starts this week.

The p200 prices keep going up a very good investment in fun. After a full rebuild they run a long time. This one only has sip box exhaust, and is a blast.

Glad I saw your video. I’m over here on the shoreline of CT. I’m working on my 79 P. Doing a lot of upgrades and hope to have it on the road this summer 🙏. Your ride is inspiration for me to hurry up already!

If this summer you are looking for a ride there will be a few through Central Ct Scooter Club. We may go down to the shore. Take care.

I have a P200E in AZ. I bought it new. I've had a lot of bikes since then, but I kept the Vespa. I knew it was something special. Mine is stock engine wise. Yes you can get more power out of them, but your engine will not last nearly as long. I don't recommend it unless you like constantly rebuilding engines and being stranded. A stock 2 stroke Vespa is pretty reliable. Vespa knew better than to overstress the engine.

The P200 is the perfect Vespa. The most I would do is a Sito exhaust with 118 jet. The only reason I have rebuilt these bikes is because of seals, and gaskets getting old. Also stater wires cracking from age and heat giving bad timing with weak spark. I play around with my other bikes. But the P just feels right the way it is. I just can't get myself to mess with perfection. Take care.

@@deltagamma1442 Simonini Exhaust, Very low price expansion pipe around 160.00 carburetor jet around 118 to 120 also back up timing some. Gives a nice boost where you need it from mid to top. There are no baffles in the expansion pipe so it works very well. Much better than even the MALOSSI pipe that is around 250. I may get one for one of my bikes before spring I will make a vid about it. Take care.

Great video. I had a P200E in the early 80's in the UK. Love your quiet roads compared to ours. Always thinking about getting another to relive my youth.

I have ridden almost evert type of scoot, and they all make me feel like a kid again. But the shifters are more fun. Even though they do need more dedication.Take care.

Nice man. I have a 79. Did you upgrade the piston head and exhaust, etc?

Just a sip exhaust. I haven't done much to my P200's. I have a LMLStella fireball that I am doing some power and top speed gearing. I have a few projects coming this summer. My site isn't that serous only having some fun building bikes.
