The theives will just cover their license plates or use fake paper plates.
The same neighbors who put the cameras up are the same who feel spied on.
My property tax is already as high as a mortgage payment that will have to pay the rest of my life. I would rather see money spent on labor prisons and legislative body actions that place individuals into these prison indefinitely for crimes like home robbery or violent crime.
So it only reads License plates. So if you cover the license plate or replace the plates with a non- stolen car plates then these cameras are worthless right?
That's a good idea I'm glad that guy came up with that for the community what kills me is you hear what the police department says they are going to install them around areas but they going to start charging the residence so if I was a resident just put it on your property and as far as the police why don't you put them in all assignments a and that'll help you fight your crime

Criminals do is steal license plates and swap them out before committing crimes.
That’s basic criminology 101.
They could be scanning their own license plate doing a robbery on somebody else’s car.
Watch out for the make a law on those cams cops want n need crime to survive as a law enforcement good idea should of just kept it to your own community

Interesting that someone is legally allowed to scan license plates from vehicles driving on a public road while living in a private residence.

Hahaha, that's great, but Sarasota is connected to the rest of north America.... Pitching in, with help for the city? Property taxes? I absolutely agree with the technology, but it serves a very selfish purpose...you are Americans, right? Pay normal taxes, get everyone a camera.... your neighborhood isn't a bubble, camera or not... not really
