I've ridden this train, as well as, "The Broadway Limited" back in 1984, when I was in the military during, the Gulf War. I decided to take the train from Philadelphia to Chicago, while on leave, instead of flying. I wish "The Broadway Limited" was still around.

Amazing seeing all of the road infrastructure coming in to the city. Imagine if we had the same public investment in to our trains!

Pennsylvania Railroad signals galore!! As someone who railfans this line quite frequently, thank you for uploading this. You have captured many of the PRR signals along the route that you can only see from the tracks!

That was on a Sacramento to DC and back trip, we took the Coast Starlight from Sacramento to Portland, the Empire Builder from Portland to Chicago, the Broadway Limited from Chicago to Philly, a Metroliner from Philly to DC, the Cardinal from DC to Chicago and the California Zephyr from Chicago to Sacramento, that was an amazing trip! We had Slumbercoaches on the Cardinal and Broadway Limited, something else I wish they'd bring back. We had bedrooms on the Superliner trains too.

Nice video, thanks! I've ridden Amtrak's Broadway Limited (which they need to bring back!) into Pittsburgh, that was back in the summer of 1991.

Amtrak did not have the demand to keep that train, nor the support of states to subsidize it. Amtrak in 2019 is only 1 million dollars short of breaking even with the changes the new CEO Richard Anderson, the former CEO of Delta Airlines, has made. They expect to operationally break even for the first time in history in 2020.

can you answer a question, and its just a matter of where I am somewhat sure of,does the train going south, cross the bridge? or does it stay on the side where the station is?

+Marky mark Must be in the morning. It was darker in the beginning of the video. On arrival the day looks brighter.
      With kind regards. Wolfgang (city-n-town.com)

I think they dumbed down this station. ive seen pictures of what it looked like in the 60s and it had somewhere like 8-10 tracks. now it has like 3 1/2.

Surprised it's taken this long for a reply, but. It's cause back in the day there were so many trains out there for it. Way less, now.
I mean everyone knows the Broadway limited, but. There were a TON of other trains that served that station.
      Not so much anymore.
