Nokdara or Nok Dara is one of the charming offbeat destinations within roughly 28 miles of Kalimpong's main town. Nokdara in Kalimpong, apart from the tourist crowds, is quickly becoming a well-known tourist destination.
From the Lepcha word "Nok Hlo," the term "Nokdara" was created.
Nok in Lepcha means dark, gloomy, or cold, whereas hlo signifies hills.
However, the local Nepalese specifically gave the location the name "Nokdara," where "Dara" is Nepali for "hills." Nokdara, a brand-new tourist site with breathtaking views while encircled by mountains and woods, is situated between Lava and Lolegaon, two well-liked tourist destinations in Kalimpong. A total of 2.5 acres of land have been used to construct the entire Nokdara tourism complex. A 10,000 square metre area has been used to create the lake. Alongside it, lovely lawns and gardens have been built.
Visitors can relax while taking in the lake's boating activities.

A little hill community in Kalimpong named Nakdara is located 5,600 feet above sea level. Only 26 miles separate Nakdara village from Kalimpong, which is situated between Lava and Lolegaon. Sambiyong Tea Garden is right across the street.
Anyone wishing to travel to Nokdara may do so by hiring a cab from Siliguri, Bagdogra, or any other surrounding locations. The closest railroad station is NJP. In order to get to your attractive Nokdara Jheel in Kalimpong, you can therefore take a train to NJP and then hire a car or cab for Kalimpong. The closest airport to Nokdara is at Bagdogra. You'll see a lot of automobiles running to Kalimpong as soon as you land at the airport. To visit Nokdara, you can either choose a day sightseeing towards Lava and Loelgao from Kalimpong OR else you can stay either in Lava OR Lolegao and visit this place as a sightseeing option.
