The lack of consistency on this channel about what is and isn't a natural position of a hand or arm is astounding.
The center ref was asked after SEA-VAN about one being a handball and one being not, he said "The arm of Seattle No. 5 was deemed a barrier in an unnatural position where as the other was not." So nothing at all about a foul or not by Morris. Just a bad interpretation of the rules, and when the VAR is the same guy that gave the bogus Red in POR-Quakes it doesn't leave much hope for getting calls corrected.

I actually think these were pretty clear on not being natural. I've said many times that I pretty much have given up trying to figure out what they think is natural (they being PRO; not MLS' Wiebe).
And VAR didn't give a red in SJ-POR. They decided it wasn't clear and obvious to recommend a review. Big difference, but still I don't like it. Again, I've given up trying to figure out handballs.

  • @sephlar
    @sephlar Před 12 dny +11

The problem with Andrew's take on the Vancouver handling for the penalty is that earlier in the match Morris was pummeled from above on a play he did not move. He was called for a foul. So if that is the game that the official is calling, he can't then call a foul against Morris when the situation is switched.
This was clearly handling as was Nouhoo. The two handling issues are similar and to go to the monitors and check one, but not the other is a failure on the VAR. And lets face it, the VAR has failed the Sounders on many occasions this year. The Sounders again have a season in which DisCo has had to come in and remove a send off that the officials incorrectly gave. Time and time again this season the officials have incorrectly made calls that have cost Sounders points.
The Sounders are having a terrible start. AND most of it is of their own doing, but when you have a number of not just questionable... but WRONG calls... it make you feel worse than PL teams having to deal with a cheating champion.

Wiebe coming in hot once again with a nonsense take on the second Portland penalty, which is clearly a foul on the goalkeeper. It doesn't matter here whether the Portland player gets to the ball first because it's entirely irrelevant given that he is the one who then charges into the goalkeeper, who, per the laws, has "a right to their position on the field of play". Touching the ball first doesn't grant you a mystical right to then just barge through someone and cry foul. The crew on this one just bungled every big call, not to mention that Neville should've been sent to the stands for his abuse of the officials - and maybe he would've been if the right calls had been made.

A case for a red card in the RSLvSEA match and the RSLvCOL match and neither are covered? Come on? A flying elbow that led to a brawl at the COL and still no?
"Be sure to hit me up with those calls you want reviewed and I will....completely ignore them and go for ones that are obvious."
Haha jk most of these calls were good to review. But that last call should definitely be a yellow and not just cause it was a sliding tackle with way too much force but also because it's stopping a promising attack. Come on Weibe. We expect better from you!

Nah, where the ball hit Nouhou, his arm is tucked in. If it hit his hand, I would say handball, but it hit his elbow, which is tucked into his body and shielding his face

The ball doesnt even hit him in the hand. Straight gets him in the hip for SJ
And then the next was a 50/50 challenge, which goes to GK

I'll give the hand ball but a foul is a foul mate.
A challenge has to be shoulder to shoulder, touch the ball, and the keeper did none of those.

Player tocuhed the ball, so it is a foul on the GK. Doesn't matter if it is 50/50 there, whoever touched it, the other was getting called. I hate the call being a GK, but today's law's state it that way so that keepers can't just take people out anymore like they used to on plays like that.

I think that in the Atlanta-Nashville game, it's a foul on the Atlanta defender because Muhktar is already pretty much on the ground before Guzan even touches him. It didn't look like a shoulder-to-shoulder challenge, so I think the foul should have been called on the Atlanta defender instead of the goalkeeper

That’s a soft foul there if you give it, reaaaaal soft. But I think we all agree thags not a foul on Guzan. Dude looked like super man by the time Guzan was involved. My opinion, Hany was gonna go down the second he felt a slight touch and he did. Reeks of a dive to me

Wiebe is not unbias at all. He is on the take from Lord Garber who tells him which matches an plays to review. How do you have double the matches and only a 5 minute Instant Replay???? One word: CORRUPTION

You do realize that he only reviews matches that we tag him in on twitter right? If there's a play that you want him to review then you have to tag him with the match and when the play happened. He did the Sounders matches cause we quite literally blew up his feed....again.

For me it's a huge STFU! Nouhou clearly is turning his body and arm away while tucking his elbow from the ball. If anything he's naturally protecting himself from slaming and that should not be called a handball. FOH
