I think that everybody who loves Diana has thought about the topics you talked about in your video here. We all want her to be a prosperous global superstar. And we all have our millions of ideas how to make that happen. If a million fans have a million ideas, how many directions does that pull her and what kind of pressure does that put on her? I agree with you that Diana is one in seven billion in terms of her musical artistry. Nobody else on the planet can do what Diana does. Nobody. The only other musical artist that I've heard in my life that I compare her to is Jimi Hendrix. Jimi had to deal with bad managers and bad contracts... Jimi's heart was filled with love, but he eventually rebelled against the bullshit he had to deal with and went his own way. Diana's heart is also filled with love, and my impression is that she absolutely does not want to hurt anybody's feelings, especially those closest to her. I have no idea how Diana's future will go, but at some point she will have to make some difficult decisions, especially "Do I remain a regional celebrity or am I willing to do what it takes to go global?" Personally, I think that Diana's career will transform/evolve/mutate several times over the course of the next 40-50 years. And I'm looking forward to all of it. 😊

However a couple of comments in this column point to the fact that, exactly like you said, they want Diana to 'remain' generic. It's as if they don't want to share her with the rest of the world. Драгоценный голос - драгоценность сама по себе, независимо от материала песни, великого или не очень. Когда вы слушаете Derniere danse ( особенно - короткую версию), смутно улавливая смысл на фоне простой, в общем-то, музыки - вы каждый раз видите, как на ваших глазах происходит чудо, создаваемое только голосом этой 14-летней девочки. Разумеется, голос в данном случае - не только уникальный тембр, но также феноменальный резонанс, великолепное дыхание, всегда оригинальная фразировка, своя интонация, "слеза" или сдерживаемое рыдание в голосе, чистые, идеальные переходы из одного регистра в другой и обратно...
Когда я в сотый раз слушаю Take on Me, я слушаю каждый раз только голос. Оригинальную норвежскую версию я слушать просто не в состоянии - там ничего для меня нет.
Попробуйте представить себе большую часть песен Димаша без его голоса - они просто рассыпаются. Весь мир слушает его песни на казахском - вы что-нибудь там понимаете? А какая разница - есть голос, и этого достаточно!
Хорошо бы, конечно, иметь сильный материал в песне - но где эти великие композиторы и поэты? Их нет и, возможно, не будет в ближайшем будущем. Бриллиант в красивой оправе смотрится намного выигрышнее, но и без оправы алмаз - это алмаз. Надо работать с тем, что есть и ждать удачи. А голос Дианы, слава богу, остается с нами...Просто слушайте голос, без завышенных ожиданий, и будете, я надеюсь, вознаграждены.
A Diana é incrível. A voz dela é maravilhosa. Mesmo cantando em russo continua sendo maravilhosa. O problema que ela enfrenta é as pessoas não saberem mais admirar uma boa música. Voz única e maravilhosa. Eu adoro.

Thank you for Diana! She is unique, and there is no one like her. There are many factors that make Diana unknown. Diana is mainly engaged in creative work herself, her family and fans help her. She doesn't have producers, directors or managers, she doesn't have a lot of money to order a song for herself or pay a composer to write her music, or for advertising. Diana has not signed major contracts with anyone yet. She refused the proposed contracts, and there were quite a lot of them. She lives in Moscow, with her mother and grandmother, in a small apartment, and studies at the Moscow GITIS Music Institute. All her money comes from her small concerts, mom's pension and small cash contributions from fans, I'm one of them. But isn't that what makes her a real diamond among many performers? ..
I think she refused things that weren't right for her :) because it's very hard to market her :) but that doesn't mean she refuses on purpose contracts for the sake of staying anonymous. but YES, she's a rarity. Especially since I saw Revelation :)

I agree with your assessment. I've seen many singers get famous on a singing competition only to eventually fade into obscurity. It's hard to remember the names of finalists from AGT or the Voice. Much of their problem stems from their inability to write their own songs. Singing covers only get you so far. The music industry as a whole has plenty of songwriters that will write you a hit if you sell your soul and they'll do it all in the same 5 chords. Getting back to Diana, my feeling is that 1. she needs to write her own songs 2. she takes advantage of her natural range, I mean she can sing higher parts but her lows got her to the dance, 3. maybe she could try the musical style of Enya. I could see Diana make some beautiful Enya-esque music. I'm just spit balling here, I'm no expert. Diana possesses other worldly and captivating vocals and she should not pigeonhole herself to one genre. Lastly she needs to be happy with whatever she chooses to do.

Еще один комментарий к комментариям: по поводу песен и несовершенных текстов. Все-таки не надо путать стихи и поэзию. Тексты Марии Тарасенко (Счастье и Россией тебя зову) уязвимы для критики - но это все же стихи, то есть то, что написано определенным размером и более-менее в рифму. Вряд ли она претендует на то, чтобы их называли поэзией. Хотя поэтическую искру я лично в них слышу. В них есть хороший смысл и их удобно петь. А дальше я задал себе простой вопрос: стал бы я слушать эти песни, исполненные другими (хорошими) певицами, Пелагеей, к примеру или хоть Гагариной? Увы, нет, при всем уважении к этим и другим хорошим певицам. Мне нужен именно этот голос. Если она споет на корейском языке инструкцию по эксплуатации стиральной машины - стану ли я слушать? Скорее всего да. Не уверен, что сто раз, но несколько раз точно. После первого месяца ежедневного прослушивания Дианы я решил, что это уже перебор и попробовал поискать что-нибудь подобное, чтобы переключиться. Сколько хороших голосов в мире! И есть хорошие песни. Но ничего даже приблизительно похожего я не нашел - и вернулся обратно. Единственно для меня возможное переключение - классическая музыка. Лучший жанр - струнный квартет, Шуберт или Шостакович, к примеру. Некоторые (большинство) женских голосов звучат подобно скрипке, случаются также альт и виолончель (редко). А голос Дианы Анкудиновой звучит для меня именно как струнное трио или квартет, причем с такой же эмоциональной напряженностью.
А дискуссия получилась хорошая. Сколько неравнодушных людей! И есть среди них, оказывается, неплохие эссеисты.

Правда, поэзия не предпологает "певучести", и далеко не всегда может быть спета. На то и поэты- песенники! Это обособленный жанр. Вершина, по моему, Добронравов - Пахмутова!?
Если почитать обособленно стих большинства "хитов", то Пастернаком, Ахматовой, и далее по списку, там и не пахнет, а песня "дёргает струны" до слёз!?
Весь "секрет" в ритме! Он более первичен, чем смысл, и "достаёт" первым, потом идут гармоники с обертонами, а уже только за ними смысл текста!
Яркий пример - "Реченька"! Сначала рыдаешь, а потом долго стараешься понять, а о чем, собственно, речь!? А "It is a mans world", "Danier dance" или "Human" можно и вовсе "забить" на текст и не потерять 98, 63% эффекта!?
Музыка, всё же, царица всех искуств!

Ну, с этой точки зрения - да. Если стояла задача заполнить неким текстом с рифмами.
Проблема в том, что текст "не держит" главное достоинство Дианы - искренние эмоции. Если о том, что он может позволить раскрыться голосу, можно говорить и обсуждать, то вот выдающихся способностей Дианы именно в плане эмоционального, живого наполнения - очевидно, тощие сентенции изначально поддержать, вместить не могут, к сожалению. И тут занижение планки бьет в самое главное именно в дианином стиле исполнения...
Надо сказать, сама Диана это вполне понимает, когда говорит о песнях "со смыслом" -"иначе... не то..."
Эмоции в сентенции и плоские слова без образа можно вложить только искусственно, насильственно.
@@vlrdg Все-таки вы (и некоторые другие комментаторы) сильно завышаете планку. Возможно, это хорошо для повышения градуса дискуссии... А я пытаюсь быть реалистом. Артисту нужно петь, выступать, держать себя в форме. Со временем в памяти останутся хорошие песни, а неудачные забудутся. Никто не исполняет только шедевры. Многие замечательные девушки, гремящие сейчас в мире поп-музыки, исполняют, за небольшими исключениями, только каверы ("бомбезные" каверы, как говорит Диана). Это безошибочный путь, но насколько верный?
И, я думаю, она не мыслит в таких категориях, какие мы здесь с вами обсуждаем. Ее путь скорее интуитивный - это, как мне представляется, одно из ее очень важных качеств - сильная творческая интуиция.
Что касается смыслового наполнения: в песне "Счастье" оно, безусловно есть, Диане эта вещь очень нравится (она сказала об этом на концерте и спела, на мой взгляд, очень эмоционально). Я смотрел реакции иностранцев - некоторых поразило сопоставление любовь-страсть , некоторым понравились "сквозняки распахнутых дверей", одна музыкально искушенная дама из Венгрии заплакала (натурально).не от слов, вероятно, а именно от эмоционально напряженного (ваше удачное выражение) голоса Дианы. Мы слишком требовательны. Мы в России слишком литературоцентричны; я не считаю, что это плохо. Пока это есть, с нами еще не все безнадежно. А зарубежные музыкальные блогеры, измученные политкорректностью и бездуховностью (шучу) видят ситуацию по-своему. Молодые черные парни (американцы) убежденно говорят нам, послушав последнюю песню о России, что это очень хорошо - петь песни о Родине, что надо любить свою страну, какой бы она не была, и в печали и в радости и т.д. Для них это почти откровение, там об этом неудобно говорить. А у нас нашлась девушка, поющая такие песни (и песни о войне) искренне и настолько убедительно, что многие стали такие песни слушать неожиданно для себя (я в том числе)...
И последнее о смысловом наполнении: я очень люблю русские классические романсы. Есть много хороших романсов на стихи Пушкина Баратынского, Лермонтова. Но я удивлением сейчас понял, что к ним как раз отношусь равнодушно, а люблю (и многие любят) такие, например: " Однозвучно гремит колокольчик", Глядя на луч пурпурного заката...", "Не уходи, побудь со мною..." и другие, еще более банальные, но все равно народом любимые. Стихи не великих поэтов, слабые стихи, если читать их, отвлекаясь от музыки. Хорошая ( но не великая) музыка. Но когда их поют Лемешев, Гуляев, Хворостовский - перехватывает дыхание. Есть ли здесь противоречие?..
Возможно, проблема в том, что идентичность Дианы уже определилась, но она совершенно не совпадает, не находит места в том, что наше время может предложить в принципе.
Если присмотреться, легко видеть, что Диана - исполнитель очень эмоционально напряженной лирики, это ее стихия. Но возможно, время такой лирики просто прошло. А попытки практически в одиночку поднять это знамя - наталкиваются на отсутствие, на потерю воли композиторов и особенно авторов текстов к любому сильному движению эмоции.
Большинство попыток Дианы вернуться во времени назад превращаются в фантастический успех. Реченька, Айзек, Высоцкий, - у нее есть достаточно силы, чтобы наполнить практически бесконечное пространство эмоции собой. На этом фоне попытки современников что-то предложить, выглядят... тщедушно. Однообразные, ровные в чуть приподнимающейся вялой, искусственной, обыденной эмоции, пытающиеся как-то взбодриться сентенциями, не дающие возможности развернуться какому-то яркому конфликту, подъему, пейзажу, взрыву внутри куплеты-припевы... Благодаря удивительному вокалу они становятся более блестящими, но пространства для души больше, чем милая пьеса, дать не могут.
У этого нет быстрого решения. Все зависит от развития собственного внутреннего вкуса, опыта. И вот тут никто не знает, хватит ли мощнейшего начального заряда таланта на внутреннее упорное движение понимающей себя души. Сможет ли юная, в общем, девушка из среды и времени, где сама глубина внутренних движений не востребована практически совсем, а то, что создавалось раньше, теряется во времени, - найти в себе родственность тому, ее, настоящему родству в музыке и поэзии, и вытянуть эту нить. Ведь, это вряд ли будет осознано и поддержано окружением и непопулярно в среде общения, сверстников.
Рассмотрите этот конфликт, мне кажется, это важнее маркетинга...

@@user-df5kr6ug1h Ну еще ничего не решено, к счастью. Диана молода, полна энергии и свежестью ощущений. Если это не будет забито поденщиной и невниманием - все возможно. Надо искать для себя опору, источник, родство. В юности это не очень сложно, наоборот. Просто надо иметь волю к этому, привычку жить в таком... поле, что ли.
Кстати, пример с Авророй хорош, но не тем, что родители прямо богачи. А что человек выработал в юности собственную атмосферу, где с ней Коэн или Бьорк, нашел свой мир. Это, думается, не маркетинг, и не просто сконструированная "идентичность", а именно внутренний мир, опора, вкус, пример...

Спасибо,очень интересный анализ.Я не смогу так,но попробую) Для меня Диана это бездна,это провал в ДРУГОЕ,во всех смыслах.Я в в музыке ничего не понимаю,но чувствую,что с ней можно создавать музыку, как на грани безумия природной стихии,так и на грани тонкостей этой природы,таков ее диапазон для меня,так я вижу,она может заглянуть за любую грань.

I was watching and about to suggest Aurora as a good contemporary for Dianna and you mentioned her seconds later!
Although musically they are different I feel there are comparisons to be made in that individuality and an emotional expression of themselves is where they really shine. Not just in the music but in their presentation of themselves.
While Aurora feels like she is able to embrace this I fear that Dianna is drifting in the wrong direction at the moment.
I still hope that Dianna will find a voice that feels authentic to her - that should be the primary goal of any artist and, frankly, of any human.

Диана может петь практически всё, что угодно, но написать под неё качественную песню - очень сложная задача! В России очень сложно найти авторов такого уровня. Именно поэтому, Диана поет каверы доработанные под неё, это максимум возможного сегодня. Главное - у Дианы нет продюсера, который по своим возможностям её потянул бы. Надо собрать очень серьезную команду. Например, по большому счету, НТВ во-втором сезоне "Ты Супер" потянул всего один номер на топ-уровне - Реченьку Дианы. Хотя были другие таланты и другие отличные песни! А Диане надо сделать целый концерт или диск на уровне Реченьки!
"Реченька" - тоже кавер...
Уймитесь, ей всего то 18 лет! Отучится и всё будет у нашей принцесы чудненько!🤒

Пока Диана отдыхает, ее тут советами мучают. ))) Давайте предоставим Диане самой решать, как построить свою профессиональную карьеру. Не нужно забывать, что "дорогой" продюсер это всегда еще и кабала, и концертный конвейер. Не все так безоблачно и просто.

As a future video, consider doing a discussion on the differences between western music & European music….. style, cultural, technically training, etc…. I believe that is a barrier for individuals such as Diana. Westerners will consider the differences as I like it or I don’t….because they don’t understand or even appreciate good music.

I asked myself too, I first come to your conclusions but the most I saw her showcases and interviews the most à think she still a young teenager who still studying at school, live with her friends and family and I think you see her much more with a American view who makes young child’s superstars and brands.
Diana is not a brand or a one style singer, despite I don’t like when she doesn’t do tribals songs, but now all I want for her is to be happy with or without succès and juste live his passion with or without big carreer. I think she knows that but wants to take her time to grow up and live her childhood she missed.

The problem of the absolute majority of novice artists is the lack of their own songs! Offer Diana your songs! Perhaps you will have the opportunity to really help in its promotion on the world stage! She needs a songwriter that understands her, not another generic cookie cutter production team, you are 100% right, she needs a to become a complete matching package, looks sound and style like Aurora. Her own style but using the Aurora formula.
She need someone to write and produce to showcase her unique elements not try to recreate her as some marketable pop teen.
Hopefully after she graduates she will be older wiser and have the strength to make her 'team' go in the direction her natural and unique gifts need..

I am happy that this was published. Like many of us, I was also often wondering. I did not think that Diana's songs needed to be completely replaced, but I often felt that the released songs did not reach their real potential. Exception: I call you Russia. I really like that song.. I think Diana is still too young, and in the middle of studies, the pandemic also did not help. But right, seems like as this team works together, in a world full of different musical flavours, and the possibility to mix anything with anything else to find what's the best for her or for a specific song.. for some reason they choose vanilla too often.
Or maybe, the mainstream music these days is the reason, that makes it difficult for a young artist, who does not want to simply sign up for one popular genre or another.

@@MissSaiko just a few more thoughts, of course I am also speculating over things I see and heard in interviews...
-I am also a supporter of Rechenka, however, even if that was a huge success, it seemed to me that Diana did not really want to keep it as basic part of her programme ... in her concerts she sang initially one verse a capella... she told that it was too exhausting to perform like in the show.. now she is singing the whole song a capella. Honestly, when I heard Rechenka first, not only the tears came... I felt that someone just appeared, so special, the feeling reminded me to listening to Björk's "Human behaviour" for the first time out of the blue skies. Who would be Björk today if she had suddenly decided to turn around and sing some plain europop instead in accordance with the singing standards of the genre ?? :).
-When we are talking about the princessy style dress, singing in a somewhat more average manner, I think, this appeared during the You are super in the "Tomorrow is a lie" song. Which out of all You are super performances gathered the lowest view numbers, even if it was a song of the final of the competition...
-Earlier Diana said that her favourite song was Human (she liked to sing that one the most, comfortably lying with her range, and liked the message of the song as well). I guess, she is really grateful to Derniere danse as it started something, and the view count is so overwhelming. Only Diana knows the entire truth, why she would consider Derniere danse the final keeper.
-But overall, she is so young, I think she should learn, explore and experiment, and work together with the most diverse musicians...

The way that I see it, her biggest issue is that her English is not the best. She is working on it and this will allow her music to go global better. She is working on her upper range at this time as well. I believe that she can overcome any shortcomings and be a true world class singer for everyone.

Do not worry, this same thing happened to Morissette Amon , Asia's Phoenix, when she was younger , all she does was cover and cover again and again. And that was the big problem, and by doing covers, she didn't lose herself(her uniqueness, and everything that is part of herself) but she lost her way, And then she realized that she need to make a change ,and she did. And it worked out better than she even expected. I know Diana will follow that same path.These young artists just need time

@@MissSaiko Yes, I've been torn between both viewpoints, especially since I can't be sure what viewpoint Diana herself has on her career? When she was younger, she expressed a desire to be world famous if possible but in a more recent interview she said that she was content to "just be performing". I remember when I was young, many many years ago! I had a dream of being a fighter pilot! Things change, for you and others around you, sometimes because you want it and sometimes because it's unavoidable.

I’m glad to come across this video because it articulates what I’ve been thinking over the past week or so.
I discovered Diana’s music maybe 10 days ago. Floored by Wicked Game. Mind blown by Rechenka. Misty-eyed by Derniere Danse. Then I went to Spotify and was dismayed by the generic production of those tracks, and the sense that some force- a misguided producer? Is stifling what makes her unique. They’re expertly sung of course, but it’s the kind of music that’s forgotten amidst all the other bland pop out there.
So I keep going back to these live performances and hope that as she gets older she’ll get better representation that will allow this primal energy and unique sound to flourish.
i hope the same as you ! I hope one days she grows up artistically and we will hear what we're supposed to ! :) she's very young now and with the current political situation, I gotta give her a break :)
Regrettably, I must agree with you! I have been thinking the same thing. You could be selling a great product that is unique, which Diana clearly is, it will stay on the shelf unless people know about it. Marketing and branding/repackaging are necessary to get the word out to people and keep Diana relevant and in their mind always. Perhaps she needs a modern day ABBA marketing model and management ... A 1980's Swedish group who would have been obscure had they stayed in Sweden. Perhaps a world tour including the USA with Dimash via Igor Krutoy? But glad you brought up this topic!
Her touring with Dimash would help but she's really super unique, so I feel it wouldn't showcase her universe enough. She needs to be on a stage and fill it up with Diana vibes, not share it. She is, to me, less skilled than him in terms of range but in terms of artistic, much more unique than Dimash. Dimash is an INSANE vocalist and he will stay in history as one of a kind that comes once in a lifetime but Diana is a whole universe on her own that is NOT the result of years of training. She's just natural :)

This video reminds me of Lara Fabian who has a massive talent (arguably the best best female singer alive) and only received a tiny fraction of the fame she actually deserves. Compare it to someone like Camila Cabello who has a great team behind her (and not even 10% of the talent of Diana or Lara). I hope Igor takes her under his wing and produce something that matches her talent.

Diana's range is not that limited, though. 3 octaves starting from C3, with full access to all notes and wonderful management of breaks, is not bad. )) And a lot of tools and technics and some voices which are unique to her. Polyphonic singing. Not bad to put it mildly. ))

@@MissSaiko It doesn't depend on the vocal range (which is also genetically determined), but what you do with it. Yes, her vocal range is limited and it will certainly not get much bigger ... but she has this unique deep voice and a genetic advantage that other singers do not have or have to learn very laboriously . She has the subharmonic tones in her voice... and she lives her songs ... and she learns, in university, with her little home studio and on stage or even in the mall. I think Diana's studies are not just a bonus, it will enrich her. She wants to write her own songs. That also takes time. How many artists were burned at a young age. Diana was to be spared this fate.

А про "всемирную" известность Дианы, равно как и Димаша - это вы погорячились и сильно. Что Димаш, что Диана пока вызывают удивление оригинальностью голоса и ничего более. Один в стиле автомобильной сирены, вторая в стиле баса Шаляпина в 15-ть лет. Цирковые номера оригинального стиля и не более того, что быстро прискучат. Терпеть не могу Бузову, но следует признать, что она в сотни раз популярнее Дианы, потому как не выёживается, а поёт на потребу публике, а Диана могла бы это делать и талантливо.

Игнор полный, а реакция под вашим видео показывает, что Диана уже достаточно знаменита :)). Я слежу за реакциями западных преподавателей вокала на русских исполнителей не первых год. Их два вида, оба высоко профессиональные. Первые для души и саморазвития, вторые для тренда и самоутверждения. Первые часто возвращаются к реакциям на Диану и Димаша. Димаш - это вообще живое пособие по технике вокала. Вторые же, делают одну максимум две реакции, для галочки или вообще игнорируют "нетрадиционных" исполнителей, зато периодически вытаскивают на свет таких исполнителей, как Бритни Спирс.

When i will make the song for Diana, i will explain more about algorithms on YT. Pop sells mainly to young audiences. Diana doesn't have that for now. If i show you my analytics for this video or in both Diana reactions on Vocal Nerds, here it is is 70% men between 45-65 for this one and 95%/45-65 age for Vocal Nerds réactions (80k views for one). Although it would be really interesting to see her analytics on her channel, i assume it's similar analytics, except a bit more various on the gender and age. In all cases, there must be little young audiences. This is TOTALLY ok if you DON'T go into pop. Wiser audiences that listen more to the message and to real art will appreciate her experimental work and it will help her future work remain relevant for years later on. There's a lot of great pop as well though most this great material has influences from other styles or cultures. Derniere danse is a perfect example (a decent amount of arab influences in the songwriting, and also singing ). (In fact, I had to check out who Ariana was, as generally I don't listen to this type of music.) Don't know about Arab influences in Derniere Danse either, can't hear those myself, tried to Google for references and finding nothing, also not sure the song would be so popular in India if it had that, but I am not an expert. And yes, the NTV period was the highest point of her artistic career so far, I don't think too many people would argue with that.

And the singing by far has oriental influences, she even made other songs in a similar technique + the songwriting is not something you'd hear in the west, the sliding through notes in that way. Only the arrangement is western which is the great part about it. She also made other songs where she uses arab arrangement influences because they saw Dernière Danse worked well as a twist. And no, this kind of twists usually does well despite being in India or in another country where you'd have people hating on another culture. The twist is too subtle.

I don't know how I just saw this. I agree with you completely. Her viral performances are that ones that showcase her unique abilities. I don't see "mom I'm dancing going viral". Her non covers are pop related. They don't test the incredible ability she has. Sadly, her English isn't that clear on some songs. With Human, I had to look up the lyrics while I understood her perfectly in wicked game. In my opinion, this woman is a treasure. Given talent I can't even dream about...but her marketability on a global scale is in question.
