Pouch underwear is a relatively new category in the menswear space and brands are using it as an opportunity to increase prices with the added functionality combined with the premium materials used in these garments. I am impressed with the concept but do not think you need to replace your entire underwear drawer today. Grab 3-4 pairs and see if you love them before taking the big leap... that's what I am here for!

In college, 30 years ago, I discovered the Jockey Pouch boxer-brief. The horizontal fly, and the shape things were held in were great, and I even have some on today. I have many different brands of boxer briefs, but the Jockey ones are always a good safe choice.

This was one of the best, most informative, no nonsense presentations I've seen in general. No to be hyperbolic, but the "Sheaths" has changed my life; no squashing, pinching, or other unintentional assault and battery on "the boys"! Amen

I love the Separatec. There is no open fly, but there is a separation from the sac and shaft. It is meant for cooling. It is easy to pull out to take a leak.

I just got my first pair of Sheath underwear based on your review. I've never tried separation underwear before and I'm I have to say I am definitely a fan of this design. It's comfortable, easy to wear, and I love the easy access fly. I just wish they had more color and design choices. Thanks for the recommendations!

Thanks! Great and super helpful review! I purchased the 2UNDR and they are fantastic! Wore them to Universal Orlando and never had to make an adjustment, never rode up and band never rolled! I am super fastidious and particular about fit and these ticked all the boxes!

I've been wearing Obviously Anatomax for about a year now. For me personally they're very comfortable but it took trying all of their styles and a couple different sizes.There's a big difference in the pouches between the various styles and getting a size that isn't too small is critical. Once I dialed in what worked best I was very happy. I pretty much can't wear regular underwear anymore.

The underwear were too complicated, they have better ones that you slip yourself in and not have to worry about snaps- I can be bothered with that, just want to put a pair on and be done

'Separatec' has been a blessing as I undergo procedures for bladder cancer treatment. The transurethral intrusions cause hypersensitization at the meatus in particular.

Great review. Saxx is by far my favorite right now- vibe and platinum for everyday, quest 2.0 for active days and traveling, kinetic for serious workouts. The vibe trunks rock with less material than most of the other options. A little expensive, but life changing like they say. That said, I'm still a huge fan of Mack Weldon Airknitx. I am gradually trashing a whole drawer of Calvins and Polos for these two brands.
In January I was able to cop 30 pairs of SAXX Ultra from Finish Line for $10 a piece as they were having a clearance sale! For being 5' 10" and roughly 130 lbs finding underwear that's form fitting is difficult but SAXX are cut perfectly. I wish I would have invested in the Trunks over the standard Boxer length as they do ride and bunch on my legs a bit; most people who aren't as thin as me probably won't have that problem. For caring, I follow your logic and do a delicate, cold wash cycle in the washer and then I line dry them. Drying takes time, especially in the crotch area which makes it difficult to want to bring them for any type of exercising as you mentioned. They have accompanied me several times to the gym though, and when paired with LuluLemon T.H.E. linerless shorts the comfort is insane -- don't expect to be able to wear the SAXX afterwards as they have a tendency to retain a bit of moisture. All in all SAXX has been a pleasure to own and at the price I paid it was a worth while investment. I do think you can get at least three times the amount of wear out of a higher end pair of underwear like the ones here. How many pairs do you have in your current rotation?
I have a ~few~ too many pairs in my current rotation but I have planned to do a garment care video to make your clothing last especially socks and underwear. Moving up my priority list.
I buy the Wildmant Big Boy Pouch boxer briefs. They are a lifesaver and have been the first comfortable underwear I’ve ever had.
2UNDR is the best. With their Joey pouch, and modal fabric. Killer designs too.

The Separatec Basic Bamboo is the most comfortable underwear I’ve ever worn. It has the two pouch system and you feel almost naked.

Thank you for this great and informative video. I like how you've told and actually showed us how the underwear looks, works, how it feels to wear, how it washes and how well each pair lasts. I'ts made me want to try a pair of the Sheath 4.0. I think that there are a lot of men that don't think enough about the underwear they buy and are forever adjusting themselves. Thank you also for using the correct terms like penis, testicles etc and treating us like adults. Too many videos and publications refer to mens genitalia either with euphemisms or childish nursery school terminology.
If i could make a suggestion could you make a video about jockstraps or jockstrap type underwear if you have any experience of using them for sports or worn daily. I realise that CZcams restrictions will exclude any anything explicit. But it would be good to know how you buy these garments, sizing wise, are they comfortable to wear without having to buy and realising you've made a mistake.

After watching this video, i decided to buy some David Archy double-pouch underwear, one of the only brands to offer them in briefs, and they feel fantastic. It is extremely afforable (about £25 for 4) The fabric is like a stronger and more stretchable silk, and the it feels like im wearing nothing. The underwear suppirts everything, keeping it cool and free throughout the day. Only issue im facing is that this support can sometimes make everything look a little too big in form fitting trousers.
I imagine that he had an assignment for a speech class to talk about underwear for 20 minutes and just as he finished up the instructor goes “it was only 19 minutes, you fail.”
I thought I was super into underwear, but wow this video has really opened my options. I will say the most comfortable underwear I've tried so far is the TommyJohn Air, was purchased at $40, which in my mind, would be much better priced at $30. It's not made for exercise but if you are a huge sweater, these would not be good underwear for exercise as the fluids would destroy the longevity.

I only wear Obviously underwear and find it to be the best and most comfortable I've ever worn. No issues with rubbing at all. Gotta just get the right size. Aussie bums have been the most uncomfortable for me. I'm from Australia and never heard of 2undr. After your review I'll have to give it a go.

I saw Smaconsum Mens Boxer Briefs Underwear before, and I bought it as soon as I saw the fitness style. I have worn it to the gym for an experience. It is really comfortable to run and squat.
What are these? I've seen “Smaconsum” on the Internet, but I haven't seen “Samconsum”.

The reason Saxx has more SKU's is so you can have the right Fabric, Fit and performance for any situation/Activity! If you want to try the best Saxx All rounder, try the QUEST. I'm sure it's the same for the other brands.

2UNDR is actually a Canadian company, not Australian. Pouch underwear is for guys with bigger packages. I totally appreciated you do this review but I found the exact opposite experience with Obviously. Extremely comfortable and no wedgies. I think the reason some guys rave over certain designs and other guys hate them is due to differences in our bodies, such as height from crotch to waist, size of glutes, thighs, etc. and even where our equipment is attached. I'm really glad I found Obviously but I'm going to try 2UNDR and Sheath, so thanks for that. I have a few pair of Saxx and don't like them for several reasons including roughness of the mesh separators.
