Better albeit needs a lot of improvement. Now we need stat caps for damage, Pierce, accuracy, health, crit, critical block etc to go down or up based on school identity. 1 step forward.... 7 stops forward to go

I don’t play pvp so I could be misunderstanding how things work. But even though it’s technically a nerf to resist, I think it helps with school identity for resist schools.

The issue is they are changing resist maxes for pvp as a bandaid but overall this game is being victim of powercreep rn where players are capable of having nearly 200% dmg with over 50% resistance. I think the base stat system calls for a overhaul entirely and should focus on scaling rather than a flat percentage.
The game is just not gonna be healthy if the base stat system is running on percentage because as they add newer, more powerful items that would have to one-up the previous ones there comes to a point where players will be able to hit the cap of resistance without having to sacrifice a thing and that will affect the overall gaming experience as a whole not just pvp
My idea is for them to just rip off the bandaid and just make the resist formula 1 - c / (c+x), where c is resist rating and x is 100. For every x amount of resist rating, you will gain an additive 100% of effective HP.
If they want resist to outpace damage, they can just lower x below 100. The real question is the amount of rebalancing that would be required for a change like this. Pierce would definitely need to have its function altered as well.
So annoying that every stat change is purely based around pvp
Why? pve in this state is kill something as quickly as possbile, pure damage so what do u wanna change.

This makes me cautiously hopeful - very cautiously, because so far, KI has always managed to screw it up, somehow. In the meantime, I have a different question? What about square sockets in Deckathlon? Will we be able to add 500 health? Any note on that?
i still dont like the fact that death can still be a better storm than storm bc even though their damage cap is lower than storms, they greatly make up for it with 20% higher resist cap and much higher health

It might've been interesting if the school jewels were seperated between moderate increases to other schools to the current ones, but these would have a drawback that if fully invested to, would normalize the stats to be closer to a storm's(death may still hold higher stats with this, but it would be a small amount and trade the storm specific spells for death ones for the most part).

Fr I've been saying it for a couple months now, but the 2% that actually play pvp and are at Walaru can't support this game forever. Im all for new content, but no new players are playing the new content because you have to grind through 170 levels. Early game is just as repetitive as it always was and even more so because there aren't many new players doing quests with you.
Sucks for us pve players
Unless KI starts making changes like making the first arc f2p wiz will keep bleeding players. I don't even want to play the game anymore.
they’ve always been favoring ice when it comes to PVP updates. if they kept their primary focus on PVE, PVP would have naturally developed

Does resist still get counted after pierce so that the reminder is calculated threw the max. So 80 res on an ice minus 50 storm pierce is still 30 effective resist allowing me to still storm ward on the ice?
Thankfully it doesn't work like that. In advanced content, a stat cap on resist is a CAP. If you have over that amount of resist, it's not even applied to your character AT ALL.
If you want to check for yourself, run very high resist and then use the level scaling feature in the arena. You'll see that it'll actually cap your resist before ANY calculations take place.

I have to agree about so much being centered around pvp. Why? PVE players contribute and spend quite a bit of money playing the game.
I think we need 8 percent pierce jewels at this point in the game and not 6 still.
I’m literally making an ice to just be a tank. I don’t care if I have 5 damage, but I want all the resist and block I can get! I would love to be in a situation where hitting me would be just be pointless 😂
Hearing they are capping out what I am wanting more of is very disappointing. I don’t even do PvP, I only do questing but I’m trying to get to a point where I can quest with others, and just be the meat-shield in the fight
you can run as much res as you want in standard mode (anything and everything outside of pvp and raids) !
I think they should add a limit to brace spamming by making it 1-2 rounds ban after first use. so instead of going the entire match with brace you can at least hit someone when their brace runs out.

The resist in this game makes no sense. How does myth have that much resist, with the pierce & damage they have ? How does Life have that much resist, with their heals & hp ? Balance should not have that much resist when calculating the percentages of every other school. It should be 69%. Ice's resist cannot compete, because of the damage & pierce they have. It's too low. (The 1,000 hp they have over balance & death compared to their damage & pierce does NOT compete). Death is 5% resist from Ice's with insane damage and nearly 50 pierce. Fire & Storm are the only ones that makes a little bit of sense. Maybe up storm's resist slightly more, like 57% or so. I'm having a seizure.
It's not that ice has too little damage and pierce. It's that the pvp meta schools have too much damage and resist, effectively making schools like storm and fire worthless.
The devs want schools to be able to kill each other in a similar amount of hits. They want hits to kill the be equalized. This is stupid. The schools do not have equal opportunities for stats, nor are the utility of their cards equal.
Effectively, Ice, Storm, and Fire either get killed faster or kill slower than the other schools they face because while these three are trying to squeeze out as much as they can from their rigid stat requirements, spirit schools and balance have free reign to tack on extra shit, as well as having more diverse and effective utility.
Definitely a step in the right direction.
Hear me out, power creep is occurring. So, rather than doing this tedious max stats stuff. Just increase the stats of everything? Including pierce on gear etc. Realistically, way more hp, damage, resist, pierce, etc will feel like the game has over the years. But, has that not been exactly what works?
Unless I’m missing something, this doesn’t change anything. Any extra resist past the max cap/limit for resist just acts as resist “insurance” before the damage/math calculation is applied. So if you have 95% storm resist (through wards & resist pins) and the limit is 60% resist in PvP for your specific school, then you shouldn’t be affected if the opponent has say 25% pierce. 95% Resist minus 25% pierce leaves 70% resist but since that’s still over the effective limit, your foe will be still resisting your hit at the capped 60% limit as stated before instead of at 70%. If you pierce say 60% on a foes 95% Storm resist, then their resist is at 35% since you pierced through their extra “resist insurance” past their limit. This means your enemy still benefited from going past the max limit for their school because otherwise had they only had 60% resist, you would’ve pierced it all & the foe would’ve taken 100% of the damage you would’ve dealt.

I do remember that old system because I think it was Ratbeard's stream where the answer/question was clarified and many were still unhappy since jading/setting was basically still untouched/unaffected at that time. So it seems like it is a hard cap/limit indeed rather than a soft cap/limit.

What i dont understand about wiz.. you pay a subscription just to grind.. you have to buy rng packs for the best gear... you spend days, weeks trying to make a pet because of their unforgiving pet trait system and then after all that time and money they can just say fuck you and your time.. reasons why i stopped playing this game.. i started from summer 2009 got and i got old enough to see their greedy predatory system.. i dont understand how these changes exactly make the game better when wiz isnt growing, no major new players.. its jus the same people from a niche market who grew up playing this game..

All the stat changes around pvp are because of people like this guy... He calls stuff stupid but the only thing stupid is everything with him being about pvp... Your meta is different than our meta buddy smh.. lowkey never watching his videos again til he starts pve content.
