Undertale was probably one of the best story games i’ve ever played, not to be cliche. It was serious enough at points but never stayed that way. It used it’s humor to keep engrossed but never fully immersed so that you could remember that you’re still playing a game. And the thing thats probably going to stay with me the most is that no matter what, the happiest ending isn’t truly the happiest. You saved everyone. Except for the one that needed to be saved the most. Even with everyone finally getting their wish, there is one little boy that will never get his happy ending. The angel in the deltarune isn’t the fallen human, it’s asriel. The “angel” that would either doom the underground, or save them.

I started crying as soon as you sang the lyrics: "Asriel's trapped all alone..."
A child walks into a house painted completely in grey. Exploring the empty house, the find a knife and a heart-shaped locket in one of the bedrooms. When they open the locket, golden flower petals fall to the floor. They continue on to the basement. When they enter, they are greeted by golden flowers growing. One of them isn't like the other though, and talks to you, telling you a story. At the end of the story, it tells you that you must kill someone to go home. You continue on after the flower disappears. Soon, you find a big goat monster with his back to you tending to the golden flowers. It would have been so easy to kill him if they had wanted to, but they would have been disappointed in themself if they did that, so instead they greet him kindly as if he wasn't the only thing left between them and their home.
Then, the king asks if they would like tea. They say yes. While both are drinking tea, the king talks to the human. When both are almost finished with the tea, the king says that he wishes he didn't have to fight yet another child, or that the children he fought were at least allowed to grow up.
Once the human finished their tea, the battle began.
After a long, grueling battle, the human convinced the king to let them pass. Once they walk by, the flower from before appears and absorbs the seven heart-shaped things in jars just a few feet in front of you. The flower turns into an intimidating goat monster, who towers over them.
Once more, you fight to convince them to let you by without anyone dying. Once you've achieved peace once more, the goat monster breaks the barrier keeping you trapped with the monsters underground, and releases the seven souls, becoming a child, wearing a forest green shirt with a leaf green stripe and brown pants, rather than the black tunic from before.
The monster reveals his name to be Asriel, stating that the story he told you before as a flower was the history of the Underground, missing one important part. His part. He proceeds to tell you about himself and his sister, a human who fell down just like you had. Even though you had only ever heard of seven other humans had ever fallen down, you knew he was telling the truth.
Then Asriel revealed the forgotten human's name, "Her name was Chara."
After that, he said that he didn't have much time left and hugged you. As he embraced you, he started phasing in and out of existence.
Now, thirty years later, you tell your grandchildren the story of the monsters once more, and how all but one were saved. You close your story by saying, "One child has been forgotten, what was their name again? Escaping from any feelings, he called me his best friend. Dust spread throughout the garden, a memory lost in time. Face your fate:Make every step count. You have to make your choice."
@Gabrielle Tapper It was intentional for at least some of the things I missed or had incorrect. I don't know if you noticed more than what I wanted or not, but the story was only heavily inspired by the song. Thank you so much though!

I imagine that you would hear different things on that line depending on what route you're comparing the song too. The first one is if you are playing pacifist, as you have no need for it and it scares you that there is one. The second one is seen as to why you made the choice to kill them all. Why you abandon the life you could've had. But that's just my thoughts.

I live in Russia, a country where there is very little mutual understanding, hopes, dreams, loyalty and care.
Before meeting such a character as Asriel, I was not a very good person and always thought about myself. Now I am 18 years old , 6 years ago, on September 16, I met Undertale, my friend argued with me that I would not be able to pass this game, because it is boring. I decided to pass, yes, at first it was boring, all my friends stuck to Sans and were already preparing to draw vulgar stuff, well, I passed the neutral, Flowey told me that this is not the end, there is another ending, well, sir... I decided to try to load the save and exit the castle of Asgore, the same call... and... Here, the moment when Asriel finally became himself, I liked him immediately, I saw that he was hiding something...But what...I thought.
And so, the same flashback with Chara, the music of his theme, my breath caught, I realized everything... i'm pressed the button...He began a monologue.. I couldn't hold back my tears anymore, I touched the screen with my palm, wanting to pull him out of the game and hug him tightly, and by the end of the conversation I was already crying very hard, even my parents came into my room...
After that, I listened to Asriel's melodies a lot, drew him, read about him everywhere, anywhere...
But the most important thing for me is that I have changed a lot..
My ego was replaced by a very strong empathy and humanity, it was as if I fell in love with people... I began to help everyone around me who asked for it....Of course, within the framework if it is a reasonable help and will not cause harm to others! Now many people with whom I talked say that I pulled them out of the loop and helped them a lot. they became cheerful..
But... This empathy is so strong that I pour tears every day, every day, listening to this melody... And yet, I began to notice that I am very similar to Asriel, and even history... I say this in all seriousness, and my friends and even family have confirmed it! ( Yes, my mother knows this character ) It's a very, very long story to tell...
Because... It happens that just one perosnazh can change your life forever.. For me, this is Asriel. I will never forget him, he is always with me, in my soul, I am him... I will always take care of people, and no matter who they are to me, I just want to help everyone, those who really need it and will definitely help other people in the future. For example, I plan to become a Doctor and save human lives..
