I've been an alcoholic since I got out of the service 11 years, a couple of weeks ago I admitted myself into a Veteran rehab. I've been sober 21 days now. Anyway, I cooked these last night for the other Vets here and it was a HIT! Love making and sharing your recipes Kent, keep em comin!
Congratulations on being sober. Keep up the good work. You can do it. I have a few alcoholics in my family so I know what it can do.

For all of you "On the wagon", keep on keepin' on! USN 73-77, had my share of elbow practice. However, in January 1996, decided it was time to give it up. So far, haven't fell off the wagon. Stay strong folks. All the best, take care.
I wish my sons father would get help. He became an alcoholic. It breaks my heart that his son will not get to know him bc he’s a really great guy without the alcohol. Anyway may God continue to walk with you on your journey 🙏💕

Shannon and Kent, we have been watching your videos for at least two or three years and have tried a number of your recipes and, without fail, we have loved every one of them. I just finished cooking your sloppy joe recipe and Chris and I just about wore out the carpet in the living room doing a happy dance after we ate as much as we could manage. I am 79 and Chris is 69 and both of us are retired from nursing and mental health. We live in Northeast Indiana about 20 mi north of Fort Wayne and the last time I rode a horse was at Pokagon State Park in 1968 about 2 months ago Chris and I went to a rural Western store and spent $800 on full-blown Cowboy outfits and so we are sort of kind of cowpokes. May God bless you both for all of the wonderful recipes as well as the spiritual messages that you transmit to all of your viewers. God bless you both, Larry and Chris
Larry and Chris we thank you so much for sharing and they are some good eating
All I have to say: ” I'm making sloppy joes”, my husband's (of almost 51 years ) eyes light up and I get so much praise. Just good ole food!
God bless you Kent and Shann.
Hi, your review was so much like a review I posted. Sitting here trying to figure out what to make for our first Church fellowship meal during high prices. My husband almost turns into a 10 year old over sloppy joes. Making them tomorrow. Married 39 years. Thank you for sharing.
just like that doggy's eyes at the start of the video! :-)

I made this same recipe but added 16oz of cheddar cheese, half a block of velveeta, a tub of sour cream, and extra salt and pepper and it was pretty good.
awww thats so sweet, and happy 52 years of marriage now
Childhood memories come flooding back watching this, I can almost taste sloppy joes that were my favourite comfort food as a kid. I also miss my Mothers smile as I wolfed them down. She died last Christmas but that smile will never leave me.

Rockstar cannot contain this talent. Kent will break the servers with his food dance, and I won't hesitate to end Cripps if he talks crap about Kent at camp.
Make it a collectibles mission. Cookie, the camp chef, has his grandpappy's recipe book stolen by a turkey vulture. John Marston shoots the vulture, but the wind carries the pages to the ends of the earth. Each page contains a different real-life mouth-watering recipe that John must return to Cookie.

Side mission: Cowboy Kitchen
Admittedly, I'm not a very good cook. I can follow a recipe well but I haven't much experience in the kitchen. Thanks to Cowboy Kent, my family and I just experienced the BEST SLOPPY JOE'S anyone has ever had. I even took some over to my girlfriends family(her father is an amazing cook) and they too were blown away by this magnificent recipe. Thank you so much for your positivity, it's very much needed in these turbulent times. Big thanks to Cowboy Kent and everyone behind the scenes as they help make the world a far more enjoyable place, all while helping out the novice's like me improve upon their skills in the kitchen!

We've been following this couple for about six months and tried a number of Kent's recipes, here's our take on things:
The 17 pound ham with his rub and using mesquite/hickory we smoked in a Weber grill - fastest I've ever seen 17 pounds of meat disappear
>The sloppy joes were unbelievable, best I've ever wrapped my gums around
>Served his cheesy steak fries and had a minor riot at the table when we served 'em, had to fight our way through to get a serving of the things
>Have used Kent's recipe for chicken fried steak on pork chops...they stayed moist and we found we all ate too much - big surprise, huh?
>Cooked up a batch of his grilled stuffed mushrooms at Thanksgiving and went through four pounds of them in a hurry - people ate until they weren't that hungry for the main meal.
All in all, cooking with Kent and Shannon's recipes mean some good eating and yeah, the folks who came and shared meals with us loved them. Keep it up, and thanks!
Thank you for watching Tim and for sharing with folks
That chicken fried steak batter he makes with dehydrated eggs definitely is the secret, I’ve used it for other things and it is so much crispier.
Minor riot at the table.... I felt that. Time to do more push-ups if you didn't get your first
This sounds delicious. Going to try it.
oh Tim you're making my mouth water
My grandfather was a good ol cowboy almost his entire life, rough and tough man with his wrangler jeans and boots and always taking care of his family. Watching Kent makes me feel like I’m watching him. He passed away in 2017, two weeks before I had my first child and his first great grandchild and he was so excited but never got to meet her.
Rest in peace :(

Cowboy Kent, a few weeks ago I made your sloppy Joe’s for my family, it was a huge success!!! I haven’t been able to work because of disability, so I propped up my smoker and cooked for the construction workers by my apartment. They all loved it! I didn’t charge, seeing as it wasn’t my recipe. But I just wanted to let you know that everybody I made the sandwiches for loved them! God bless!

Who even leaves dislikes on these wholesome videos? It's simply mind boggling.
I dislike not having that Smell-O-vision, or capacity to download that sloppy joe. Especially when Cowboy Kent is doing his best to describe what he's making.
Probably city kids who grew up believing that people that speak in country slang with an accent are ignorant 🙄. Whereas I grew up understanding people like this have a great many skills . They aren’t afraid of working hard and long. Whereas The thumbs down folks are most likely the kind of people who look down on others. They don’t talk country .......they use superior intelligent language like f- k, f-king, f-ker and use the word like, like it’s like a real like descriptive like term. 😏
@@deborahgrantham7387 I hear your sentiment. Country folks can be skilled. But prejudice happens in the city and the country side. It comes from insecure people that feels the need to put others down to feel better about themselves.

I'm 75 and have been making sloppy's since age 12 when our mom went back to work. I became the daytime cook as the oldest. I have done ketchup and Worcestershire sauce to most anything else. I even went to Key West to study the original which to me is still about the best, however now I have to try your formula too. One suggestion my mom taught me. Use that spoon to push a dent in each side of the bun, and maybe even toast it a bit to keep all that goodness from falling in your lap!
Well, I'm 66 and I just added my version above. I'm thinking I was around 13. Got an upvote from me Ken.
I’m not eating it if it’s not approved by the beagle 😎🐕
Yep, he should have got doggie approval, shame shame for not giving those doggies a taste
Onion is toxic to doggies
Cowboy Kent doesn't feed the dogs onion. It is not safe for them to eat.
Also after how many times he mentioned he had repeat customers and no leftovers, hes gotta have as much slop as possible on hand for all the joes.

Kent just wanted to say thanks for posting this recipe. Found it about a year ago and realized I’d never tried a good sloppy joe until I made this. I didn’t have your chili relish and used some rehydrated dry Mexican chilis (puréed em in a good processor with those canned chipotles in adobo sauce). When I make sloppy joes, I usually use the top of the bun as the bottom, it's usually thicker and can soak it up better than the thin bottom.
And now I have learned a new thing today. Thanks!
So true. Someone needs to tell the bun makers to cut them better.

America really has a huge culture in country cooking that often goes ignored. Please try some recipes!!!
We frontiered hostile lands and because of that we often have foods that are high in fat and protein and densely packed calories. It made us fat today but 200 years ago it made us survive.
Check out biscuits and gravy. Sloppy joe. Stew. Pine beer. And everything else in between! Bland cornbread turned delicacy with butter and honey! Fish with acidic garnishments and tomato's which were native to north america at the time
