1963,my first time I heard the Thee Midniters at a dance hall Church so much fun dancing. I still listen to wiilie G and thee midnighters.God bless you all.
Nothing wrong with playing Santa Fe Springs Swap Meet. Some of my buddies play in very well known groups & love to play here because it brings family and friends to our local spot everyone knows and loves and holds dear. You feel closer to your friends when they do play here. I've always loved Santa Fe Springs Swap Meet ever since I was a kid & I hung out with my uncles who were all either Gangsters & or Paisas. Its an Honor to see the homies name on the Big Board when they are gonna play off the 5 & or Alondra Blvd. Viva La Raza y La HUELGA!
This will never be Thee Midniters without the original vocalist Willie G. They may attempt sub in posers like Greg! But will never come close. Much love, to the "Originals"
They may never be the same, but that doesn't mean they can't sound great regardless....and why would you want them to stop and not reach a whole new generation and give one last hurrah for those who are in their last phase of life and want the memories and nostalgia.Stuff like that is why Chicanos keep holding themselves back.Adelante!
No matter how you slice the Midniters they are bad and a legend in our own times. Williw G still perforsm as the OG Midniters. Just went to one of his concerts at the Gibson Amp at universal Hollywood and they were bad asss. Oldies But Goodies forever Chicano Power !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My sister went to Garfield high school with a few of them I was only 8 when they sang on stage at the Golden Gate theatre there songs remind me of my family love them ❤️
I listen to the miniters growing up in the 70s and also go to the same chruch they went to in hunnington park with pastor samual gumboa and family god use lil willie g and his band to reach out to people for gods kingdom jhon 3:16❤❤
Not sad at all!!! They do it so families can enjoy there music and everyone can get together, and have a good time, and not pay alot of money! they are awsome for doing this, espessialy, when they can charge the big bucks when they play eles where!!!! Midnighters are awsome! keep playing your music, we love you!
grew up in east side buena park went to the La mirada swapmeet every week .. i saw e.t. there too.. then they realized it was actually in sante fe springs .. back in those days it was all about tapes , booths selling this music were all over there... memories
@barriobajaj Greg Esparza is the latest member to sing for Thee Midniters. He grew up singing his favorite Chicano oldies bands music in his hometown La Habra and wished he could one day sing with Willie G and Thee Midniters. Greg became known in the East LA circuit and was asked to sing with Cannibal and the Headhunters and perform with them. Today he stands as the lead singer for Thee Midniters.
crazy video, por eso mis compas, let's take and save the good times we have today and ask out there who you know que sea un DUKE que les comparta su historia
, yeah homie they made they made their own music to Willie G and the midnighters they got their own music just letting you know homie or homegirl whoever I'm talking to right here I'm not too sure it's AKA Cornejo
" Thee Midniters " did almost nothing original. They took classic hits and rework them to suit the audience they were playing for. Their job was to entertain the fans not to come up with something brand new in a studio and make a lot of money for themselves and the record companies. Here is " Going Out of my Head " written by Teddy Randazzo and Bobby Weinstein in 1964 made a huge hit by " Little Anthony and the Imperials " and adapted to this audience at the Santa Fe Springs Swap-meet 2009. Notice the appreciation of the non-paying fans at this out door setting.
Amen brother! The Lord always takes care of us.
I could listen to their music over & over again and NEVER be tired of hearing them
This is awesome! Hard to believe it's been almost 12 years since this video.....God Bless Thee Midniters!
