I cannot sit through a whole AEW show it’s just impossible for me.
That was sad. TK seems like the guy that never had friends growing up and his parents never showed any attention or appreciation for him. Now he has this fixation on getting praised like in the first 2 years of AEW, even if he has to force it.
Reminds me of a private religious school I went to for 2 years. My arrival coincided with a new principal and every 6 months, there would be a weird celebration at around 10 AM where everyone would be instructed to write a letter to the principal, thanking him for doing such a good job. Not a joke. This isn't unprecedented.

@@jayharv285 I understand the previous principal had been hated by staff and students. It was a small school. In any case, it was still weird. As long as you said something negative about the previous principal under your breath, you were fine. But that school was full of rats. The principal's kids actually went to the school, so if you got blond highlights in 1998 like every teenage guy did, one of his kids would rat you out, or one of their friends would rat you out. If there was something ungodly and cool going on, it wouldn't be long before one of the kids would infiltrate the group, find out what was happening and spoil it for everyone. I remember I got frosted tips once and of course, the middle son was the first person who saw me and the principal threatened to expel me. Meanwhile, the star basketball player got the star volleyball player pregnant. He was given a 1 week suspension that turned into 3 days because of a convenient long weekend and his girlfriend was banned from the school because they felt she was a bad influence. You know, a pregnant teen might "glamourize" teen pregnancy. Because as every woman who's ever been pregnant knows, pregnancy is so much fun. I saw her visiting the cook, who doubled as a counsellor, at the back of the building (which was also a church) and she made a frantic gesture at me not to say anything and I gave her thumbs up. Ridiculous. Poor girl.

Here's one example of how expensive it is to travel with a bunch of semis and tour busses. I read an interview with Dave Mustaine from Megadeth where he stated that it costs $10,000 per day, to be somewhere that they AREN'T playing, if it's a day between shows. That's for a four-person band and their techs and road crew. But Megadeth is actually making money at their shows. Imagine how much it must cost to travel for an entire wrestling company to put on shows in arenas that are WAY too big for them.

AEW fans are so blind to logic that they think this was a good idea. So, the owner building himself up is a good thing.
Like everything else in AEW, they forget it’s going out to a worldwide audience. It’s all Funtime for them and their friends only.
I remember at WrestleMania 20 Vince went out and thanked the fans and they chanted Thank you Vince and he teared up. But they didn't make graphics telling the fans to do that, they didn't send the talent out for it either.

This "Thank you Tony Khan" thing reminds me of a phrase we used a couple of years ago in Germany, when Angela Merkel was still chancelor. We used to say "Danke Merkel" (Thank you Merkel) in a pretty sarcastic way to express our dissatisfaction with her (often very bad) political actions and decisions. I can't help but interpret this "Thank you Tony" thing the exact same way. 😄
