Putin once said what good is the world without Russia? The answer: It is very good!
The world without russia, would be approaching goodness. I'm struggling to think what exactly we would be missing without russia. I'm inviting opposing views. Ok, they made us build better weapons, what ELSE
I don't want to sound unnecessarily clever or counter-intuitive, but I think the real problem, in Russian society --- as it is in all societies, in their different ways, some good, others not so good ---- is that the RUSSIAN PEOPLE yearn, one generation after another, to have a dictator, a strong man, a tsar (by different names, titles, labels) to rule over them... because they don't believe they could handle ruling over themselves with modern leaders who don't always tell them, like Trump and others, that it is THEY WHO WOULD SOLVE EVERYONE'S PROBLEM, no one else.
"I am the only one to solve all your problems," Trump has always said. Ad did Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot, Mussolini, Pinochet, Adi Amin, Saddam, Jim Jones, Gaddafi, Castro et al.
We always blame one "evil genius" for putting his big shinny boots on the necks of everyone else in society. But the truth is, one man could never do that. It's always the people who WANT someone like that, or someone different but similar to that. From one segment of the populace or another, the bigger or the smaller segment.
And, so, the people NURTURE and PROMOTE such ruthless personalities... one generation another another, one country to another.
People and citizens who truly don't want a strong man, a dictator, a killer... to rule over them --- even if that idiot declares, like Trump, that "I am the ONLY MAN who'd solve all your endless problems" --- they find a way to get rid of such a man and others with similar dictatorial ideologies. And they go on to NOT NURTURE such individuals, as a people and as a society....
In the US.... right now.... the MAGA folks, the Christian Right/Christian Nationalist folks think Trump is the only one who'd save America from ruins... the only one who'd return America and the American people BACK to what they were like 50, 75, 100 years ago, times when leaders and politicians and politics were better, where there's real gentility, law and order, tolerance, democracy, fairness, and other BS like that... And those folks say they'd rather die than have Biden or Romney or any others as leader....
But we've seen THAT MOVIE many times before, in different societies, throughout the world... It ALMOST NEVER END WELL for the people, the little people... regardless whether such a Messiah like figure was from the extreme Left or the extreme Right, whether he's religious (pseudo religious, with masses of cult-like religious people following) or agnostic/atheist.... when you have nut cases declaring society can't function without HIM --- with THRONGS of followers screaming, crying, and pleading that, yes, HE IS RIGHT, without him, they and society are going down the drain, etc. and so he MUST become leader, for now and forever, ruling over them ---- it usually is a sign something bad is going to happen...
Russia is probably OK in this world. But not when it's controlled by the bunch of gangsters who are running it now....

I look every day to see if another refinery has been taken out, or another military manufacturing facility. This is the key to ending this war. I am delighted to hear Cameron again state a British challenge to all allies to allow Ukraine to use western weaponry beyond the borders of Ukraine. Sometimes leadership and example is all that the UK can bring, but it has set the pace on support time after time.

That statement has been rescinded already and newspaper thrown under the bus. Ukraine has already lost 60% of its thermal and hydro power-plants. and have been only able to damage Russian exports of oil by 5%. Refineries get repaired quickly because a drone that hits it cannot carry more than 40kg of explosive. Meanwhile them powerplants get hit with 1,000-1500kg munitions. The key to ending this war is to stop all supplies to Ukraine and focus on peace plan. Because in reallity there is no way Ukraine can recruit much more meat to throw into the grinder.

Coloring Easter eggs has been a strong American tradition and continues to be. The Ukrainian communities in Western NY (Binghamton, Rochester, Buffalo) like to display their pysanky collections to the public. They are amazing.

I am still amazed how so many people can be so naive? We all know what russian leadership stands for. Why did the world not get together two years ago to stop russia? "Go home russia, you are drunk". We can't have people just taking territory willy nilly. 3) Russia is sufficiently disabled that it cannot threaten Ukraine or anyone else. Our security is under threat as well. 4) Sanctions and or whatever it takes continues until Russia fixes its regime, preferably with all war criminals from Putin down facing justice in The Hague. Even if war stops we cannot go back to dealing with those monsters in the future as if they dod nothing. 5) Rinse repeat for Georgia, Moldova and perhaps others.

There was a video posted 10 hours ago of around 12 Russian soldiers that were travelling along the South bank of the Dnipro River, when their boat reportedly hit a mine, sending the troops flying into the river,
The mine may of been one of their own that floated away when they destroyed the Novo Kakhovka Dam,

It's heartening to see Ukraine has made significant progress by incapacitating Russia's refineries (already). I pray a prayer of thanks for Ukraine's victory over Russia, *every* day. #SlavaUkraine 💜
We (in Switzerland) have the Easter-tradition to paint eggs using the skins of red onions, providing a nice brownish-reddish appearance for the eggs. And on top of that, we collect herbs in different shapes and bind these very tightly onto the eggs during the process which causes the color to become golden on these places ultimately showing the shape of the used herbs in a very bright golden glow in the darker brownish-reddish background.
Some French TV specialists believe that the FSB is trying to better control the russian army which is considered to be too independent. They say that perhaps Shoigu is next.

Easter is called "påsk" in Swedish. We also paint eggs, but usually several colors on the same egg, it can be different motifs or patterns. We also usually compete by knocking eggs against each other and whoever has a whole egg wins. We celebrated our Easter in the last days of March.

Hi Anna, yes we also have the same tradition of dyeing eggs for Easter here in the US. I have fond memories of helping my mom prepare the dye cups for all the different colors. Here we use not only red and green, but also yellow, purple, orange, and blue.
Feed the chickens high vitamin A stuff or suchlike, ,not sure,, , then eggs will have a red centre. Dye the shells blue to yield red , white n blue . But russia too has those colours, and France and Netherlands, maybe Czech republic..........
