'
p.s hope your knee is healing with ease.
Thank you so much for your video Michael - the practice has strengthened and eased by body and mind over the last couple of challenging months. I’d love to hear how this video can be used when increasing the number of repetitions. There’s something so peaceful about your approach, voice & rest between each practice which I want to retain without leaping up to pause and unpause. IGrateful for any suggestions. Alison 🙏
Thank you Michael the best video on the 5 Tibetan Rites ! 🌼💗🌅🌸🌟🍀
i did this for the first time today and i feel like i had a full body workout! Thanks for this video & all your content. Love from Malaysia
Started the practice today but had difficulty because I'm so out of shape. Cannot get on my knees because of pain. Any suggestions to ease into doing practices for ultra out of shape senior age 85?
I started practicing the Five Tibetans in May 2020 and gradually worked up to the 21 reps by weekly increments. I am 70 and have never felt better! I stopped for two months after my wife passed, but realized that I was much happier and healthier when I was doing them consistently, so I began again and do not plan to stop. Practicing them in the morning consistently seems to work best for me, before my daily activities begin. I highly recommend them - they are not as daunting as they appear once your body adjusts and grows stronger.
That's wonderful Tom 🙏❤️ may abundance, love and strength flow and keep flowing into your life. Wishing you many more beautiful sessions. Peace and blessings
You're amazing! You give me motivation! May your wife continue to rest in eternal peace.
Sorry for your loss. May your wife enjoy her new found freedom on the other side. There is so much evidence that we go on. There is no death.
As for the exercises I’ve been doing these two years now and when I don’t I notice the difference. I dance to some EW&F of Bhangra afterwards and feel exhilarated.. It’s a great workout combo!
This comment touched my heart. I would like to know how you are doing a year since. Wishing you continued health and happiness, Tom.
Thank you for sharing your experience. and my deepest condolences to you and your family about your wife. she is in heaven for sure.
I've been doing the Five Rites daily for over 20 years and do 21 repetitions of each pose. I'm 72 years old and credit the rites for contributing greatly to my excellent overall health and wellbeing.
That is truly wonderful to hear. Thank you for taking the time and sharing your experience. Blessings🙏
Did you have any difficulty when you started to do them, would love to know your experience with doing them.
Im up to 21 on all rites . I wanted to give up So many times . As i started doing this at 57. I started by building up every week . I'm proud to say I have just turned 58. And so proud I can do 21 of each rites . There are times I don't want to do it . But my body will make me wake up to do it .
Very wonderful to hear that Shirley! Keep staying healthy and don't forget to train the mind as well ;)
Peace and blessings
Great! I am close to turning 57 years old. I started practicing this routine 2 months ago and I had some contractures, but with this video I have been able to understand very well how to do the exercises and how to take care of it. Namaste!
Yes I meditate and do eft daily
@@felicitasahumada1896 well done to you. As you can see I too starred at 57 . It came up on my news feed January first 2020. I thought just for fun . I'll try it . Omg the energy . I was hooked it hurt. But was feeling better in my self.
Can anyone recommend a book about the 5 Tibetan Rites??
Thank you so much for sharing this knowledge. I am brand new at this, a baby, and I am 67 years old. I am grateful every time you say, rest, feel the body. It is a permission I have withheld from myself for years. It's sad but now I have come home . Thank you so very much. I am grateful.
Embracing rest and feeling your body is a beautiful permission, and your openness is a gift to yourself. Thank you for sharing your gratitude, and may each moment of your practice bring you peace and joy.
This is the best and most easy-to-follow demonstration of the Five Tibetan Rites. I'm currently able to do ten repetitions so far. I will keep slowly building. Thank you 🙏🌅
I love the 5 tibetan rites! Doing them for 13 years already. Body is half my age :). Great vid Michael.
That's awesome Tim. Keep it up dear friend 🙏❤️ wishing you many more beautiful tibetan rites. Peace and blessings.
@@yogalap Hi, Michael.
I am determined to include the 5 Tibetan Rites into my morning rituals.
But, as long as I do the Surya Namaskar in the mornings, how can I combine them with each other? Which one should be done first?
Hi. that is amazing. How often do you do it?
@@zaazgurts1324 Listen to your body...the answer is there :) For me a warm up for either is needed at age 59 and I am a 500 hour certified Yoga " teacher" Both have there challenges ....alternate and see how you feel.
@@auroramarieclaire4898 Daily up to 3x is the "rule"
Would love to have Michael Bijker lead a Five Tibetan Rites session with 21 reps. This one is well done and leaves me in a peaceful state. The music and "how to" reminders and transitions are excellent.
Thank you for your kind words. I am glad to hear the course resonates with you. Keep shining, Michaël
Yes pls make a video doing 21 reps
I agree. Please do a video with 21 reps. You make it so easy to learn and I know I can do this on my own, but your voice is so calming, it just adds to the experience. Thank you so much for such a calming effect. This is a GREAT way to start my day.
Yes some people do it so crazily like it's a fitness class. I'm 57 and just found this on you tube . I doing it the kelder way. By starting with 3 then 5. I'm amazed the body seem to love this exercise .
Great to hear that Shirley, I wish you peace and love 🙏
I started these exercises in the year of 2020. They're so beneficial. Many people asked me about the secret of my frish and young look. I am planning to practice them all my lifetime.
Wonderful 🙏❤️
I just learned about this through reading James Nestor's book 'Breath'. Absolutely fascinating and complements a lot of the measures I've been taking for health and flexibility. I found the guidance on when to inhale and exhale useful on this video (I have been scooting around CZcams to see how different instructors approach this). Thank you for the time and effort you have put in here - really very effective and perfectly paced. I think you will get a lot more visitors as a consequence of the Nestor book which I am recommending to all my friends.
That is why I am here as well! ❤️
I too came here partly because of that
Me too! Reading the book right now!
Me too!

You are most welcome. Have a wonderful journey ahead🙏🏽
Thank you providing the alternative position!
I have been doing yoga on and off for 45 years and just discovered the 5 Tibetan rites. A friend mentioned it. I listened to a few videos. I connect with Michael's voice, rhythm, gentleness.
What a wonderful journey with yoga spanning 45 years! It's fantastic that you've discovered the 5 Tibetan rites. Thank you for being a part of our community!
This is a wonderful follow along video and I appreciate the breath cues and rest positions. It makes the 5 Tibetans more than just a round of exercises.
Your video is my favourite , I enjoyed to do these exercises the most with you. Thank you 🙏😊
Excellent demonstration! I love how you have gentle transitions in between each posture. I needed to see this as a refresher. I intend to work up to 21 reps again through this coming winter. Namaste and blessings to you!
most excellent presentation. thank you.
You make a good job!
Thank you for this excellent demonstration of your variation of the Five Tibetans I love deep breathing and I love pumping my belly softer and calm with deeper breaths
Thank you!🙏🧘
Thanks Michael for an easy-to-follow, worthy explanation of the Tebetian Rites. I am new to this ritual and am finding these an amazing way to wake up in the morning. Looking forward to working my way up to the full 21 repetitions.

This is THE BEST and easiest video I’ve (finally!) found. It’s slow, well presented, easy to follow and the ambient music is so meditative and peaceful. I will be using this video from now on to do my daily practice. Thank you so much for posting this!
Thank you for your kind words Melodye. I am glad to hear you are taking time to do these techniques to take care of mind and body and become a light in this world :)

Michael Bijker - YogaLap learned TM when I was 14 back in the 70’s. Yoga came later. Thanks to the Beatles for bringing this knowledge to the west. It’s wonderful to see so many people practicing now. The world surely needs it. ❤️

Wonderful Guv. Keep on practicing dear friend 🙏❤️

After doing yoga for 20 years I just found out about this today! Thank you for this wonderful instructional video. I have been a full time carer for 3yrs now and I slipped to just one session of pilates a week. Had to stop that too and now I have motivation to begin a morning practice. So very grateful to have found you ❤ blessings

You are very welcome Grey 🙏❤️ glad you enjoy them and my teachings. Wishing you many more beautiful sessions. Peace and good energy!
I did 5 Tibetan Rites every day for maybe 8 years.
I don't know if that is the reason but I look 15 years younger than I am.
I'm here watching this because a friend asked me how to do them and I told him I will look for a right video (We live in different countries. )
Thank you
Now I'm doing it everyday with you. Thank you! 🍁
Wonderful!
Beautifully shown and explained. Music too is just right for The Five Tibetan Rites. I have been practising yoga and dance for 45 years and have just discovered these rites. Wonderful how life guides you onwards. After the very first practise with 9 reps of each, I felt the benefits. The new energy in me glow. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words and sharing your experience! It's incredible how life continually guides us to new practices and experiences that enrich our journey. I'm thrilled to hear that you've found benefits in The Five Tibetan Rites after just one practice. Here's to the ongoing exploration of movement, energy, and vitality. Keep shining bright!

simply perfect TY 💜
Thank you so much, greatly appreciated! :)
I teach these in my classes also. I loved your calm music and instructions. I have an older population here in Florida so I’m careful about going slowly however they have improved so much from this practice.
Thank you
🙏 Namaste
Thank you so much for your kind words! It's wonderful to hear that you also teach these practices and that they've been beneficial for your students, especially considering the older population. Going slowly and being mindful of their needs is definitely important, and it's inspiring to hear about the improvements they've experienced. Keep up the great work, and thank you for spreading the benefits of these practices! 🙏
Thank you❤
Blessed by this TY ❤

An excellent video of the 5 rites. I especially like the transition from one to the other, with a meditation pose at the end. I have been doing the 5 rites, however, I am going to add the transitions and meditation at the end. Thank you.
Thank you for your comment Ajit, I wish you many good sessions and health and happiness 🙏
Thank you. Namastè.
Thank you for this. I first heard about it when reading James Nestor's book Breathe.
I hadn't really looked into it as I thought it would be too difficult or complicated, especially for those of us who aren't very supple or flexible. This however, with slow and consistent practise, looks ideal. Looking forward to starting and this is an excellent tuition. Clear and direct. 👍
Dear David,
Glad to hear you enjoy my teachings.
If you like to dive deeper into breathwork and pranayama, I'd highly recommend you to take a look at the Breath is Life course yogalap.com/courses/breathwork-pranayama

Thank you so much for your amazing gift of this exercise - very calming and powerful :-) [I love the music too - who is it?)

J'ai appris les 5 Tibetan en Inde, ils indiquent 7, 14 ou 21 répétitions de chaque rite. Et puis les pratiquer plus lentement fait vraiment travailler les muscles profonds ..
