I am not even Iranian, I am Nigerian. But I know about the late Shah from my parents, who are so well versed in political affairs globally. My mother told me what was done to this man was disgraceful. America and England have done a lot of good in the world but also a lot of evil. So many deliberate destabilizations ,globally, to serve their own interests.Things their own citizens would never believe. I am not whinging because this side of human nature exists in every society throughout the ages of human history. What I detest however, is the hypocrisy and pretense. The Shah never understood that to be an enemy of the United States is dangerous and to be a friend is fatal. Second mistake was to say the lines: Iranian oil belongs to Iran. He should have kept these feelings to himself, keep US at an arms length and should have stayed and ride the wave when the revolution started. I think that the Shah's days were numbered when he was diagnosed with prevalent form of Cancer. It would be almost impossible to hide this condition. It was so severe that he died a year after the revolution of 1979. I haven't seen anyone discuss this.

Now I’m not sure the last shah was a king. He’s higher than that. His title in English was given the titular dignity of his imperial majesty. The emperor of Japan is similarly styled his imperial majesty. So I think a shah of Iran is closer to an emperor than a king. And specifically the Pahlavi shahs also hold the title shah ea shah - king of kings. So again this is closer to an emperor than a king. Regardless - whether he’s a king or an emperor my point remains. He’s the rightful legal and constitutional successor to the ancient monarchy of Iran and should be afforded all the privileges and protections that’s worthy of his rank and station.

i was in the army stationed in panama [ the canal zone ] and was sent to contadora island off the coast of panama where the shah and his family were to help set up a secure phone line for them . i meet the shah and his wife they were nice people and very friendly
