Continuing from the last episode, I will take you further into the world of Chinese breakfast foods.
Chinese restaurants have opened all around the world, but the dishes served there are typically Chinese lunch and dinner foods. So, what do Chinese people eat for breakfast? Very few people know.
This video captures a breakfast street in a northern Chinese city. This street includes almost all the common breakfast foods of northern China. Every morning from six to nine, a steady stream of people come here to buy breakfast and start their day.
Many of these foods are made using techniques passed down for hundreds of years. Ordinary people use the simplest ingredients, with the most perfect combinations and exquisite craftsmanship, to create the most delicious foods. You can hardly imagine how delicious a breakfast you can get here for just one dollar!
I see breakfast burritos, “pancakes”, breakfast sandwiches, etc… my theory still holds true; we all doing the same stuff, just in different mediums.
Yes, you are right. They are similar but taste totally different because the main difference of these food between Asian and Europen is the kind of sauce. We like to use soybean souce and capsicol which are totally different taste with salad and ketchep.
The food in northern China is like this, but it is very different in the south. A bowl of beef noodles with red oil and raw garlic is a very traditional breakfast in my hometown, but many people in other places find it strange.
I see Indian Food also - paratha, egg paratha, chapatis n all so copy cats in China lol
@@Dreamcatcher0007that's how food & culture integrate- trading, migration, spreading of religion, marriage, etc. to say its a 'copycat' & laughing pretty much sounds like an asshole who doesn't study & read
I agree. It is all breakfast burritos. In South Texas, USA, we use eggs, bacon or sausage, fried potatoes or beans, shredded cheese, and SALSAS of various types, plus cilantro, etc. It is all the same, just sauces according to the areas.
Those chive pancakes look great. The atmosphere of the breakfast street is also wonderful.
In this video the question is what do Chinese people eat for breakfast, me I'll have some congee,or rice soup with minced pork and duck eggs, Char siu bao, tea, water and whatever I can think of and maybe a quarter of duck with hoisin sauce and hot sauce, that's the answer as I am Chinese Hawaiian 4th generation from Honolulu Hawaii
Your breakfast is so good. Do you cook it by yourself in the morning or eat at the restaurant?
I've had many of these foods when I was in China, the food there is so good and nothing like the Chinese food in America !
i've lived in china for decades, this video still held my interest
Foods always are the the best thing recall past life. 😉😉😊
It is very nice to know that Chinese Dough is similar to Pakistan's traditional bread i.e Naan / Rotti.
Love for China from Pakistan.
Thanks, my Pakistan friend.😀
The Chinese food we get in the US is entirely different. I wish the Chinese restaurants in the US offered these options.
These foods are also not offered in the restaurants in China, which are offten offered on the street near residential zone in the morning.
Thank you for evoking cherished memories of my time living in China.🍵
Welcome to China again. 😊
Yum yum thank you for sharing. I want to go to China now just to sample all these foods. Cheap too. 🥰
Welcome to China. Highly recommend to Xi'an if you want to eat delicious food and it is also the most historical city in China
So is the rest of Asia...I want to travel thought Vietnam to Thailand
Hello I am from india this is the first time I am watching yur videos yu showing us such a beautiful cuisine and food of china thank yu so much
Hi, India friend. Nice to meet you. 🙌🙌
By far one of the best travel food videos I had seen so far. With the right amount of comments and info, it made me feel like I was there walking among the crowd trying to get my breakfast. I saw opened plastic bags placed inside the bowls and noodle and soup were poured into the plastic bags, the plastic bags were used for to go order or to be used as disposable bowls to save time and water from washing the bowls?
I'm Mexican/American and I was drooling with pleasure to see the similarities of our culture...ithe puffy pancakes...we call them pupusas(Salvadorean) Style look super appealing and delicious. I liked when the egg was inserted into the bread then flatten. Yummy 😋❤. Then what looked like a tamale...our style...yours looked very tasty 🤤😋. I hope someday I get to visit the North China area. Thank You 🙏
Thanks for your sharing that's very interesting. Hope I can see this similar food you described some day on the CZcams.
Omg talking about pupusas 😍 yuuuuuum chicharon & queso for me please 🤗😊
It all looked great. Thank you for sharing this video
Wow I wish we had all these options here in Australia
I would love it 🥰 offering in Germany too, so many different options, I love warm breakfast, yummy, yummy 😋
We know only nodules and manchurian, there our knowledge of chineese food ends.See how many varieties are there available in chineese culture.I am purely vegetarian I noticed vegetarian food also that too yummi.Outstanding video.
Almost 15 years ago I lived in Guilin. Every morning I’d get a jianbing (煎饼) similar to the one in the video for 2 yuan… I tried to make it when I came home but could not get the batter right… when I went back to visit years later, the stall was gone.
Turns out it was an eclectic stall run by a guy that was kind of winging the recipe, and it wasn’t really “authentic” in the sense that you could look up jian bing recipes from shangdong and it’d be what he was making.
Man I don’t know what I’d pay to have one of those again.
I can feel warming from your words. Food is always a bridge make us recall the past. Thanks for sharing your experience in China.
Great job capturing the delicious street breakfast foods!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Yum, I wish we could get some of these in the UK.
Maybe you can travel to China and enjoy different scenery and foods. 😜
Looks delicious!! Ill have to go watch part 1!! Thank you!
Very glad you like them, thanks! 😊😊

Excellent videos.Thank you.
And very inexpensive! Very affordable 😃👍
Yes indeed!
YAY another China channel! Subbed.
Welcome aboard!
fried foods are okay, once in a while. i am still drooling over the deep fried glutinous rice cakes with sweet filling....from the previous video
Very thanks for your comment and your comment are always encouraging. You should like next episode that will Introduce the most famous fried breakfast--Asian dough stick which perfectly eat together with one tofu food.
Everything looks delicious
Most of them look like roti or pita bread. They all look delicious for breakfast or any time of the day.
Def not a tourist place love it
I'd love to see these foods in Baltimore County, thanks for sharing 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Look delicious. Some items are kind of similar to Indian food too. Thanks for sharing the video.
It all looked so yummy😁
Thanks!❤❤❤. California here! Interesting foods! Looks good! 🙏🏻🕊🧂🇺🇸💕🎺😇
Thanks, that’s very kind of you!🙌😊😊
I'm trying some of them at home from scratch yummy!!
If only we did have areas like this here. We would be a happier, more well fed people and save more money too! China is very smart.
This kind of breakfast street is very convenient for working people. We don't need to make breakfast at home and can save time to sleep more.😃😃
It’s the meat sandwich for me @ 8:20 yummy 😋
That's very delicious. I very like it.
My mouth is drooling right now from watching all the good foods you've shown in the video. Sadly, we don't have any of those here in Florida. The Chinese restaurants here don't make them here.
Chinese restaurants in China also don't make them,😊 which are only selt on the street, so I always think my channel can offer more kinds of Chinese food which are not spreaded the world.
@GetToKnowChina At least they are available along street markets there. There is no variety in Chinese foods here. Every restaurant has the same menu.
Pastrami bagel at end! Universal
I loved this video! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
The Roujiamo (flaky pastry bun with meat) caught my attention. I’d love to try one 🇬🇧
Congrats! You have slected the most delicious one
We are about to travel to China and this is something we will try and experience in our travels. Paratha is what the multilayered flat bread she was cooking a common breakfast item in Pakistan also.
September and Ocotober are very good time to travel to China. Welcome! 😊
Greetings from Kolkata, India. It's nice to see that Chinese street foods are prepared maintaining proper hygiene.
Thanks for your greetings and comments. 😊😊
Nice video my dear friend. Keep it up 👍. I am looking for pure veg food.
Glad you enjoyed my vedio, thanks. I will provide pure veg food some day but it belongs street food , not breaksfast.
very interesting, I never knew before, thank you
Glad you like it. I guess most of countries don't have this kind of breakfast street 😂because job as breakfast vendors is very hard, they need to get up very early.
Se ve todo delicioso y...¡ muy barato ¡
Gracias por tu comentario. Te invitamos a viajar a China y disfrutar de la comida local.
In northern China it gets very cold and windy in winter. When I was there my favorite breakfast was a big bowl of wonton type soup with eggs, etc.
Wonton soup with egg is also my favorite breakfast. I filmed it in my first breakfast vedio.
@GetToKnowChina
Yes, I saw it later after I commented.. I lived in Tian Jin and when it was cold outside, that soup was just the ticket. I remember leaving the restaurant sweating.
I enjoy watching your videos. Thank you.
When I see your comment, I guess you ever lived in Tianjin. Wonton soup with egg is Tianjin special food. Other provinces in China seldom take Wonton as breakfast and don't put an egg in it. 🤝🏻🤝🏻🤝🏻
我是东北人在台湾长大,听到东北乡音,多亲切啊!
东三省近15年人口流失非常严重,人口分散到大陆各个省市,只是没想到都到了台湾了😂,欢迎回大陆北方来玩🤝🏻🤝🏻
Cusines joins heart inspite of all ill feelings towards each other . Our chefs must try for these
Looks Delicious!!! 😊
Amazing video!
Glad you enjoyed it!😊😊😊
This is way better!
I had hearty soup - delish
Delicious food indeed
I have been sometimes times in China. The chinese don't have breakfast. It's lunch, lunch and dinner😂
We have breakfast😂. We just don't make breakfast at home, especially for working people.
Chive pancake my favorite
That's also my favorite😊😊😊. The best time to eat chive pancake is the May and July when the chive is the best tasty and very fitted for making pancake.
So so yummmy. Water down from my mouth now.
It all looks delicious! Thanks for sharing this
Glad to you like it, thanks.
Looks great to me!
Different, nice it's fresh 😊
Like Giant pizza bases! All you need to do is add what ever else to it that's if you wanted...this making me hangry
Thank you for the information in english.i really enjoyed this.
Glad you like it, thanks.
I loveliness food unfortunately in my country there are rare Chinese restaurants and they are expensive.
I miss all these Chinese breakfast...
Buy air ticket to China or turn on notification to wait me update vedio😏
None of so called chinese restaurants in India even know or have ever tried to learn and bring these delicious and energy breakfast
These foods are also not offered in restaurants in China which are only self on the street near to residential zone and only were selt in the morning.😃😃
Just found your channel and enjoyed your video very much! Subscribed
Thanks, and glad you like it. 😄
Market is clean!
Vendors in this market need to pay the cleaning fee, so there are cleaners responsible for this market.
Everything looked so good. It makes me wish I could travel and see the market
Welcome to China. It's a good choice to see this kind of market if you like to experience the real Chinese life.😄
A very good vidio showing lots of delicious food. From what I’ve seen in other vidios The Chinese also eat A LOT of eggs.
Please tell me why can't eat egg every day. I am a little afraid because of your comment...
Great food review video. Thank you,.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Clean streets and clean food handling. Unlike street food in India.
Thanks, but we are not so good. Many points need to be improved, cooking without gloves, packing with plastic bags, etc. India and China develop later many years than other countries, so we need time to follow up and improve these shortcomings.
Her happy laugh
When i lived in Shanghai every morning i bought round flat breads with fried egg on top of it. Don't remember how this bread is called but it was super delicious. Oh, and of course - spicy fried cucumbers!
Thanks for sharing, and I have a question. I have never been aboard, so I am curious about if the Chinese restaurant in other countries sell this kind of Chinese street food.
@@GetToKnowChina I never seen it in other countries, chinese food is very different in restaurants outside of China, maybe it was influenced by chinese immigrants from specific places, cause your food varies a lot in different provinces. For example - in Shanghai they even eat tomatoes with sugar, so i preferred spicy foods from Hunan province instead 😄
Anything! Toothpicks, rocks,… you name it!🤣🤣🤣🤣
very nice, all.
Thanks 😁
Very nice breakfast 🥣 you don't need any lunch.
You got that right!😄
I love chinese/ taiwanese breakfast my favorite
Haha, welcome to enjoy them.😜
@@GetToKnowChina my favorite is danbing and stinky tofu and more
That looked very nice food
Awesome, I know a woman in Tianjin.
Tianjin people are very proud of their breakfast.😃😃😃
Munchy and yummy. I love Chinese food
Thank you 😋
Great! Thank you.
I had steamed buns or/and sweet rice ball. I found I do not care for sesame fried rice ball. But swat sticky rice is wonderful, but very rich for me. Love scallions and egg. Interesting…. Some scallions are stronger then others, I suspect it is the soil all grower that the vendor buys from?.
Wow, you ever had eaten so many chinese foods. Have you ever lived in China?
Excellent
😋 looks delicious 😋
Didn't know Chinese like to eat hot dogs. I think their sausages, lap seung in Cantonese, taste better.
Many Chinese breakfast foods like hotdog, but their taste are very different with typical western hotdog
helo from Indonesia - thank you, nice video
Thanks for your greeting from Indonesia. Glad you like my video.
Thank you, that was really interesting.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Ca donne envie d en manger
Haha, si tu as l'occasion de venir en Chine, j'espère que tu pourras goûter ces plats en personne.
Asian guy here. I only have coffee. Maybe a donut
It seems miserable...😂
@GetToKnowChina a DD coffee and a jelly donut. My parent came to America, raise me to be an American, then gets upset I don't speak Chinese, eat American food, do "white" things like kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, camping.
@@raymondlin8728boring
@@raymondlin8728yeah ppl like that should stay in their home country if they want everything to be the same.
Donut? Are you a cop?
It’s healthy I like it 👍♥️💪👏
I’m happy to hear that!✌️
Excellent video 👏 yummy 🤤
Thank you 😋
I wish to go there too.
Haha, it's a good place to go if visit China, Welcome. 😀
Chinese people are so hard working. Making all that food from scratch in the morning
Indeed. These breakfast vendors are very hard. Most of them need to get up before 3 am and no rest in whole year, except for heavy rain days and Chinese new year holiday. Really hard.
i’ll have biscuits and sausage gravy please
افضل طبق صيني هو وجبة الصراصير المقلية مع اجنحة الذباب الطازجة
Intrigueing to see, mouthwatering as well. Makes me wish we had markets like these over here... ❤ from the Netherlands
Haha, that is my mission to take foreign friends enjoy Chinese food by vedio😃😃
I liked them all
Haha, welcome to enjoy them. 😊
You were correct. Southern Chinee don;t eat flour or sweet.
The cuisine habit are obviously different between southern and northern Chinese.
No oily food in the morning? What you've never enjoyed a donut or sausage or bacon??? LOL
Not for me. I like oily food too. What I mean in the video is that I would Introduce some less oily food for those complain don't like oily food in my last vedio about breakfast.
What about french fries - your favourite .
Pancake and sausage..solve!
Interesting about pancakes. Almost look like pizza dough at the start, pita bread when they cooking, and some like pizza again
Glad to you like it.
