    She's playing some pf her best chess! Utterly impressive. From reaching the finals of the Women's World Chess Champion to winning the Blitz Women World Championship. She's on fire, at her absolute peak and coming for the WC women championship.

    Translation is not good enough, doesn't really conveyed what Tan said...

    Terrible audio, are they intentionally trying to make the broadcast for the women's section so hard to access and so difficult to follow?

    • @NadirAgha
      @NadirAgha Před rokem +1

      It's the same bad quality in Open Section (where men play) press conference too.
      Why do people nowadays link everything with gender differences?
      Focus your criticism on right things (in this case, overall organisation of these press conferences)

    • @marcususa
      @marcususa Před rokem

      @@NadirAgha The sound quality in the press conference with Magnus was nowhere as bad as this one. And why am I linking it to gender difference? I am not. I am stating fact. They DID NOT update the rounds in the women's section like they did in the open section.

    • @NadirAgha
      @NadirAgha Před rokem

      @@marcususa They did not cover Women's section as much as Open section simply because Open section players and levels were higher.
      There were about 180 players in Open section.
      You may as well say, why only about top 10 games were shown when there are 90 games played. Why players in 100th place (which have more rating than players in Women section and are better chess players) werenot shown in coverage?
      Becausr simply people want to see high quality chess games.

    • @NadirAgha
      @NadirAgha Před rokem

      @@marcususa And let's get one thing right.
      There is no men section. There is an Open section where women also can play, if they have met certain rating criteria. So if you are a woman and one of the best chess players in the world (like Judith Polgar) you just play in Open Section.
      And if you are top-20 chess player in world (regardless of gender) and fight for best places in Open section (where the best chess players can fight for World Rapid Champion title, regardless of their gender), then naturally people view your games more frequently too, because it's of much higher quality.
      By the way, the fact that FIDE has organized a separate Women World Rapid Championship should be already aknowledged, not smeared.
      And this women section has the exact same prize fund as Open section, and men can not play there.
      For example, Hikaru Nakamura (11th best rapid player by rating right now), was 44th and got no money at all.
      But in women section, 35 different other players much much weaker than him got prize money between 5000$ and 60000$.
      So he (and other men players) can say, that it's unfair. But we understand, that the aim is to encourage women chess to grow.
      So this whole thing is actually advantageous to women chess.
      You try to tell us, that they should have covered women section more, just because they have separate championship. But it's not the job of viewers at home to forcefully watch lower quality women games in order to give women dection the same screen time. FIDE has done it's job (good or bad). But commentary is for the viewers

    • @NadirAgha
      @NadirAgha Před rokem

      @@marcususa it's the same bad microphone, it's the same location and seats in the same venue with bad acoustic.
      How exactly did they intentionally "sabotage" the quality of this press conference vs Magnus press conference?

  • @jennyohara4011
    @jennyohara4011 Před rokem +5

    Only with womens press conference the speakers dont work proporley and they run short of time...FIDE doesnt care 1,000th as they care about their lover boy Magnus

      The translator was a 16 yo volunteer, and it was her first time at this kind of worldwide interview, she would panic for sure. Hope you will understand and support all of the workers, since they really try their bests. (And the comment is actually hurtful)
