I can’t believe this is nearly 15 years old now. Time flys. I remember sitting around a fire drinking beer and marveling at how fresh this was when it first came out.
I always love when a band is so tight and performs so well that you swear it is the studio version dubbed in, but they always do something to make it unique and prove it is completely live. Great performance :)
discovered broken bells (i listened to the shins a bit, but didnt really follow at the time) when i walked into my first lecture of university, my professor was playing it in the lecture hall while we filed in and got started. I went home that night checked out their music, and 6 years later broken bells is still my favourite band!
Best version by far. Vocals seem more passionate. This version has soul to it. The original just sounds flat to me now. Music is less digital sounding, and extended. Trumpet rules. Tempo changes are more prevalent and slightly faster. I listened to this on repeat for a year every night as I fell asleep. BB really kick it up live.

give this band a chance, i've listen all the cd and all the songs are great they have so much talent so much class, they don't waste anything , and they don't need anything else, there song are made with like a light touch so perfect keep this way

I have never heard of the Shins or Broken Bells, (been a fan of danger mouse since the Grey Album) but when I heard The High Road (about 12 mins ago) I had to buy the album off itunes.
