  • The first poem most people think of when Edgar Allan Poe is mentioned is usually The Raven. But Poe wrote many poems throughout his lifespan. His first published book of poems featured the poem Tamerlane, and was so rare it was believed to be non-existent for most of Poe's career. We're going to look a little further into the writing and publishing of this poem collection and it's impact on the narrative of Poe.

When I was 10, I enjoyed reading R.L.Stein's "Goosebumps" series. My dad told me he knew of an author who did "Goosebumps" long before Stein. He had me read "The Pit and Pendulum". I was hooked.

I randomly found this channel, and I'm so glad I did!
I have loved Poe since I was in single digits. My Grandfather would read "The Raven" to me every Halloween, it became a tradition. Some of my earliest memories are sitting on the floor at his feet eating my candy as he read. He passed when I was eleven leaving me with his copy of Poe's complete works and excellent taste in literature.

I understand the melancholy after this pandemic, when I was iis school I was fascinated with horror, so the Raven stood out, but it takes me back to Ed Wood, but a good one The Murders in the Rue Morgue, thank you for sharing.
