HITLERS WOLF'S LAIR SPECIAL EPISODE - THAN AND NOW

- In this full 2 hr Wolfs Lair special I will take you to and through the huge bunker complex in East Poland, former East Prussia, to the headquarters complex of Adolf Hitler and his staff, including Hermann Goering, Albert Speer and Martin Bormann and of course Hitlers dog Blondi.
This is where he spent 800 days of the war, ran operations and of course where the assassination attempt took place. I have compiled the many of the interesting stories and anecdotes about the people who served there as well as photos and videos taken at the site during the war. These I will share as we visit the bunkers where the many events took place.
We will visit the 3 security zones, including the security perimeter bunkers which I finally found some after my previous visits to the site. This is truly an amazing place to visit and the constructions are something you will never see anywhere else in the world. SO I took my time to show you the remaining details of the massive bunkers and I cant wait to show you.

IT is a sad day to once again be reminded that history is being repeated and nobody have learned a damn thing, women and children are still being killed and worse while people are playing politics. I suppose this is why we can here seek a refuge from a mad world and look back on history and events past long ago and find a little peace for a few hours.
It’s all being repeated because the generation that fought WW2 have mostly passed away. Politicians never would have gotten away with the things they are doing currently had they still been around. There are other reasons for what’s happening, planned many years ago, and implemented by playing the long game, but had those vets still been around, they would have crushed it already. Instead we have the generations that just lay down instead of raising hell. Gov knows best and all that. I recently heard someone say “it just hasn’t gotten bad enough everywhere yet, once it does people will fight back.” Possibly. We shall see.

@@tinostruckmann Very true. I’ve dealt with some of these young ones in the past. They enjoy shouting disgusting crap at people, especially anyone showing the slightest patriotism. They pull all kinds of immature destructive stunts. They aren’t very smart, but they are brainwashed communists and some are complete sociopaths. Not raised right. Future doesn’t look too good. I’ve tried to rally people to confront this stuff, but you know how it goes. I’ll just make sure myself and my family and close friends are prepared and ultimately safe.
I'm a millenial and Gen Z are something else, people said my generation were going to be completely broken people but we ended up being very well educated due to growing up alongside the internet as it developed - social media and the problems that it has caused came later and we werent born into it, we built it and we understand how awful it can be. Gen Z have no idea what life was like before the 21st century, millenials are the last generation to remember. For most millenials, our grandparents were the WW2 generation so atleast many of us had the wisdom and lessons from that passed down by family, however Gen Z do not have that, they have baby boomers for grand parents - a very different generation to gain wisdom from.

Thanks Tino for your research and time. I visit my mother in extended care she is 91 . They sre known as the silent generation who went through so much and still have first hand knowledge.

Thanks for the efforts, Tino. So much info. To build such a place, buildings designed to withstand arial bombings while eastern front tactics were primarily ground battles. I'll need to run the timeline between reinforcing the buildings vs knowledge of V2 deployment. A guarding against your own technologies, just in case things shift or psycho-projection.

Excellent, maybe you can someday do a video on what it took machineries, ect, to make all that concrete made and formed. People it took because, like you clearly state, all the photos are taken after completion. Seems to me like so much was wasted on all these bunkers that weren't needed that could have gone into making things they did need to win. Thank you.

Great video with lots of "spelunking" & background insights into how massive this site actually was. P.S. I would recommend that your explorer companion wear more aggressive footwear when trekking over the rubble. Slip on flats behold their very name (i.e. an appropriate pair to wear if you want to "slip on" something!).
The conversation I've had with that woman how about Footwear don't even get me started lol but she does it all over the world so I got nothing

Thoroughly enjoyed the story of Hitlers personal bodyguard Geursher? who was a pain in the ass for Himmler.But much to Himmlers chagrin survived the Eastern Front and the Italian theatre of war. Also being an Englishmen disgusted by the destruction of the Tea House,was any Earl Grey saved?!😀

Tino, I would love to take a metal detector to the site. There has got to be plenty of artifacts still in the ground despite people picking through the area over the last 80 years.
The Mauerwald complex is somewhat of a similar design and that is still as it was.Have you ever made something about that??

Where was the cement plant that batched all of this? Cement weighs about 2500 pound a yard! How many thousands of yards did it take? Had to have been a wet batch plant, possibly mobil to poor in place

The really good cement Came From Italy but they had a very specific way of making concrete something also had to do with levitation water they had a process that we can't replicate today because we're not entirely sure how they did it which is strange considering how much they built and how many people were involved in that process but certainly they were not running out of cement

Hi Tino Do you have any documentary films covering northern Italy. In particular the Bolzano and the Dolomites, including the Brenner pass?
Not yet at least not other than the Italian Fort Oga. But I will be going there in the future
There was a garrison in Tolmezzo in 44 with many additional kozacks and white Russian forces joining the axis forces at that time. Some research into this region and efforts by the allied forces in 1945 may uncover further truths about the significance of the Brenner pass and fortifications.

Was that Bormans design or Speers? 8 meters is about 25 feet, were typical bombs that powerful to even do any damage to something like that???
The fortifications were cracked because the ss tried destroying them upon retreat but they were so thick they can never destroy them completely
I don’t know how you do it you need a Metalof the highest order for ignoring all of the graffiti that people have put on the walls in the last 80 years. If it were me and I were to catch these people doing this I can’t hear you they would never put graffiti on the walls again. I do not consider this as an artistic expression it is simply a defacement of historical areas that people in the future who come to see these places will be dumbfounded as to the reason why it was done. So you as a true historian when you go to these places and have to ignore these things must be very hard. I have a hard time looking at the defacement of history by these people which are the same ones that destroy buildings homes anything they can just because they want to destroy something. Keep up the good work I truly enjoy your videos thank you.

@@tinostruckmann I really appreciate your video's but is English not your first language. I ask as I live in Germany, try to learn German, but am sure it is far from perfect. I used to speak English and Gaelic with fluency... But had to learn French for a previous job. Every day is a gift.... Currently cancer free!
