    Oil vs water. I have a collection of vintage of natural stones. I degrease every vintage stone I get in. The impregnated oil is, IMHO probably an indication of what was in vogue at the time. I use water exclusively often with a very dilute soap soloution. Great honing vid 👌🏼

      thanks bud. like you I only use water or soapy water and agree with your observations.

    Hello. I don't understand why you don't use a translucent ark instead of a black one. What Arkansas brand did you use? Dan maybe?

    • @dappershaves
      @dappershaves  Před 5 měsíci +1

      i have both black and translucent arks from Dan, also soft and washita. there is no real differences between black and translucent edges, at lest for me. thank you for sub, best wishes Jacques

    Great video, Jacques. Is the point of the gloves to prevent contamination of the stone (e.g., hair falling off your hand)?

    • @dappershaves
      @dappershaves  Před 7 měsíci

      thank you for the kind words. the stone slurry dries my hands out severely with continuous use, so the gloves prevent that. best wishes and thanks for watching
