- Introduced in 1971, the Cadillac 60 Special was a full size luxury car which had one of the most spacious interiors of any car in the world. Weighing in at an impressive 5,000 lbs, the standard model including reading lamps, automatic level control, dual comfort front seats and more. RWD and a stout frame meant that the cars were extremely durable and were even rated to tow up to 7,000 lbs. While offered in the popular 4-door sedan bodystyle, some customers desired more space but they had to turn to aftermarket companies. Very few wagons were made by just a few companies and very little is known about them.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to bring this unique 1974 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham 60 special wagon to the market. Due to a number of exterior and interior modifications, the conversion is believed to have been completed by Wisco, a Michigan based coachbuilder, however not much is known other than that. Some sources claim there are less than a dozen wagon conversions produced by this company, although we have no proof to back it up. There is a dashboard plaque that says the vehicle was custom made for a Renee Levin, who, according to the internet was a well loved equestrion who lived in Michigan. This adds a bit of mystique to the vehicle's history. Equipped with the standard 472cid V8 and 3-speed TH400 automatic, this is pretty standard mechanically. The exterior is in decent shape, with a pretty straight and rust free body. The brown metallic paint is in good shape but has the random imperfections and a few bubbles. The tan padded vinyl top is in great shape and features a chrome roof rack. 15in whitewall tires are mounted on factory wheels with wire wheel covers. The chrome trim is in decent shape and the large “El Clasico” grill and hood ornament are custom from the coach builder. The tan interior is pretty much factory and features leather seating for 8. The seats are in great shape but the driver's does have a rip. The dash is crack free and there are a number of custom trim upgrades. The car is equipped with cruise control, power windows, power seats, power sunroof, power locks, and air conditioning.
These wagons are extremely rare and this is the first that GRAG has had the pleasure of offering. A solid driver, this car can be an excellent and unique daily driver or the perfect candidate for a restoration. The possabilities are endless for this unique American land yacht!

I love big wagons- LOVE them
Wow, what a great color too.
The Cadillac is a very unusual station wagon !!
WOW! Speechless! Such a sexy elegant wagon 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💛🙌🏼🙌🏼
74 with 75 headlights and side markers added
And a '75 grille, I think. My Dad's '74 had an eggcrate grille.
SHE IS BEAUTIFUL !!!!!
They updated the nose to 75, the interior confirms 74 completely.
Right Cliff
Did a little research on it, totally surprised at all the options available during that timeframe, and found out that it was called Sierra Grain Leather that was available in multiple colors for both years.
That grill topper is a real turn off.
Breathtaking Cadillac 🤗
Настоящее величие Америки!
That’s a lot of car! Beauty
I believe, occasionally, Cadillac, would pull, a few Fleetwoods, & have them turned into Wagons. I have even heard, that this was done
"In house".
Needs work, but nice, all the same.
it's not a 1974 they didnt start rectangular head lamps in until 1975
It is a 74 with 75 Headlight assembly. Ive seen this one in person
@@thomasdeveno5646 It might be a 1974 with a 1975 front end. Notice the inside of the front doors. The passenger side has the rotating reading light. The driver's door does not. In 1975 & 1976 both front doors had the light. Also, this is not a factory Caddy station wagon. Caddy did make factory station wagons, not available to the public though. Mostly GM executives had them, as well as Elvis Presley. But the factory station wagons had that same bubble back as all the other full sized GM wagons had from 1971 - 1976.
Anyway You slice it. It's a nice full on Custom wagon.👍
Pure beauty !
To be honest, I can't see that being built at the factory, mainly due to limited numbers?
I'm guessing at some stage of assembly it was sent to an outside shop to complete the conversion to a wagon? ;-)
I remember seeing these when new. I never understood why go through the expense of customizing it. Why not just buy a hearse with seats. A hearse had to be cheaper, they were production cars, but this was custom. Miller Meteor & I forgot the other company that made hearses back then. Combined they accounted for about 99% of all the hearses sold in the USA. Caddy did make stations wagons, in the 1970's, but they were only available to GM execs and a few celebrities. Elvis had a Caddy station wagon. Elvis' was a Deville not a Fleetwood.
Peter, personally a hearse creeps me out. This vehicle looks like a 70’ Buick Estate wagon with a Cadillac front and rear end grafted to it. I know there is a following for old hearses, I’m not one of them! It was probably an expensive conversion. I like it.
This has got to be one of the best comments of all time
I would love one of these, but I live in rural Wales, and there are quite a lot of roads round here that it straight up wouldn't fit! I'm not even sure I could get it within 200 yards of my house!!!
Nossa !!!!
Que carro incrível.
Pedaso de Maquina😎
Square headlights, the front is a 1975, the interior looks like a 74. Something is off
74 /75 /76 had very simillar interior
75 had round head lights
75 had square headlights
Yes , I know, 75 and 76 didn’t have inside door pull handles like that and the seats don’t look like any 75, 76 , I’ve seen
I live in it . Can I buy it?
My uncle Tony had a early 80's Fleetwood brougham but not a station wagon
Beautiful got i love wagons grew up on these its these beauty for sale if so how much how many miles shes gourgues
Cadillac did not come out with the square headlights until 1975.
The interior is custom Diarrhea Brown. Seriously, of all the great Cadillac interior shades of the time they chose this?
I want it.
1975 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham sserie 60 Castilian wagon
This one is Not a Castillian wagon
A 74 with square headlights?
Edit: I'd take this over a Tahoe anyday.
She is a beautiful wagon but why would someone swap out the beautiful round headlights to make her look like a 75 or 76 ? I'd love to have a 74-76 caddie wagon
IT IS A 1975 OR 76
I'd love to be the owner
These vehicles would have been used mostly by Funeral Homes as 'removal' cars. Not to be confused with a Cadillac Hearse, which was a completely custom vehicle after the engine compartment back to the tailfins. This was the ride for the deceased from the hospital, nursing home, residence or a transportation hub (railway stations, airports etc) to the Funeral Service. My father was a Funeral Director, owned and operated a Funeral Service here in Canada. I remember him saying the Cadillac Station Wagon was a 'special order' car and cost prohibitive. He used Chevrolet and Pontiac Station Wagons instead. I do not recall ever seeing a 'civilian' Cadillac wagon in central Ontario back-in-the-day.
There are many of these wagon conversions done by various custom coach fitters. This one is obviously for passenger use. I don't doubt that some my have been built for the purpose you describe, but these semi-custom Cadillac passenger wagons come up quite frequently, so while uncommon, they're not exactly rare. I find the "flower car" open back El Camino-=style cars fascinating.
@@aca2983 As do I. The open-bed/trunk Cadillac is even more of a rarity here. I remember only ever seeing one Ford Ranchero used for that purpose at a neighboring Funeral Home. To be honest the Funeral business is an almost 365 day-a-year operation, and with the rather severe winters in central Ontario of the 60s and 70s. The open concept 'flower car' had limited practicality between December to March. Yet, the Cadillac version of that vehicle would be a serious score for a true collector.
Where is the price?? If its for sale that is, if not, please excuse me asking.
1975
I wanted so badly for my Mom and Dad to buy one of these, but in the end, we compromised: Mom got an Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser, but she drove me to Coleman Cadillac to get a glimpse of the Caddy station wagon.
#UnansweredPrayers
how much did the car sell for?
Someone really dropped the ball on that interior compared to the stock seat style and pattern. Still a nice conversion though.
Same brown colour
How come it has square head lights. This came out in 1976
It looks like it's either a 75 or 76 with the 500cid, but not a 1974
You are right, the 74 had round headlights, but the rest of the car is the same 74,75 & 76. The 74 is the best looking year ever and last year of the round headlights
Very rare
I would imagine. I've had a a Cadillac obsession all my life didn't know they made these.
That car looks like it weighs about 10,000 pounds lol! Interesting car, but with the cost of gasoline today, this car is a relic of the past, and should be in a Museum!
$?
The whole body is wrong for 74 , had to be a 75 76.
Is that really a 1974 it has rectangular headlights they didn't come out until 1975
Funeral flower car?
Not a 74. It's a 75 or 6 with those headlights
That's either a 1975 or 1976 Cadillac.
That is a 75 not a 74 the 74 has round head lights 75 had square head lights!
It's not a 74. They didn't get square headlights until 75. 😉
Not the best C-pillar and tailgate solultion.
But interior looks like 74
Its a 1976!
I don't like brown. Car itself is good though.
Funeral home wants to know your location
What a mess.
